Not seen a thread for this Tuesday night game so I thought I'd start one.

Exeter have been the best side I have seen at the Mill this season when they beat us 2-0 in November.

Since our return to the League, this will be our third visit to St James with us winning both previous occasions . However one of the wins in Devon was purely down to MOM Rakish Bingham putting in a wonderful performance with him not being here this time we might struggle.

Only expect about 50 travelling Staggies tomorrow, let's hope it don't rain on that open terrace.

Yeah, we always struggle at home to Mansfield for some reason, although, we struggle at home against pretty much everyone.

Can see us drawing which does absolutely nothing for our cause. 1-1 with Harley from the spot.

3-2 to us. Nicholls with 2 and Stockley.

Mansfield will be a tough opponent but we have to win to keep the pressure on those ahead of us. If we lose, it's all over for another season.

We've taken the beach towels back out of the suitcases. I expect us to go for it and make a good account of ourselves, despite the Grecian charge.

Too little too late for us, hopefully we'll keep the form and take it into next season.

As said on stagsnet - 3 wins in a row is a little late - but we've much to build on and can be encouraged by the recent performances.

I think we could be good bet for the top 7 next season

This squad is more or less together for next season. Losing Tafazolli and replacing him would be massive; however, it all bodes well for next season and if Murray can weave a bit of transfer magic then we have as much chance as anyone at challenging for promotion next season.

Good win boys. Onwards to Saturday.

Certainly would need to replace taff - there's talk he'll stay but I'd be very surprised (though delighted if he did).

Also we'd need a decent forward to go with green - again we've got lucky with him regarding injuries this season but we can't just rely on him - the quality of forwards after him is pretty poor.

What is nice this season is that we've got players chipping in with goals across the park

I like Yussuf, if he manages to get himself fit over the summer he could be a real threat in L2. We definitely need someone who has a record of scoring to go with Green too though. I think we'll probably see Blair Adams in Mansfield shirt as well next season.

I've got a feeling that Taff will pen a new deal, he clearly likes playing here and he wants to be part of it. Obviously we've seen in the past that he's had a couple of attractive offers playing higher up in the ladder so it would be considered a right coup.

We were terrible, so were Mansfield but they scored a couple good goals and won the game. Home form has cost us again this season. Minor positive is that Watkins scored another goal but nothing else to take from the game. Mansfield know how to beat us at our place. Lump it long into our box at every opportunity as they know we are incapable of defending. Not at all pretty but I'd rather be winning games so fair play to them.

Yep the first 70 mins were utter shite. Why the fuck we played with no tempo I will never know. Mansfield had it very easy as we were so bad and as GOG says, we can't defend for toffee.

Benning's goal was a superb strike, totally unsaveable, but in the buildup we gave the ball away twice, which led to the corner before Benning scored. The other two goals were weak defending too.

We played well for about 10 minutes and scored a couple of good goals, paricualrly Ribeiro's, but you can't expect anything from a game where you don't turn up for the vast majority.

Well done Mansfield. Season over for us, sadly.

At least the atmosphere was good again, just a shame we can't give the SJP faithful some regular home wins. We've only won twice at home in the league since October. Not good enough.

We've had it easy and been shit in pretty much every one of our 17 wins this season, when you listen to the opposition.

In fact we've only got 62pts because they've been handed to us by the opposition. Luckiest club in the country.

Mansfield deserved to win that game. A draw would have been daylight robbery.

We have to improve next season.

Of late our set pieces have been very good. Teams can't deal with the high ball into the box, All 3 goals last night came from a free kick, a corner and long throw. We missed 2/3 good chances to put the game to bed though which was frustrating.

Still very impressive given Exeter's form and the Benning strike was well worth the 10 hour round trip. I've felt it at work today though. Hopefully a couple more wins to end the season on a high.

On another note a weekend in Exeter is a must next season, the lasses are unbelievable!

Don't get me wrong, the better team won, but we are notoriously bad a defending crosses into our box and Mansfield exploited that, so fair play.

It's just so frustrating when we make things so hard for ourselves.

In fairness at times this season (especially at home) we haven't been at all easy on the eye, so it's partially understandable why sides who lose to us think we're shit.

Consequently, I think Exeter were the best side i've seen at Field Mill this season, shows how odd the league is

We've only won 7 at home Adam and easily beaten all of Newport, Stevenage, Hartlepool, Notts and Crawley. I think the only fans grumbling about results at Field Mill have North Notts allegiances.

I think the home form this season as been pretty poor, 29 points from 21 home games is a poor show. We've been fortunate we've been decent and stubborn away.

I think Murray was burnt by the Bristol Rovers game at home, and it's only recently that we've started to gain confidence at home again

Maybe so but Field Mill must be the worst place in the bottom 2 leagues to play your home games at when you are out of form or low on confidence. The one game I recall us actually getting behind them when going behind was either Morecambe or Dagenham, and we won!

The atmosphere is pretty poor tbh at times, it's as though there are some who are waiting for us to lose or take enjoyment when we do lose, it's bizarre

For some sick reason, some Mansfield "fans" find pleasure in slagging everything and body off and have the biggest grin on themselves when we lose and then post on Stagsnet that they want Radford and Murray out.

Some of these "fans" who want radford out are delusional. It makes little sense.
