Big game in the league one title race which ever way you look at it.
Both sides are coming off a defeat and by their standards this season a disappointing run.
A difficult game to predict and I expect it to be close but hoping we will sneak it.
Always had a soft spot for the Saddlers as I lived in Wednesfield up to the age of 9 or 10 and if Wolves were away I often used to go to the old Fellows park to watch them.
Both clubs have probably surpassed their fans expectations undoubtably this season, a win for the Brewers would open up a 9 point gap with 14 to play, a win for the Saddlers would bring them to within 3 points of Albion. Defeat for Albion would reduce their lead at the top and defeat for Walsall would make it much harder for them to get an automatic spot. A draw and its status quo between the two clubs but will probably benefit Wigan and Gillingham.
Its easy to work out then whats at stake on Saturday.
Have a safe journey to and from the game Saddlers fans, I hope we see a great game but I hope you go home defeated but that we both get promotion !
That will probably upset Wigan and Gills fans but from my point of view it would be great to have this local derby in the championship next season !
COME ON YOU BBBBBRRRREEEEWWWW----EEEERRRSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well a massive game, a win for Burton puts them in poll position for automatics and effectively rules us out of promotion. It will be a case of gaining enough points and hoping that enough teams fuck up around us to hold on to 6th. Shortage of confidence in SOD from the players and the changing room isn't fully behind him. That with ridicolous tactical decisions, poor substitutions and not playing our best players in their best position - suggests to me, that's going to be one hell of a fight.

We are better away from home and IF we do take our chances for once, then someone could be on the end of a surprise spanking. As it is, all confidence is drained, Sawyers is playing deeper, Bradshaw is isolated and our best wingers are on the bench - so goals have dried up. We always have had O'Connor missing, goalkeeping injuries and SOD persisting with the average Taylor at left back, whilst our young star Henry sits bench warming.

2-0 Burton.
The promotion race over for us.

Doesn't upset me at all. Someone has to come second and someone has to win the play-offs, why not you two? :2thumb:

Seriously though, you are the most pessimistic fan on 1FF.

Too miserable for his own good!

Confident cos it's away, reckon either a score draw or us to sneak it.

Will be a great day out and atmosphere should be good all around the ground

We'll nick it one nil. 3rd time i'll have been to Burton but the only time where I'll be nervous on the terrace.

I just pray Rico Henry starts.

Hope you are right mate, just feels like the balloon has burst and everything is conspiring against us at the moment.

Unfortunately, we all know he won't and if he does, it will be as a left winger. I can't keep going into the subject, it's winding me up.

Err, not a lot to say really, Albion set up not to lose and never looked likely too. I spotted 5 pigeons on the pitch for several minutes in the 1st half in front of the Popside.
With Gills losing at home its turned out to be a very good point !

Pretty dull game. We had the best of the game and the chances but a 0-0 was fair.

One of the very worst games I can remember in a long time.

I was in the home end and the locals were not happy at Clough or his terrible negative setup. Burton effectively played 9-1-1 without the ball, it was painstaking. I thought we were on the front foot, but overall, were very poor, despite forcing the better chances.

Just an awful game, an awful league, an awful standard.

We've declined so much it's frightening. No Rico Henry again, was nothing short of an absolute disgrace. Holding him back is a sackable offence on it's own, nevermind the lack of media charisma, the contradictions and bumbling mumbling performances we have to put up with.

Get rid of this dullard.

PS - For the first time ever, I'd have happily taken Bradshaw off the pitch today. Isolated, given up running the channels, weak in the air and with his back to goal and more frustratingly, he dives constantly. Kick him up the arse if he wants to carry on progressing his career. His Welsh hopes are distant currently.

Well thats a few hours of my life i'll never get back. Just an incredibly dull, dire match between 2 very poor sides. As for us same old, same old. Huffed and puffed but never thought we would score. I also have no idea why burton would play with such a negative set up. Top of the league in a home match. Baffling!
