Had Rebecca Welch do our game today. To be honest she was very good again as she was the last time she did one of our games. Very understated and always in the right position. Can’t think of any call she got wrong so fair play to her.

Excellent again, as she was last time for her first EFL game. She didn’t look to be the centre of attention and let it flow.

Our radio commentators were very complimentary of her.

I think the refs in this league are great, the more missed elbows the better…..

Seriously though, we all have shite refs and, while I wouldn’t say it equals itself out, I would say we do all experience the same level of ineptitude. But it’s only one factor of what stops a team from winning a game of football - the level of criticism they get compared to say your goalie who has lost the ball on the edge of the box giving away a goa is disproportionate. These people are humans who are subject to mistakes in the jobs (as I imagine we all are).

We won the game that I'm criticising the ref for, so no agenda from me. He was useless for both sides, but as the side trying to play a bit of football, we were the ones hindered most by it.

Wasn't too happy about the ref on Saturday, even less so after watching our "From all angles" highlights, I think he missed a nailed on penalty and a potential red card for violent conduct...was pretty sure I saw one of our players kicked when on the ground, this confirms it (just after the two minute mark):

Didn’t see who the ref was last night but I thought he was poor, one of many strange decisions we seem to be on the wrong end of lately, he didn’t even get booked for this challenge.

Both are doing the same so if one gets booked, the other should too.

One with a boot a tad higher than the other I guess some might but yes suppose both are going into the tackle some way above the ball !

Right so with that logic if two players go up for a header with elbows up, one catches the other and brakes his eye socket whereas the other catches thin air they both should be booked?

Take the blinkers off!

Its hard to tell from the "Still" as neither are anywhere near the ball, for example the Ipswich player may have touched the ball and the Cambridge last is kicking up through him being late.

Fuck me we didn’t have David Blaine playing us last night!

The Ipswich player blamed it on the floodlight’s ffs.

It’s called a 50-50.

Both have studs up in the picture, going into that 50-50, away from them ball and also both with two feet off the ground. Both dangerous and uncontrollable challenges so yes, both should be dealt with the same.

The fact our player’s foot is higher than yours at that angle is unfortunate. The angle of your player suggests he’s coming in at a fast pace.

We're quick enough to slate so must also give credit to the referee Charles Breakspear in the derby last night. A hostile game and he controlled it superbly, whilst also not giving every niggle and gave every chance to let the game flow.

He was always in command and spoke to the players very well. Well done.

He did very well last night, although we had him against Exeter earlier in the season and he was absolutely awful that day! (Got our usual apology letter for their penalty a week later!)

We had Singh-Gill at the weekend against Lincoln and thought he had a decent game mind, got the decisions right, refreshing.

Is that Jarnail's boy?

I miss Jarnail - gave us bloody everything.
Jarnail Singh. My god what a terrible ref he was and of course because he wore the turban it always stuck in your mind that he was terrible.

Thankfully his son seems far better.

There's something about this that is quite poignant.

Hope it goes well tomorrow and remember all officials are human.

He was. In the past we have had major issues with him, and I suspect it went beyond the fans to the club as well. So the question I asked myself was has he improved over time or was that a personal best, never to be repeated. Guess you’ll be able to soon give us an update.

The new Trevor Kettle has arrived!

We had a guy called Bobby Madden yesterday, who's in his first season in the EFL after leaving Scotland, where he was allegedly their top referee. I'd fucking hate to see the worst one if this clown was the best.

Among his gems were telling the managers that he would not add time on for throw ins, which led to Burton taking an eternity over every one from about the 5th minute in. He then added only one minute on at half time. He allowed our 17 year old centre forward to be assaulted every time the ball came near him, and when being booed as he walked off at half time found it funny and laughed at fans.

Second half when Burton stopped time wasting, as they were losing, he found seven minutes of added time, and played about eight!

Worst I've seen since Kettle and should fuck off back to Scotland.

We had him today...sadly.
I dont think ive seen anyone worse in my 40 years watching football. I hope he brought a wig and dodgy moustache with him today as I fear for his safety getting away from the Mem.
Did similar with us, didnt clamp down on Fleetwoods time wasting/kicking the ball away, then as soon as we started it near the end the cards came out. Then played 10 minutes of 7 added time (yes I know its minimum) when obviously they scored with almost the last kick

Where do you start with the ref today...our game stopped for about five minutes whilst he sorted out a bit of a scuffle on the pitch, that broke out after a 50:50 between Hendry and one of their players...after which he brandished five yellow cards. Don't think I've ever seen that happen before.

I didn't notice the ref yesterday- Tom Reeves- which must mean he did well.

I know there is a lot of moaning about them on here bt generally I feel they do a good job, and are at least better than League Two refs

Looking at the footage there's a case for at least one red, and a charge of 'failing to control the players' for the teams....

Well that ref today Madden was the worst ref I've seen in 60 + years of watching pro football.

What happened was towards the other side of the pitch from where I sit in the main stand, although I was almost level with the 50:50 challenge...at the time I was worried that Hendry might get sent off, but would need to see it again to make my mind up, but it genuinely looked like two players going for the ball. When the melee happened it resulted in March lying face down on the ground...not sure how he ended up there, there were lots of arms flying around, it could have been a push or maybe something a bit more severe.

The ref stood with his assistants for what looked like an age, it was probably a good couple of minutes, whilst presumably trying to work out what any of them might have seen...or missed...before waving the yellow card around. I was a bit surprised to see it go 3-2 in our favour...the only thing we won yesterday...as Wycombe looked more like the aggressor than Rovers.
