Shifted up from 42 to 45 for safety after today's results.

Fair play to Cheltenham who have pulled a handful of good results out the bag recently.

Yeah, Chelts are pretty much on the beach now. They definitely need to rest Alfie May when they play us (who has an infuriating habit of scoring against us) and blood the kids - got to develop the youth to boost their chances for next season.

We are definitely gone - not only are we really struggling, but our luck is totally out. First goal today was clearly offside, their second was a carbon copy of the one we scored but was disallowed last week at MK Dons, but was (rightly) allowed - that’s two points the officials have cost us in the last two games, and we are not good enough to overcome that sort of handicap…

Apart from the fact he was a million yards onside you’re right, he was offside.

Comfortably the worst side I’ve seen this season, first half was like a training session. I went down for a beer 10 mins before half time and everyone was saying how bored they were, we were 2-0 up! It was that easy and comfortable. To see you blame the officials is fucking hilarious, nothing to do with them or luck you’re just dreadful.

3 points from 16 games, no win in 17 in all comps. Our goal difference won't help us much either. Sheff Wed up next, survival looks a bit tricky at this point.

Agree, we are absolutely terrible. Probably the worst Cambridge team for almost 10 years.

Slightly improved second half but you didn’t really get going until after you scored. Saying that, we never got going ourselves really but didn’t have to.

I expected a bit more fight from Cambridge I have to admit considering your position but there didn’t seem to be any which I would find more worrying.

Yeah we need a big clear out in the summer, fortunately quite a few are out of contract and unlikely to want to sign new deals even if we offered them. There is no fight in our team, you’re right. It’s so disappointing.

I’d like to avoid us being relegated by Peterborough in mid April but the way it’s going we’ll be down before then so they won’t have the chance to send us down.

I was sat bang in line and he was off - Lino was behind play and fooled by your lad’s speed.
I’ll give you that two yards was an exaggeration…
And I agree, once that goal went in we were utterly awful for thirty minutes - barely regional league standard.
Second half at least we gave it a go…

I’m sorry, I loathe to do this but it’s onside.

21 is playing him on clearly in the first instance.

Then 23 is even further ahead than 21.

Both clearly playing him on.

Think it’s you who has been fooled by Jes’ speed.

Just watched it out of curiosity. Slowed it down several times, paused it, the lot. It's offside. Not as exaggerated as the above poster initially made out but it's still off. But then I've seen it again, and it looks on. God knows now.

Even if you think he’s ahead of 21 when the ball is kicked (he’s definitely not) 23 is another yard or so ahead of him. It can’t possibly be offside.

Anyway, won’t bore others with it anymore. It was onside, the goal stood and we won, none of that can be changed but for the avoidance of any doubt, here are the shots again with the times left on, you can clearly see 23’s arm in the second one, 1 second after the ball leaves Clare’s foot, so unless 23 is Sonic the Hedgehog, he is most certainly ahead of Rak-Sakyi at the time of the ball being played.

Well you have a point on the ‘should have been a pen’ but, sorry, your lad was clearly offside - you’re being fooled by the angle of those photos but the grass lines give it away.
Not that it makes any difference - if we have half an hour each game where we play so badly it looks like it’s Barcelona v Little Bumstead U11s then we can’t complain if we lose…

Just realised 23 is Michael Morrison.

There’s no chance in hell he’s over taken Rak-Sakyi

Clearly ahead of Bennett therefore playing Rak-Sakyi onside and the grass lines back that up.

Definitely my last comment on the matter now :shut:

Please don`t take up linesman duties, the liner is bang in line and is correct the winger is clearly a yard onside.

Well having written off MK’s chances of staying up it seems they’ve inevitably turned it around. Looks pretty bleak for all the bottom four right now. Oxford do have a tricky looking April but sometimes those top six clubs will have their own pressures to deal with and it’s not unheard of for a promotion chaser to choke in a game like that.

Accrington have a crappy run of games now (after us which is winnable), think the four there now probably go.

Oxford are fifth from bottom on 37 points while we’re on 30. I don’t think we will reach Oxford’s current points total.

God it’s tragic isn’t it?!?
It is...we are now fifteen points from safety and could be down in about three or four games time, depending on how results go elsewhere...relegation will probably be confirmed after either of our home games against Barnsley or Fleetwood.

The worst thing for me is that the club has built slowly over a number of years, a lot of people worked really hard to get us where we are, but some really shoddy decisions have been made by those running the club this season and it all looks like going to waste.

I reckon your problems stemmed from when you went up you lost so many personnel Manager/Players / Other Etc. There was no way you were going to compete with what you had left or replaced with.

FGR basically had the same problem we did when we went up to the Championship, a side stripped of it's best players and became a worse team than the one that got promoted. Add in their back room team getting poached and they were on a hiding to nothing. Basically, same as us, your owners thought you could keep going on the cheap and it doesn't work at all.

I'm quite sad about that. I like the new teams coming through but how often do they last past the benefactor? I really hope FGR don't justs fall back therough the leagues, especially if Vince loses interest.

Possibly, Rushden and Diamonds was a good example, worked their way up to League One, last a season and it all fell apart from there (Think the owner passed away who owned Dr Martens) and ended up folding.

Ironically we sent them down from L1 last game of the season (missing out on GD on the play offs in the process) and Nene Park was a lovely little ground, oddly had the largest stand behind the goal with tables and seats inside etc and that was given to the away fans, so they had the best facilities! Been demolished now which is crazy.

That said Fleetwood is an example of when it can work longer term and with their facilities/training ground would surely survive Pilley moving on.

Salford would be the one you'd expect to struggle if their investment got the plug pulled mind as they have very little in the way of facilities as you see on Class of 92 when they are picking dog shit up off the local park!

Went to Nene Park on our visit there in Feb 2004, was either before or after our humbling at Vale Park that month.

Lovely little ground and a waste what it has become.

Might be wrong but if I recall they were knocking on the Play Offs door heading into Christmas then the wheels just fell off.
