So from what I've seen, Theo is deliberating over signing a new contract. He bent us over last time when we were desperate. Has he shown enough to warrant a pay rise? He's picking up injuries fairly regularly and can't seem to get game time.

Personal opinion, I think he should just sign a new contract without a pay rise, (Currently on £100k PA) Or we should just move him on.

Well he's hardly an integral part of the team at the moment, so I'd just go along with what you've said. Trouble is the only people who'd take him off of you are going to be rivals for top 4 positions, and he'd fill their sides quite nicely, so it's not all just about losing a player as much as improving your competition.

Even putting his injury concerns aside, you have to ask is he going to be able to hold down a regular first team spot? To be honest, does he even know his best position?

I'm not really sure Walcott has much bargaining power in this situation. I'm sure Arsenal would be reluctant to lose him, but I certainly don't think they need him. If his demands are unreasonable or unrealistic, Arsenal could certainly survive without him.

Good point. If he kept fit, he'd be a monster at Liverpool.

I doubt he'd want to come but I'd love him at United.

His ability to score plenty of goals as a wide forward but mainly his pace would really free up Rooney/Di Maria and Mata to have that little bit of extra space to show their undoubted quality.

Walcott----Mata----Di Maria

Rooney

What a great attack that would be.

I can see him moving to Liverpool. He's a Liverpool fan isn't he?

Any team wanting to make a run for league surely would be more suited chasing a less injury prone player who can contribute for a full season.

Robben would never have joined top clubs if they all followed that philosphy.

But robben as proven to be world class at times. Walcott hasn't. Robben is for and ready to play when it counts. Walcott misses them moments.

No way should we let him go. Injuries aside he's been one of our best players in the past few years and he's one of the few who turns up for big matches. I think with him being out for so long it's been forgotten how good he can actually be.

I'm not having that. He's got the ability, if only he could stay fit...

These two GIFs pretty much sum his up over recent seasons.

I'd have him at Liverpool, especially if we bought him just before his final contracted season commenced and therefore Arsenal would need to sell him at a sensible price. After Suarez they'd do all they can not to sell us anyone though.

He'll sign a new deal at Arsenal anyway.

At Bayern maybe. I don't remember Chelsea or Madrid fans being too heartbroken about losing him.
He still got more moments on the pitch that Walcott ever does. If he keeps getting injured his pace is going to go soon and that's his main strength

I suspect being at Arsenal is one of the reasons he gets injured as often as he does.

Showed a lot of promise coming through, but has never really delivered on it apart from in spurts. He should be thankful the club still want him and sign a deal for his current salary and be happy with that.

Probably not wrong.

I'm a big fan of Walcott, his movement is vital to us and he's our best weapon against teams looking to push up and press high against us. Without him we get overrun. But it's an incredibly brave side that plays that against Walcott. Even turned the game against Barca at their peak.

I'd get rid. I know he's been unlucky with injuries but so has the rest of the Arsenal squads for years. If I were Arsenal, I wouldn't offer him a contract extension as his performances are far too inconsistent when he is fit (which he rarely is) and if I were Theo, I'd look elsewhere as spending your whole career at one club where your time was more spent on the treatment table than on the actual pitch must be frustrating.
When is his contract up?

Walcott has had one major injury but not a lot of smaller ones. He's not injury prone at all, never has been. He was in great form before he did his knee, it'll take time to get back to that.

But is he worth what he's reported to be asking?

Raheem's waiting to see if we get CL football again (as well as a pay increase). I imagine Theo wants more money and more assurances he'll play upfront sometimes.

Both will probably sign in the summer and stay. God, I hope we get top 4.

Yeah agree with this. Almost certain both players will stay (especially Sterling, who has no reason at all to leave. He's still so young and moving would be a massive gamble for his career.)

No way should Liverpool be contemplating Walcott. The injury problems are the biggest turn off, but he's also lost a lot of the pace he relied on.
He lacks technique and wouldn't fit into our constant pressing style.

I haven't watched Walcott much since he's been back but I don't think he's lost his pace. He has no real control though overall. Yes he'll do something spectacular occasionally, but more often than not his technique will let him down.
