On my way back now. Unacceptable that.

We were absolutely cruising at 2-0, controlling the game against 11 then 10 men. Then 2 minutes of absolute madness and we've spunked 2 points.

However you dress it up that is an absolutely disgusting result given the circumstances.

Aye, how we got a point out of that with 10 men I've no idea, we actually had the better of the game once Oliver got himself sent off. I thought we were a bit unlucky to be 2-0 down as Carlisle had two chances that they took, but there it is. The most entertained I've been at Bootham Crescent for a good long while.

I don't know hg in person but from what I know of him on here, he'll be in no mood to sample anything. I've been in Glasgow and I'm amazed and disappointed. 2-0 up against 10 men and don't win... How shit at defending do you have to be to let that happen?

That was shit.

How you can fuck up a 2-0 lead against 10 men I'll never know.
I agree that our lead wasn't really deserved, but once we got the second we were in cruise control.

We weren't attacking enough when they went down to 10, and then we gave away a stupid penalty, which commenced our downfall.

Had a good day anyway, just a shame we fucked it up on the pitch.

I didn't think York had the better for any period other than that 5 minutes. That's the least we've been tested in 90 minutes so far this season. They had 1 glorious chance first half which they missed (hit the bar), and the 2 goals, but that was pretty much it. I never felt we were under any relentless pressure. That's what makes the defeat (I mean draw) all the more annoying.

That Newcastle fella looked good, reminded me of Tom Lawrence a bit.
Troy was probably my MOTM, very solid and comfortable on the ball.
I think we'll bounce back in the league next week, disappointing to draw today, but we've only lost once all season still.

So.. would you say the defence was the problem ?:fish:

Has the season ended ??
Like when you lot were claiming to be the bees knees before our game...

I think we'll finish above Hartlepool, you've only beaten the weaker sides in the division.

I thought other than the goal Troy was poor today by his standards. He gave the ball away in key areas and although I haven't seen it again, it looked like he was pretty poor for York's second goal.

That's why we all thought we would lose, we really are a poor team at home and for 60 minutes it was more of the same. The sending off actually did us a favour because Carson changed the game. Without that there is no way we would have come back to gain a point. Both teams are obviously suspect at the back and that's why neither will do anything this season. Credit to our guys though, 2-0 down and down to 10 men, to get a draw out if that shows a level of character even though it's not against one of the top teams, I suspect a better team would have killed the game off. God help us moving forward though if we don't sort out the defence.

Well, the only positive to take away is that we're still level on points with the play-offs and have Newport at home next weekend... surely we have to be looking to take all three points then.

Very frustrated at that game yesterday, but a big well done to York who 100% deserved getting back into that game.

I thought we were absolutely awful for the whole match and extremely fortunate to be a goal up let alone 2 goals. I thought first half we were slow, sloppy, midfield was non-existent and unbalanced, all we could do most of the half was lump it to Ibere and him and the new guy seemed to at least link up well to cause some problems.

York i think had alot of the play, but we too slow on the build-up and that allowed us most of time to chuck bodies behind it all and thus stop them getting near. We scored when i was moaning about how rubbish we were then grabbed a second as York seemed to defend a corner as badly as we do and somehow had the lead.

Second half was annoying, the sending off out of the blue seemed to make a win seem certain but we then proceeded to f*ck about with the ball trying to pretend we were bloody Barcelona, p*ssing about a messing about playing side to side crap with no intention of killing off the game....then Curle makes a horrendous decision to go one up front.....yep one up front vs 10 men with a 2 goal lead

our players looked like the couldn't give a t*ss, the manager didn't give a t*ss and once one went in that was that.........really we deserved to lose the game.

our attitude stank, I am worried its 3 games in a row now where we have looked bland, slow and sluggish, the midfield 3 isn't working and the left side is a joke.....either play Brough, play Grainer or bring someone in.

but Curle looked like he wasn't interested at all yesterday, he didn't even do a half time talk he instead sat in the dug out most of half time, when we messed about second half he couldn't be bothered, when 2-1 he couldn't be bothered, at 2-2 he sort've looked half interested.

one eye on midweek, but i think could be the start of a winless run where we look back at this game as a huge huge error.

I fear the same.

The fact this team simply cannot defend and is somehow worse defensively than last season seems completely lost on a lot of our fanbase. There's talk of promotion, playoffs etc. Dream fucking on! When you have to score 2 goals a game to even get a point, or 3 goals minimum to win, sooner or later your luck will run out.

