We will lose as we treat it as another pre season friendly while Rovers March to the title. Should be a good crowd, at least from the away fans, don't think the home ones can be bothered.

As were in the lge 2 forum we may as well mention Carlisle here too, they were top 3 and about to get promoted with the Rovers not long ago did you know?

Jeez Frealaf becoming a bit obsessed recently. The reason a lot of content is about Carlisle is because 4 of the most active users are Carlisle fans...

Pretty sure he meant it as a joke to be fair though.

I knew you lot in Lincolnshire were strange but I didn't realise you spoke a different language
I think he is referring to 'Cumfurts' a name people on the coast call certain Yorkshiremen who 'cum furt beach', or 'cum furt kids', or 'cum furt day and stay furt weekend'.

They are often from tut, tut Leeds!

That's correct my post translated means ---- come for the day, end up staying for the week.

Stay in your parts? What are they gunna take home as a souvenir, a bag of fish innards and a complimentary pile of fresh dog shite?

On second thoughts, it would be right up someone from Donny's street that.

Funny you should say that about dog shit. I am thinking of designing a computer game where you have to walk through Grimsby and Cleethorpes without treading on a dog turd. Once you have reached level one you can try jogging, then its by dusk, then running, then under broken street lighting, should be a big seller.

Anyway... back to this fixture.
We've sold out our allocation and 'apparently' have a number in the home end.
After Sunday we need to get back to winning ways, it is also possible for us to be promoted so I've heard, if we win and results go our way.
I'm going with 1-3 Rovers.
Same team that played Plymouth, we played against the best keeper in this league Sunday who won the game himself. I don't believe it will be the same Saturday.

Special guest for this game has been announced as Jim Dobbin who has 2 spells at both clubs.

Not sure how high a regard Donny fans hold him in but he'll always be a Mariner legend for his last minute screamer at St.James Park which stopped Newcastle setting a new record for consecutive wins at the start of the 1992 season.

I remember I begged my dad to take me to that game but he was worried that there might be trouble so he didn't take me, I still went mental in my mam's front room when Grandstand suddenly switched to St James Park saying that there had been a late goal, but one of my biggest regrets following GTFC that I wasn't there to witness that day. :(

That's why I started taking my lad away when he was really young as I didn't want him missing out on some great away day memories, his first away match was at Lincoln Boxing Day 2011 when he was just 5 years old and he was hooked straight away. :)

Edit: a nice excuse to show this, still gives me goosebumps watching it as we were so poor up to this goal but it totally changed the game:

That Newcastle game is definitely in my top 5 Town games ever, up there with Everton 84, Middlesbrough 89 and Liverpool 01.

I remember that we were 10/1 to win that day and me and a mate had a fiver on the win before we left Grimsby.

What a day that was back in 1992, a day I'll never forget in a hurry.

No Nicky Adams for this game. Another one to add to our lengthy injury list.

Like it will make a difference anyway, we can't be any less of an attacking threat than we have been of late.

Thought I was at the Plymouth match again 4 good chances, 2 cleared off the line, 2 good saves, Grimsby had 1 chance and scored oh no here we go again then a bit of luck and the ball somehow finds Marquis free in front of goal and at last we are back on track. Fully deserve the half time lead.
