Mansfield v Hartlepool.

Another win to keep us in the pack for the PO's. A clean sheet would be nice again too. Hayden White to kick that c*** into the Bishop St early on.

There should be a Rakish Bingham Trophy that is contested whenever these 2 teams meet. Similar to the Brian Clough Trophy between Derby and Forest.

Also, just as the road between Nottingham and Derby has been named Brian Clough Way, there are plans to rename the A1(M) Rakish Bingham Way

I didn't even know Rakish moved to those Angry people up north, I bet it's doing wonders for his self esteem playing against Big Dave and the boys from the local Crown & Anchor every week.

We are guano away from home, last time we beat someone was Grimsby in October :ffs:

Jones has us playing better but we're still pretty weak, Thomas simply must start if we're to get anything out of this, concede the first goal and we may as well just wrap in.

3-1 Mansfied, away woes continue

We are going to need good performances from too many people tomorrow to get anything out of this game, sadly. Can't see Thomas starting, but would like him to be introduced at half time. Hopefully at 0-0.

Need good games from Rooney, Nelson and Amond, and need Hawkins back in midfield instead of Walker.

Expecting a boring 1-0 defeat but never been to Mansfield, despite them being one of our closer games, so looking forward to the day.

There are also plans in the pipeline to rename this stand The Rakish Bingham Stand

That's an old picture, it's had boarding infront of it for the best part of a decade

As for the game, unfortunately I can't make it as in Chester for the weekend for a mates birthday! part-timer I know.

I keep expecting something to go wrong, we're on a really good run. The last time we were on a good run with the last being a 1-0 win over our unfortunate sheep-bothering friends across the M1 was ended by Hartlepool battering us 4-1 with a very impressive performance.

Should be pushing 4,500 depending on what Hartlepool bring

Rakish will pull a string, and the boarding will open like curtains to reveal the stand and a plaque.

Don't you have a modern stand there that you just built over the top of the old stand, and the old stand is still visible tucked away beneath the new one?

No mate, we have the three new stands that got redeveloped around 2000 then the Bishop Street Stand which got left alone because Haslam obviously felt the money was better in his offshore bank account.

http://www.footballgroundguide.com/leagues/england/league-two/field-mill-mansfield-town.html

I know it be a complete waste of money because we don't fill the ground but I cannot stand looking at that stand all covered up with sponsorship it ruins the feel of the ground, be great if we had a little terrace on it even if we only used it for big games, or for big away followings.

Yet another miserable weekend following Pools in the offing.

I hate this football club, I really do, but can't permanently shake it off. That said, I'm not going, been to sample Mansfield's delights on several occasions before and have no desire to ruin my days off before going back to sodding work on Monday.

We'll lose, scoreline isn't relevant.

My youngest girl and her Year 6 classmates have had the task of 'creating' the Bingham Pot. Young Kevin provided the toilet roll innereds, little Sara brought along the string, Samantha raided the blu-tak ball, Jimmy finished off the Fairy liquid for the bottle, and wee Colin in the wheelchair donated a conker for each of the great man's Stags and Poolie goals.

Here's the finished article:

Huge round of applause for Year 6.

The winning skipper has to drink brown ale from it!

Well , everyone seems to think this is a home banker .....one thing we are good at is letting absolutly everyone down , therefore 2-1 to Pools

This was it when Mowgli was a lad, Still looks pretty much the same now!

I stood on that Quarry Lane away terrace as a ball boy in about 83-84. Torquay being my particular favourite, when there wasn't a single away fan on it.

And that was back in the day when we had the pull on tourists, what with the pits, heavy industry, the smell of the brewery and the perma-smog. Happy days <sigh>

Why's this all ticket anyway?

I know there's been a bit of chew in the past but are the police just incompetent or something?

Stags fans are likely getting sick of explaining this but it's mostly down to SAG and Nottinghamshire Police who give Mansfield a rougher time than most clubs.

You will always be able to get a ticket on the day, unless it's sold out obviously.

Even pre-season friendlies are all ticket. It gets on our mammaries and sadly dents attendances, for home and away support. Many folks just can't be troubled with the fuckery of queuing twice, and it gives the half-hearted an easy excuse to not bother pitching up. However, the powers that be seem reluctant to accept it's a significant hurdle in keeping gates lesser than they should be.

The way our team has been dismantled recently I don't see this being the last hiding we take either. 5 - 0 Crewe now we win!

Pools had a gilt-edged chance in the 14th minute but messed it up. Seemed like that had to go in to give them a fighting chance. Other than that, as is always the case recently, there was only one team in it and we won at a canter. Don't think they are bad enough to be relegated, we were just a class above. Whiteman is awesome.
