Maybe we should entertain ourselves over the course of the season with some kind of tinpot-league... points awarded for different tinpot actions and put into a table, and at the end of the season Mansfield declared winners.
like no steak in the meat and potato pies, watery bovril and the like.
Izal toilet rolls.

Can't deny that the facilities for visiting supporters at ours are fully worthy of the label of tinpot. Apparently vegan bovril is supposed to be being added to the catering options this season, though. Just a pity Girish's fantastic samosas are only available up his stall in Stroud now, not at the ground.

So you finally get to the top of that killer hill and you’re greeted by a cup of vegan bovril.

Well that’s just great.

Surely vegan bovril is just diluted marmite. Puking at the thought of it.

In the past clubs have been deemed tin pot after having spent time in non-league.
On that criteria at least 15 EFL2 clubs are tin pot and are therefore in a majority:

Barrow
Bristol Rovers
Carlisle
Colchester
Crawley
FGR
Harrogate
Hartlepool
Leyton O
Mansfield
Newport
Salford
Stevenage
Sutton
Tranmere

What about Barrow? They’re an ex EFL club too.

Also how many years does a club need to spend in the league before it can be consider applying for partial proper club status? Are Cheltenham, Stevenage or Morecambe getting close?

Being relegated to non league doesn’t make you a tinpotter. Being a historic non league club does.

Always thought that years spent in the football league defined proper status? You never know In a few years decades centuries time even we might become a proper club.

Don't think we should count since according to this we haven't been non-league in the past 1800 years.

Back in those days were were called Luguvalium Uniuntur and the Conference featured a young Kevin Ellison.

You forgot Exeter, I know they were definitely down there cos we played them when we were down there.

In fact (just checked) they were down there for 5 years, which is as long as Mansfield who your argument seems directed at. You're not Devonlad in disguise are you?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but we're all tinpot. The National league's the place to be these days. It's no joke man there's Wrexham, Stockport, Notts and Chesterfield down there.

And just how many big clubs are in this league? Off the top of my head I can only think of Carlisle, Exeter, Hartlepool, Bradford, Swindon, Oldham, Port Vale, Brovers, Tranmere, Mansfield, Walsall, Rochdale, Scunthorpe....oh doh!!!

Northampton and Colchester? There’s basically seven I think proper clubs in the Conference and would go to eight if want to include Aldershot. This league is way more proper even now.

National League this season probably less tinpot than League Two. Pretty much agree that historic pre-1986 status is what counts, but maybe some consideration for Official Honorary Tinpot Status should be granted to clubs who had to go through re-election over and over and over and over again back in the day. (Might catch Hartlepool that way, possibly also Northampton, maybe even Crewe?)

correct..
and as we were never relegated - we were voted out - we wouldn't come under that definition of tinpot anyway.
