Our new pitch looked a fair bit ragged and the ball bobbled in places and it is not as smooth as our previous pitch, hope they get it back to that standard and quick as I want to see us play free flowing football at home again instead of the scrappy show that was on today, well apart from the passing build up to Ibehre's chance which was brilliant stuff.

Our team needs energy and to get that momentum back and fast or our season will soon fade away into nothingness!

I don't think it'll be back to that standard any time this season. They'll have to replace it again in the summer.

As long as it's playable and doesn't look as if there's more mud than grass then that would be ok for the rest of the season.

Got to mention the attendance today which was 7461, now that is a great turn out for a match in January against the team that's bottom of the league, where were they when we were doing well earlier on? Pfft oh yes I forgot these extra lot are just interested in the Everton match hence they bought a York ticket along with an Everton ticket. I guess they won't be coming back for anymore league games because we weren't quite like Barcelona today.

Saddens me that not that long ago, that wouldn't even have been considered a remarkable attendance.

Was thinking the same. The fact our fans are now thinking 7,400 is a remarkable attendance just shows how poorly managed our club has been during the Abbott & Kavanagh years.

a performance yesterday that for me ruled out our chances of being in the top 7, we have still building to do and me thinks is more chance we drop than rise at present.

i don't blame the floods, just that we need some proper wide players, we only have Gilliead and he's gone badly out of form which means we've no attack options at all presently unless a set play creates something. it worries me that we seem only to be linked to central midfielders and strikers at moment..............the players we have in abundance and need no more.

But York fans should worry, they will get relegated due to their sheer negativity more than anything else, they offered absolutely nothing for 70 minutes of the match which made the game extremely dull as neither side did much for huge periods of the game, they played for a 0-0, then reminding me of our Abbott days seemed alot happier to play for a 1-0 defeat than risk it to equalise, they finally attack and look much better, have afew chances, get their deserved goal and then with us 100% there for the taking decide to again sit back for the point than even bother to attempt a winner........you have to gamble sometime, you won't survive on points.

but a draw was correct, we did have 2 superb chances at 1-0 to kill off game but we were very sluggish most of the game and made some wrong choices on subs, Jabo should have long gone off he was getting more and more ineffective 2nd half.

desperately need a left winger, it is absolutely crying out for one, and now another right winger as Gilliead needs competition.

I agree that our play off chances look unrealistic now after seeing us yesterday, but at least we are still a competitive team with good spirit and still in the FA cup!

We must not dwell on the likelihood of us not going up this season but instead look at how far we have come since last season and start building up for a real promotion push next season. It is clear that we need to add many more better players to our team to be a promotion candidate as our current team can not get us any further than outside the play offs.

So I think the key areas that need addressed are our attack and midfield mainly as I believe our defence is good enough now although we really could do with some better cover for the left back position as when Grainger is out injured we are weak in that position. It may sound funny needing better players in our forwardline cconsidering we were scoring the most goals in the league at one point but I think that was just down to players hitting unbelievable form like Jabo who in honesty is more of a target man really than a goal poacher. I think we need a proper goal poacher and I'm afraid Wyke, Hope and Asamoah simply aren't good enough, Jabo is a great target man so we need a better poacher to play off of him. We need new wingers and good ones on both sides as Gillihead is just on loan and seems to have big dips in form and hes only 18 so we could do with some experienced wingers. Now for me the midfield is the main problem, we hardly ever get goals from this area and we seem to lack quality in creating goal scoring opportunities, so we need a playmaker and an actual attacking midfielder who will score goals, our current midfield going forward is non existent however they are good defensively.

Remember we are still a work in progress. So I think that's what we desperately need if we are to move forward, does anyone agree?

I just watched the highlights on youtube and they just show how poor our finishing was yesterday as there were 3 clear cut chances for us that were embarrassingly missed by Asamoah, Ibehre and Hope. Asamoah looked like his mind was elsewhere as Kennedy put a great ball in from the by-line and Asamoah completely scuffs at it when it is an open goal to and of course there is that Ibehre chance where he should head it in but again he heads it out of play when all he has to do is hit the target, harder to miss! Very concerned at Jabo yesterday. As for Hope he was too slow when one on one but why the hell did Atkinson back off when he runs through with Hope? If he had stayed with Hope then Hope could of squared it to Atkinson and it would be an open goal for him!

They just looked too tentative infront of goal, it's really frustrating because they can be so much better than this. :hb:

Curle must sort this out or the fans will soon go that 'other' way against him.

Absolutely 0% chance of this happening to be fair. Look at where we were last season compared to now, we're pretty much safe already and have got a much better team to show for it as well as having some amazing cup nights so far this season with another one soon to come. Our fans might be harsh but 90% of them appreciate what a massive job he's pulling off at the moment to change the club and I'm sure that most of the fans will stick with him for a good while now regardless of how this season ends.

Curle has done a miraculous job considering the shower of shite he inherited from the previous 2 managers.

Even if we were to finish something like 15th this season, I'd still class it as a great job considering he's had to rebuild the squad pretty much from scratch in a short period of time

Just out of interest what happened to all the York fans? Did smart geezer, MinsterMagic or any of the Yorkies off of Tff make it over? There used to be a few of them.

We were a bit fortunate to get a point there, to say the least, but we possibly just about deserved it as i) we were much better in attack once Galbraith and McEvoy had come on, and ii) Carlisle were far from great. We still would have lost that 3-0 on another day, though.

Awful to see the state of Warwick Road on the way to the ground - about a mile of gutted houses with skips everywhere. It was bad in York but that looked about an order of magnitude worse.

Only 327 of us there, nearly 600 made the trip last season. The ongoing shambles that we've been for the vast majority of our time back in the league is starting to take its toll.

We are now 19th in a form table of the last 6 games, but that isn't going to be enough to keep us up. We need wins, and if we can't beat Stevenage on Saturday things are going to look bleak.

did your manager play negative on purpose for our game or does he play that negative usually??

felt you really flogged a good chance by never wanting to actually have a go, when you did you scored very soon after but moment it went 1-1 you went right back to no interest in attacking.

think as I said earlier you'll relegate yourselves with that approach, need wins not draws and you flogged a good chance Saturday being uninterested in scoring.

I just think the players are lacking the confidence to attack, particularly away from home. Again, I did think the subs made us more of an attacking threat -I'm not convinced that our attacking reticence is down to the manager. The real problem is that our supposed senior players are all out of form. Russ Penn was lucky to still be on the pitch when he got hooked, and Summerfield looks a shadow of the player he can be (even though he took his goal well).

But you're right, we need wins. We're 19th in the form table now but that won't be enough to keep us up. And why did Summerfield go for the corner flag in injury time when he could have put a cross in? Very frustrating.

that is what surprised me about you as a side, when you went 1-1 I was 100% sure we were losing that game, you had your heads up, we were nervous and making mistakes, you had us on the back foot and while we controlled easily 70 mins of the game your equalizer had been coming for 5 minutes of sustained pressure.

then BANG 1-1 and you completely and utterly gave up.........and I am sitting there thinking if I were a York fan and we went down end of season that is the game I'd look and think it was a chance of a crucial win.

still a point is a point, we of course all hope you and Hartlepool survive with the lack of north clubs.

York are bottom for a reason and any good players they have will surely be poached soon enough.

Shame as I thought York would be alright this season and of course they're northern so it will be fairly crap to see them get replaced by another southern club to join this league.
