Shame to see him going back to the states, i personally think he could still do a decent job for any top flight team, a keeper that never got the credit he deserved IMO. A great servant to Everton over the years, winning them alot of points, better than the chap they got in goal now in my book.

He's been a little inconsistent over the last year or so. Quality keeper, I still rate him highly and would continue to do well at Everton had he decided to stay on. But at 37, I can imagine it'd be hard to say no to a $2.5million a year contract for 3 years.

That being said, I'd have imagined him moving to a larger MLS club.

He's getting paid more than all the other MLS keepers combined. As the national sides keeper he's really just a marquee signing that's not going to impress for me. Like Gerrard currently.

You watch Everton every week then i presume?

He's cost us about 15 points this season alone.

Yeah, there's no way any Premiership club would be offering a contract to a 37-year-old keeper who's clearly declined. It was always going to be either retirement or MLS for him after his Everton contract came to an end.

I know it's unlikely, selling to the competition and bitter rivals. But Liverpool need an upgrade on Mignolet, would be a good short term signing if they can't pull in the big keepers until they're back in the CL.

Yeah not all teams have the luxury of a top class keeper falling into their hands by luck like Arsenal.

Liverpool should go for Leno.

Jay Leno? His chin would certainly be a boon to make the goal shorter.

[That photo is utterly magnificent, only a Yank could come up with a look like that. :D ]

Bernd Leno of Leverkusen. I think he'd command a lower wage than Jay.

Yeah, but you can't lie he's done a great job over the years, despite being inconsistent this season. Good luck to him in the US, will always remember his performance in WC 2014. Bloody superb.

i agree he has overall been an asset fair play, but this season awful since his world cup exploits actually

Awful for me is a little harsh, then again i admittedly don't watch much of Everton. But I agree, since WC 2014 he has gone downhill really.

Good servant, but he's been past it for the last couple of seasons now. He's been fairly fortunate to stay in the Everton side as long as he has to be honest.

Always been a decent keeper until last season where he just turned awful. Unfortunately it took Martinez 18 months to drop him. Wish him well when he goes

Ah fair enough, I hadn't heard of him tbh, and a squirrel in goal would be an upgrade on Mignolet anyway.

The abuse he gets these days from Everton fans is pretty disgraceful to be honest.

Fair enough he's in decline but he's been a hell of a servant for them, their woefully inept defence and poor management has cost them as many if not more goals than Howard this season
