Much like the promotion thread although the one you don't want to be emotionally involved in. I'll try and keep this updated each week.

Hard to see beyond those three. We seem to have run out of money and ideas - Devonshire got the dreaded vote of confidence from the chairman a few days ago with a statement that was high on motivational speak, but low on detail, KL have made some desperate signings and their chairman can't stop falling out with everyone, and Dover were nailed on before a ball had been kicked.

Truly embarrassing that we are involved in this thread but we are here on merit and it’s deserved. The Fyre festival was run better than the club has been in the past few years. I hope we are beginning to turn it around with some good appointments and it appears we are looking at a better stamp of players only with an embargo holding us back but hopeful that will be lifted. We stay up this season though imo

I'd say we should be nailed on for relegation. Five straight league defeats, a young squad short on skill and confidence, a rookie manager still lacking understanding of what it takes to survive in the NL, Covid in the squad.....it's not looking good. And yet. I'm encouraged by the fact that the players haven't lost heart or faith, and that the manager has had the guts to admit he was struggling by bringing in someone vastly more experienced in Sean O'Driscoll, his former manager at Doncaster. There's still a long way to go, and if we're good enough, we'll stay up, and if we aren't, we won't. Whatever happens, at least it won't be for want of effort.

Things are looking a lot rosier for us then they were a few weeks ago. We’re far from safe, but we’ve now worked out how to win and if our form continues over the next few weeks then we should be alright, particularly with Dover and Lynn surely taking 2 of the spots.

Our game is off tomorrow. Bromley will likely be off too.

Troubling for our finances

If you had a full squad yesterday, and can't now get 13 for tomorrow, then with 7 days isolation period Bromley has to be off.

Sorry to say it . But a mate of mine was watching one of your last games ( his son was the Lino ) and he expressed how bad your team is.

We switched to a 5-4-1, brought in Mo Sylla in centre midfield and brought in Laurie Walker in goal.
The squad that Searle put together would have struggled in the NLS, and we’ve now replaced the majority of that squad.

I have to agree with the above that we look nailed on to go down with Dover, three 1-0 defeats at home against others in the frame not helping the situation. Basically inexperience in assembling the squad (no goals anywhere on the pitch) and then stubbornness between Culverhouse and Cleeve meaning changes that everyone could see were required not made. Widdrington talks a good game and there have been improvements but without major changes to the squad (unlikely to be funded) and a large slice of luck everyone else is battling to avoid that one final relegation place.

Hope not mate.
Somehow we always seem to avoid relegation......even going back to NLS days under Drax.
Usually saved at AGM cup.
Any news on the Yeovil situation?

Relegation battle

Looks like a relegation fest this weekend with Wealdstone (18th) without a game, there are some bottom half battles.

Kings Lynn (22) v Woking (14)

Barnet (15) v Altrincham (16)

Aldershot (17) v Maidenhead (19)

Weymouth (21) v Southend (20)

So for us draws all round would be handy so all sides drop 2 points or the lowest placed side loses.

Following these we have Wood, Dover, Woking and Grimsby so could do with 6-7 points from these. Others with tough games to follow are:

Barnet who have Notts, Chesterfield and Stockport

Maidenhead have Chesterfield, Halifax, Stockport and Wrexham

So another big month coming up.

Just bought my tickets for Weymouth, I go with zero expectation and very little hope and fully expecting to see Brandon Goodship score against us.

There's also Notts County at home in between the Woking and Grimsby matches. Notts have a habit of dropping points against tinpotters, especially away from home and we're unbeaten in both Tuesday night home matches so far this season.

We've got Weymouth, Aldershot, King's Lynn and Dover this month. If we want to stay up we need 9 points from those at least

Yeah if you don’t get good points this month you are in deep trouble

9 points clear of the bottom 3 (albeit we've played 2/3 more games) with home games against Maidenhead, Southend and Dover in the next couple of months, plus an away trip to Weymouth. If we can win 3 of those 4 i'll be more confident about our chances.

Losing Laurie Walker back to MK Dons is a huge blow for us though