Sooner enough the deluded portion of our fans are going to be brought crashing down to earth with a bump. I wouldn't be surprised if we beat Newport next week, but after than the games get tricky and I think a winless run could be just around the corner.

did anyone listening to radio know if they asked why Curle didn't give a t*ss at half time or during 2nd half??

and why was Asamoah out....him and Ibere are such a dangerous pairing.

Asamoah was being rested because he'll start on Wednesday apparently.

I've no problem with that as Jabo and Gilliead played quite well together.

Curle said he felt the players dropped a level after the sending off, thought the game was won and didn't use the width and move York from side to side enough. He said we didn't pass the ball forward enough when they were down to 10. He thought Balanta's forward thinking mentality would have changed that, but it didn't.

I think every club have a percentage of fans that are either over optimistic and get carried away to easily, and a percentage who always fear the worst. I guess we had the same thing when Hartlepool beat us and they getting
Hyped up by some when in reality they were very lucky and looked a pretty poor team to me. Don't think I've seen a top 7 team at city yet this season, Pools, Carlisle, Mansfield, and Yoevil. They all look to be midtable sort of teams to me with Yoevil the worst of the bunch. Big plus for me was the unexpected change of formation from Wilcox and I'd like us to stick with a 4-3-3 with Carson coming in. He's inconsistent but does bring something we don't have when he's out. Still think the defence is weak though and plenty of work to do if we want to push up beyond midtable.

I think you're being incredibly pessimistic to be honest. We haven't played at our best most games this season, yet we've still only lost 1 league game, playing a mixture of good/bad sides.

Bit ridiculous to right off a play-off push this early in the season, we're level on points with 5th, and though our defence is shite we're still top scorers in the division.
I've not heard anyone say we'll definitely be promoted, but we've started well for the first time in years, have some optimism.

I'm not writing off a playoff push, because things can be fixed. But if we don't improve defensively then we've no chance. We're conceding on average over 2 goals per game. That statistic simply cannot go on if we're wanting to stay in the top half.

Leyton Orient away next week will be a good examination, we'll concede 2 or 3 goals minimum but let's see if we can out score them like we have other teams recently. I have my doubts.

I see Tom Miller scored again. How's he started life at Carlisle?

He's been good. He plays either right wing or right centre back. Yesterday he was right wing and he got his goal from there, took it well with a nice side foot into the bottom corner.

Right wing? Interesting one. He's very effective at getting forward but from deep positions, overlapping and all that, but I never imagined him playing as an out-and-out winger.

We play with a back 3 and "wing backs", but anyone who watches us will tell you that the "wing backs" do nothing defensively and spend most of the match as part of a front 4 forward line. So yeah it's pretty much an out and out right winger.

Cheers for that Carlisle, you've kept Wilcox in a job, would happily have seen us limp to a 2-0/3-0 defeat after watching that first half, awful, he has to go.
Surprised at the reaction of your fans after that. Applauding your players off as if they'd just come back from 2 down with 10 men. Our fans could barely be arsed to applaud ours off, most reaslising that Wilcox will see it as a tactical masterstroke to get back into that, far from it. A ridiculous penalty given away by Carlisle, Nolan took an age with the throw in and ended up just throwing it aimlessly into the box for Summerfield to chase, heels clipped, back into the game and got the crowd involved.

That is a portion of our fans for you........could lose 6-0 and would still clap.

I just got up and left, I don't clap when they do not deserve it and didn't there.

I do worry about us and it may seem harsh cufc17 but that is the 3rd game we've now looked poor, its been covered as we seem to be hitting every single chance in the net at present which is a big positive, but we had about 3-4 chances vs Barnet 2-3 Vs Dagenham and I think 3 chances vs York....that's 7 goals from just 10 chances its an excellent return, but we're knackered if we stop hitting nearly every chance in as we'll always concede 1-2 a game.

Resting players for Liverpool was madness, I do not think we'll win next week because Liverpool will be a physically and mentally draining game and I felt we needed the win at York to give abit of leeway next week, now we must win it.

the last 3 games have been interesting, but not exciting, we've not taken game to other side, not put sides ont he back foot, we struggle to cope with 3 forwards on us etc, etc. The central midfield 3 isn't working with Joyce, Dicker both involved and the left side is a joke.

Not worried in respect of us struggling, but I worry we are not addressing these areas and it can begin us struggling.

Saying that Curles 'didn't give a crap about the game' look and attitude didn't warm him to me on Sat so was always going to slate him for it.

Unbelievably we are appealing the red card, that'll be the biggest waste of time and money since.....the last time we appealed one, how can we appeal it when hardly anyone saw it, no evidence to over turn it?
