Talking of the truly tinpot, Harrogate have yet to provide any details of ticketing arrangements for the games against Rochdale on Saturday 7th and Tuesday 10th (League Cup)...
I am fewmin. Got time off booked to do both games. I might have to go and see what Bury AFC are up to.

Reported in the M.E,N Tonight that Salford want to swap there 5k stadium the peninsular stadium which holds 5k to the AJ Bell Stadium which holds 12k with plans to extend it to 20k
This Stadium is currently shared with Salford Reds and Sale sharks.....the Sharks and Salford City would share the stadium.
They actually found a fan to get his views and said get this......................it would be great because if we go up this season we will get bigger crowds.
Checked it was not April the first .....

There is no purpose in that.

I live about half a mile part sales old ground in sale, they didn’t like the move, it’s a crap stadium in the middle of nowhere, salford got 1400 the other day, it’s not going to increase, why would they want to do that

Leyton Orient played in the top flight in 1962/63.

I know this because they beat us to promotion in the 61/62 season, the closest we've ever came to getting into the top flight.
They were promoted along with a then mediocre club called Liverpool, under the management of a relatively unknown bloke called Shankly.

The two clubs have gone in very different directions since.......

In fairness, Orient did have a decent stint in the second tier in the Seventies.

Which means that when I was a kid I must have randomly attended the only Mansfield v Orient league match in the (old) Second Division.

Because Salford have visions of grandeur which will fizzle out.
I just can't see anything big happening, I think that has already happened and they won't grow much more.
Within minutes they have UTD, City, Oldham, Bolton, Wigan, Rochdale and Stockport so its really hard to see them growing much more.
For me much much more potential in Oldham, Stockport and Wigan for growth, this happened in their pasts and all large towns within the Manchester area.
Salford struggling to get over 2k home fans in the greatest ever part of their history. Pipe dream.

I saw us play Leyton Orient and Scunthorpe that season -- Both had bloody good sides.

Indeed. That’s entirely Mansfield’s fault, mind - we’ve had around 40 seasons in the second tier.

28,000+ is our record but i doubt we will ever have a stadium big enough to beat that.Even the talked about new stadium will be around 15,000 to begin with according to Mark Palios. You have to know your limitations.
Actually it is was 24,424 against Stoke in the FA Cup in 1972. 2-2 draw Rovers coming back from 2 down

Yeah. I remember Bristol Rovers and Leyton Orient coming to Scunthorpe. I was there at the Old Show Ground. Remember Liverpool coming too. Bit of trivia - World Cup winner Roger Hunt made his league debut at home against Scunny. He scored of course.

How have you got on since Evatt declared yourselves the best in League One?

loving life in lge 1 consolidation is the buzz word this year. We have a good solid 9/10 players who will be here next season then we will cull the other 20 odd players who have got no where near our first team. That is where Tinpot lge 2 come in. you will sign them and they will be your star players next season.

Dont worry tinpot is not exclusive to lge2, it was quite evident at plymouth last night with the game not being abandoned.

We will laugh and joke about those trips to Devon in three or four years time when we are having pre match drinks before a European night

Bolton are rightly considered one of England's historic major clubs.
Tragedy that piss poor bad management caused their downfall to 4th tier football.
Good that they are now in a league, one or perhaps two divisions, where below they should be.
BUT the likelihood of Bolton playing European football is out with the clouds.

Why???
It was not bad management, it was living beyond our means and rank bad luck with injuries
The chances of playing in European Football may be around 10% in the next 20 years but thats what you should aim for.
Bolton as a club and the foundations infrastructure is the strongest it has been since Allardyce left.
Blank canvas for our management team and i would say as a club they proberbly have the best chance of returning to the premier league in the next 5 years bar Sunderland outside the Championship

Why is it?

Burnley did it ffs.

No club of that size will be breaking into the top 6 or 7 again in the near future imo, especially now Newcastle are Saudi owned. Gonna be virtually impossible to compete unless you’ve got 100m+ to spend every summer.

Genuinely pleased for club

Premiership seems to be more of a closed shop. Teams such as Sheff Utd or Bournemouth pay short visits before returning to Championship. Bolton will probably become and remain a decent Championship team

10% in the next 20 years? Bloody hell. You haven't changed. I'd put it at less than 1%. Around 10% you'll even be back in the Prem in the next 20 years, not Europe..

Not really relevant to L2 but I wouldn’t say you stood more chance than Ipswich who are just throwing money around or Wednesday who are a far bigger club than Bolton. No disrespect but you missed your boat returning to the Premier League now the parachute payments are long gone (something that shouldn’t exist in my book but that’s the situation everyone faces).

Not surprised at your negative outlook Devon Lad....You follow a team that has that complete outlook
I told you last season that we would go up straight away and you just ridiculed me....i accept that, you put your view across i put mine.....it never got personal like one or two

I said and you can go into the search engine that we would be promoted followed by a season of consolidation then another promotion meaning we would be in the Championship at the end of Evatts 3 year contract......i stand by that

I agree Europe is a pipe dream though not impossible
Getting to the premier league honestly does not bother me, been there etc.
Parachute payments mean nothing whatsoever, if you have players on 40k a week who are not in your first 11 the parachute payments soon get eaten up

Thank God we're talking about Bolton again :D League Two must be their spiritual home, they keep dropping by.
Bit like Jim Bowen on bullseye.....look what you could off won
Chances next season you can have a good day out in Bolton.....Chips,pudding and gravy would be worth your promotion for that alone

It's not a 'negative' (or a positive) Outlook. I don't support Bolton. It's a realistic one. How many teams have gone from League 2 to European away days within 21 years?
