Anderson has been the inform player recently and one mistake in that game to go 4-2 up and Taylor punishes him and wins 7-3. He's playing the best darts he has for a few years at the moment.
Fair play to Bobby Thornton tonight, turned in an immaculate performance and was unlucky to lose to MVG. Against anyone else he probably takes home a win.
I think that's the highest quality match ever seen in the Premier League. 2 unreal dart players just scoring and finishing for fun and not a single chance of a break of throw.
Shanghai Darts Masters was good across the weekend. Paul Lim gave MVG a scare in the 1st round, narrowly losing 6-4, and Peter Wright somehow contrived to lose 8-7 to Taylor after being 7-1 up - imagine that will affect his confidence with Blackpool coming up. Wade played well until the final, losing 8-3 to MVG.
Decent standard all round, even from the Asian qualifiers who are getting better. Important that Darts cracks the Chinese market because as snooker has shown, if you can do that you're in for some serious £££.
I watched some of it. More atmosphere on the moon than that arena Clearly a different sort of darts fan in China. Although I quite like that - sometimes the crowd can be distracting! I bet the players loved having a game of televised darts without the Yaya/Kolo song being drunkenly belted out behind them
Caught a bit of Blackpool this afternoon, Gerwyn Price did well to beat Kim Huybrechts, really think he has the potential to be a World Champion in the next 5-10 years.
Justin Pipe vs Terry Jenkins, on the other hand, was awful.
It was a shite match and Price is a twat, Lewis was right to tell him to pipe down and come back when he's won something. The 4 big guns in the semis tonight, should be brilliant.
Interesting that Taylor has basically came out and said that he is looking at retirement, and wants to work with younger players to get them to a level where they can beat MvG. He said he is too tired to cope with the demands of a tournament like the World Matchplay
Seems like the next World championships could well be his last
Taylor being a weird, creepy bastard as usual. He was trying all sort of childish antics there and he still doesn't realise that MvG doesn't fall for them. When he gets beat like this he always plays the old age card and acts as though he's not really bothered. He will be around for a few years yet, he's still brilliant and would still be winning majors if not for MvG.
Cringing in my seat watching that final. Respect Taylor, obviously, but he is a complete and utter arsehole when things aren't going his way. Encouraging the Icelandic clap thing while MVG was throwing, getting the arse about MVGs celebrations and then doing that sarcastic clap thing when he won a leg - lucky MVG is a pretty calm guy, someone else may have tried to lamp Taylor one.
He can't be a gracious loser. Don't give a toss whether he's frustrated or not, a man of his age and experience should be behaving better.
