Sorry to see Grimsby back here, always had time for them as a club.

That said its an absolute disgrace getting relegated here twice and you'll be under a supervised probationary period on rejoining the brotherhood to minimise potential further tinpottery and shame on the organisation.

Yes you are going to have to spend a season in the NLN with York as penance.

Torquay had to as well. Any further disgrace and they'll have to be cut loose. Integrity of the hood innit?

Southend now hoping for a miracle, although 2 wins and a few more shocking performances by Scunny you may just sneak it! nothing like a bit of final day drama down the bottom of the table!

Hahaha yep when you look at the likes of Luton, Lincoln and Brizzle Rovers waltzing through L2 in a season or two then it's the fact that we've done it again that is the worst part of this.

Tbh though, the second time isn't anywhere near as bad as the first. It was some sort of unthinkable apocalypse the first time round. It's really not this time.

I think Grimsby will be a top side in the Conference next season, they’ve been on good ish run over the last few weeks and it’s on my the fact they were so far back when Hurst took over that they’ve come down.

Southend on the other hand (if it is them) shouldn’t be strong unless they have a major upheaval of the club on and off the pitch.
Hurst will get Grimsby in and around it, he always did when they were last down here but will he be prepared to sacrifice some of the point accumulation consistency he likes his sides to have to push and win those few extra games at the expense of losses in order to challenge right at the top? He likes his sides to tick over the points total. The one automatic spot needs you really need to take risks at times across the 46 games.

Nope, I can't see him going any more gung-ho than he usually does. I can't see us starting quickly in our first season down here either, so I think playoffs will be the aim from the off. I'm not sure if it's point accumulation consistency that's his thing though, I think that's just a by-product of a cautious approach, which is what his thing is. The margins are often so fine in Hurst games to the point that he needs an almost flawless defensive unit to flourish.

Id missed the fact you were going through a takeover until last night. Who are the new owners?

Jason Stockwood and Andrew Pettit. Two Local successful businessmen, one thing that might hold us back budget wise for a few years is paying Fentys loan back

And don't get me wrong, I don't expect them to come in and spend a fortune to get us back, am sure the playing budget will just be competitive, however they are expected to turn the club into being a more professional club on and off the pitch as it appears we learnt nothing from being in non league last time and have just tread water for 5 years back in lge 2.

Hopefully once Fenty has gone some staff will bring the truth out about how badly we have been run and lack of investment

Being well run is huge, the one constant between almost all relegated teams (bigger clubs anyway) is how wastefully they are being run.

So we have managed to avalanche our way back down here again.

Hi everyone, you haven't missed much from us over the last 5 seasons and it seems there are a few teams around here I remember well, so it would appear we haven't missed much down here either!

When do the fixtures come out?

Christ knows, the season doesn’t even end until the last week in June.

Selfishly happy to see Grimsby and Southend join us. Blundell Park is always a good trip with a bit of an edge, and we’ve managed to randomly avoid Southend for years so I’ve never been to Roots Hall.

You need to be careful of that attitude or you'll start accepting you're a non-league team. It should always be seen as shameful and embarrassing to be down here.

We don't score goals, so firstly we somehow have to sneak 2 wins, highly unlikely, then we have to hope Scunny lose their remaining fixtures 4 or 5 nil a piece.

I'm finding it ridiculous this has gone on as long as it has, we haven't even been middling in terms of quality at any point during the season, the bottom end of League Two is so bad we are still not relegated.

Last played you 04-05 season, I remember the game at Notts, Adam Barrett in the scoring form of his life, we won 2-1 in what was just a magnificent season, how times change!
Prior to that it was the 94-95 season in the 2nd tier. Previous to that we actually played each other a lot.

From an away day and selfish point of view hope you don't make the play offs, one of the best trips in this division.

Been to Roots Hall a couple of times, decent trip with a load of boozers down the front. Some decent battles with Southend including the Anglo-Italian cup semi! And a 4-0 win at ML in a relegation six-pointer where the Southend keeper (Sansome?) was sent off and Stan Collymore played up top.

We haven't played Southend since we beat them in the LDV vans final in 2005. Great day.

It's glory days like the LDV vans final that make the away days at Wealdstone and Boreham Wood more bearable

Ugarte and Ferguson that day were unbelievable, both easily could've made it in the Championship. I know Ugarte got injured but we must've been paying Fergie insane amounts.

Hilarious that we turned him down as manager and hired Brian Carey instead.

I started thinking about season after posting about the Vans final and got angry all over again. If we hadn't been the first club to be deducted points for going into administration we wouldn't have gone down that season and we may not even have ended up in the Conference a few years later. I think that squad was our last decent team.

We'd have still had that c*** Hamilton as an owner I suppose so something disastrous may still have happened.

Surely if such a travesty ever occurred it has been burned out of memory
What game
If a tinpot side does the double over a BELT, in a season do they get promoted to the Brotherhood.

Talking of Doubles, have any of you lot won the Non League Double.

Just the name Juan Ugarte gives me shudders. I was so excited when we signed him as he was banging in hat tricks every other game for you lot. But wow he was rubbish. Weather that was due to his ridiculous injury water skiing in the summer I don’t know.

His tenure at Crewe baffled me. I was devastated to see him leave and thought he would score buckets for you.

He was shite when he came back, I do think that injury did him in.

I’m afraid not as otherwise FC Halifax would have gained entry in 13/14 and that can never be allowed to happen.

was water skiing the reason he got injured?? I never knew that.

He was never the same after his injury though, he relied on playing off the shoulder of the last man and running into space at the right time, his legs were done as a result of the injury

you havent had much luck with ex wrexham strikers playing for you really!!
