I don't deny that they've done well, but would I rather be playing teams bringing 1k plus than those bringing 80? 100%. They've worked miracles really and perhaps no marks is disrespectful but I'd far sooner play against teams that at least create a bit of an atmosphere.
I get that but that’s what makes them surviving five seasons at this level more remarkable.

Yes their manager is bullish, yes their team were a disgrace at Vale Park but they’ve done well and can’t fault them for that.

Can't say I'll miss John Coleman's post match interviews. People like him, Karl Robinson, David Flitcroft, Joey Barton etc must watch different games to the rest of us.

He said “we’d be lucky to play them” so slightly different but it came around that we went up anyway.

They’ve done incredibly well.

If I remember rightly with the lucky to play them comment the context of that was he got the hump because we were singing “you’re fucking shit” at them when we were 5-1 up. No big deal really. Here’s one that might be polarising but I’d happily have him as Vale manager though believe Andy Holt is definitely keeping him on next season.

Interesting seeing Flitcroft on there. I can’t remember anything of him as a manager other than when you hear him speak now it sounds like a middle manager delivering a power point presentation with all his buzzwords.

Coleman was extremely honest and gracious after Saturday's defeat, which must have hurt him personally given the strength of his connection with Accrington - very impressive...

Frustrating that the season ends shortly. If we continued our form following the previous two games across a whole season, we'd have won the league with a record 138 points.

But I'll take another season in League One this time around.

Hilarious that Karl Robinson, of all people, may be appointed assistant manager to the relegation dogfight legend that is Big Sam at Leeds - has no-one seen the albatross-like effect he had at Oxford?

Suppose if he’s only there for a short period of time he can’t do too much damage as dislikable an individual as he comes across.

Port Vale only brought around 100 more fans to us than Accrington did.

That's a bit disingenuous. We came to Ipswich on a Tuesday night, it's an absolute pig to get to (particularly if you work in a regular job) and we were in our worst run of form for a number of years having just sacked our manager. If we were in the top 2 or 3, we would have taken over 1,000 i reckon...maybe more. We were averaging over 1000 away fans earlier this season and took another 1000 to Charlton on Saturday, in the middle of a cost of living crisis, for a game that didn't really have anything riding on it. I think we do incredibly well support wise, considering we've never been in the top league, share a small city with an historically more successful neighbour, and are based in one of the poorest areas of country, off the back of several seasons where we were barely clinging on to league status.

I only raised the point because you suggested Accrington Stanley were ‘no marks’ because they don’t have a huge away support. So it seemed worth pointing out that your support at our place was very similar.

I personally think neither club are ‘no marks’ but if you’re going to put them in that category then surely you just expect some push back.

For what it’s worth, a lot of clubs would take 1000+ to a London away game as the final away fixture of the season I’d suggest. It’s a good effort nonetheless.

Must've changed then because whenever he came up against us he sounded like a right prat in the main. Someone like Conker or AdamStag will be able to confirm or deny that, maybe it was just our games!

So, it's survival / relegation day at the bottom.
Strangely I don't feel much pressure.
I think I was already fully resigned to relegation on the 7th April when we were absolutely adrift, other teams with games in hand, with the club financially broken and a potentially dodgy owner being embroiled in the EFL's lonnnnnnngest ever fit and proper person's test / review - 6 months and counting.
BUT after 10 points from the last 12 and Cambridge's loss on Wednesday we're still in with a chance - an increasingly greater chance. The team looks passionate, optimistic, focused and capable. Stockton has his head back on. So, the momentum is with us.
I still think we'll be relegated but, fuck me, it's gone to the wire and it's been quite a month.

I thought Morecambe were done but they have momentum and Stockton (I hope we try and sign him again) has decided to start playing. I think Cambridge have left it too late, too many other results to rely on. Mk dons must be gutted after last week and face a tough game. I think it will be Cambridge and MK to join Stanley and FGR. I don't give a shite about Mk but I feel bad for Cambridge as they've got a decent club.

I think Morecambe will survive but I want MK to stay up as they'll easily be Top 3 in League Two next season were they to go down. Not sure any of the other 4 would trouble the Top 7 in our league next season.

Bye Bye. What an utter shitfest of a season. I game away from promotion to the championship to relegation to league 2. Our owners should take time from using the stadium to promote rock concerts to actually pushing the football club.

Anyway, we have some friends in division 2. Honest, someone likes us.

Made up for Cambridge. Proper club. I was there as a neutral the day they beat Newcastle at St James' Park last season and Dimitar Mitov put in one of the best performances I've ever seen from a keeper there. I know they've been at risk of second season syndrome this time around but what an escape by them!

Delighted to see that John Coleman and Derek Adams are both relegated. Two odious managers, especially the former. MK imploded from a position where they looked like they were going to survive a month ago and those dropped points vs Cheltenham and Barnsley ultimately sealed their fate.

MK will be amongst the contenders in L2 next season but I really can't see the other three challenging at all. Especially given there's a minimum of £1 million drop in income for getting relegated to League Two.

Forest Green somehow finished on less points than our awful side did last season!

Can’t disagree with you on Derek Adams (and he particularly seemed to hate us, so fuck him) but I don’t get the hate for Coleman?

Plus you get to welcome both next season…

Been some failure of recruitment from MK this season. Only problem is my closest away game now gone, just hope Northampton don’t gag all over themselves tomorrow speaking selfishly. Great for Cambridge and a tick in the box to their owners for not panicking and sacking Bonner when it was looking grim for them.

Hopefully for Morecambe some of the off field stuff gets sorted out but can see it being tough for them next season. Accy will be competitive, Coleman is too good a manager not to have them be that way.

Wow, what an emotionally and physically draining 4-6 weeks. That’s up there with the promotion tension of getting over the line for promotion two seasons ago.

I hope lessons are learned from this season and I’m already looking forward to next season.

What a relief!!

Stockton will go I’d think!

We can’t say we didn’t give it a good go today, the ball just refused to go in. I’m not as convinced we’ll have another 18/19 bounce back at the first go this time around either.

Miserable season, thank fuck it’s over.

We have history with Coleman. Most notably when he tried his utmost to get our FA Cup tie in 2019 abandoned on a technicality as it was one way traffic against his side all game.

Fair enough, obviously an incident like that is going to affect your view of the guy.

I’ve admired his ability to get Accy punching above their weight, but I know a few on here have complained about the amount of shithousing ASFC do…obviously not a position on which any Wycombe fan can take the moral high ground.

Just the 17 points off 23rd in the end then.

Going to take a lot to stop the rot carrying on to next season.

Coleman was a bit of a twat with us to be honest. He must have the safest job in football....his interview before the game basically said that the players he has signed have not been good enough and had a bit of a swipe that the club didn't spend anywhere near enough.

Pleased for Cambridge...they're a proper club with dedicated supporters. Morecambe have been threatening relegation for a while to be honest and nobody likes MK.Mk easily the worst team we've played this season, so not a surprise.

Commiserations to Morecambe and MK. The former seems to give it a bit of a go towards the end in all fairness, MK feel as though they've sleepwalked into it the most out of the clutch of clubs down there and it's crazy to think they've gone from the PO's to relegation in a year - the perils of having a good season and your best players being cherrypicked!

Well done to Cambridge, I think that was, what, 5 wins in the final 9 or something? Brilliant effort to get out of it and shows how in the mire they were considering that sort of form and still relying on others in the final game.
