Opposing the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre!!!!
Basically, it's a PC.

What, that exact one or a similar one based on Android? Or were you extracting the urine? :hypo:
Like Stagat I didn't know what the hell you were talking about. Next time say it's a PC and spare us the esoteric mumbo jumbo:lac:

Not everyone on here is a technophobe, there will be quite a few people who know exactly what it is and what I was referring to with Kodi. :told:

This, which I bought and arrived today. Perfect Kodi media server for my TV, some nice plugins will be getting installed tonight. Amazing for the price considering it comes with a fully licenced install of Windows 10.

Interesting box. Will it be able to handle W10 and still output HD stuff without stuttering? Impressive if it can. I've got an old Asus box round the back of my telly, but it has a custom linux install which is basically a frame for XBMC to sit on and not use much resources. Come to think of it, my XBMC install on there is about 4 years old! Think it's probably time to re-image it

Looking at the benchmarks it should be fine. My only slight worry is running my VPN on it at the same time as Kodi, so with it unencrypting all the internet traffic at the same time as pumping out a 1080p stream, I'm hoping it doesn't lead to stutter and dropped frames. It works fine on 4k Youtube videos according to a couple of reviews I've seen. I'll let you know how it does. I bet everyone can't wait.

I fucking bet they will! I bet Rachel can't believe her luck!

I fucking wish.

Let me know how it handles it and I might get myself one, my media server probably needs to be replaced. I mostly use local files hosted from my WD MyBookLive (my crappy ADSL throws a right **** if you try to stream HD or 4K media) so a VPN wouldn't be really needed.

If we are talking jacket spud rubbed in olive oil then sprinkled with a salt, pepper and smoked paprika rub, then you will find very little argument from me.

I don't understand what one of those boxes that Pags is talking about can do that a HMDI cable to a laptop or a PS/Xbox can't.

Hey guys, I've just bought a phalate free, USB compatible, 360° rotating, rectal stimulation device. It cost £100 and I could use my finger, but it's just so me.

It acts like a set top box to allow you to browse, find and stream any TV Show or movie you want from the comfort of your sofa through an easy to use UI. The plug ins look through sites like Putlocker and such to find the best quality copy for you, you just click 'play'. Of course a HDMI to a laptop gets a similar result, but who wants to be connecting it up, trying to find something on your laptop crouched down in front of your TV, or having a 4 metre long HDMI cable trailing across your room. It's a convenience thing as much as anything, but they are very useful.

Speaking of media boxes, I'm really liking the look of the Nvidia Shield - http://shield.nvidia.co.uk/android-tv

Downloading or streaming things off the internet isn't that much of an inconvience.

Plugging in a cable and searching for a link is an inconvience now?

It's more convenient to use a media server to do it for you while you sit on your sofa with a beer being a lazy sod. It's one of those things whereby you don't see the point until you actually get one. They are very useful

Also good if you've got loads of shit already stored on your local network somewhere and you'd like to be able to easily stream it

I like how technology now allows you to stay stationary on your sofa, rather than having to get on the old knees to put in dat hdmi.

(I haven't actually got one of those and am very happy connecting my laptop, though I mass download most of the stuff I'd wanna watch put em on the good ol USB and stick it into the tv)

You know that laptops and TVs sync without HDMIs these days?

I can't understand how you could buy one if you don't see the point in one, and I really don't. £130 so I didn't have to go to the same website to watch things and then press the button on my laptop to make it appear on the TV.
