So with the majority of the games falling foul to the weather tonight is a reduced program but two survive

Conference Premier

Alfreton v Lincoln

Have you seen our away record this season? Tonight is a good chance to improve on it but still, I wouldn't bet on us away from home.

Hi Mate. This is a really tough one.

If we play like we did on Saturday it will be 6-0 Lincoln. If Lincoln continue their away struggles we may have half a chance. If Lincoln transfer their home form to their away matches that I think they will sneak it.

I am gonna say Alfreton 2-3 Lincoln. Wouldnt put Lincoln on your acca they are a real coupon buster. Enjoy the game!

There are never any must-win games at this stage of the season but seen as, after tonight, we'll have played 2 or 4 more than those around us, we need points on the board from tonight's game if we're half serious about a PO push.

Newton jarred his ankle at the weekend and went off, so he's a doubt.

A win tonight for us would be massive! It would give everyone confidence boost and pile the pressure on Southport ahead of Saturdays huge Six pointer. Do I believe we can get the win? Yes. We need to replicate our performance back in November against Eastleigh. We carried a real threat going forward in that game and pressed them high while still looking extremely vunverable at the back.

Having said all that I just dont think Lincoln will miss the volume of chances Eastleigh did on that night but I hope I am wrong!

This match thread is going to be exciting!

Was it worth it etc. ;)

Really want us to get through and face Ferriby, but won't be totally disappointed if we lose.

Not going be the most exciting now but there is a large group of Lincoln fans on here. One match is one match.

That is a concern David. Looking at the weather their is a possibility of a snow flurry and the temp is going to dip again after 7pm.

Called off early enough that most Lincoln fans probably wouldn't have left yet. Not a big surprise either

They took the frost covers off earlier this afternoon and were confident the game would be on.

That call could've been made mid-afternoon IMO. As soon as those covers came off, it was going to freeze, especially if they took them off at noon.

Certainly some Imps fans already in Alfreton, not rocket science but it's really annoying the groundsman said that no need for a pitch inspection and game certain to go on only for the ref to turn up at 6 to deem 10% of the pitch frozen and unplayable ☺️

Quite a few had got there or set off. The team coach was almost there when they got the call it was off.
As someone said the other day, playing midweek games this time of the year is a very hit and miss affair.

Tinpot shock....not.

We wouldn't be in this position had our hosts actually made the effort to get the game on in the first instance.

Oh well, never mind, I'm sure Alfreton will love all of these games in hand in quick succession as they try to chase down a 10+ point gap when it comes round to it.

Kind regards.

I've not listened to the Alfreton Chairman's interview, but a few people have said he came across as a right cock.

Mind you, I think it was Underwood interviewing him...

Far from me be a B2TF sympathiser on this forum, but fuck me, he has a point about the mentalities of the less illustrious clubs in this division at times.

I think there is no doubt we are to blame. However Wayne is not the sort to amdit fault under ANY circustances. Its just the way he is. I did think the interviewers were quite rude. No " I commend or coming on here this morning Wayne or the such like". I can think of many a chairman wouldnt have done a thing.

I think the truth of the matter is he/the club where desperate to get the game on due to our cash flow problems and didnt actually step back and think and we took the covers off waay too early.

Do you not have a local ref. that could have come in and inspected early and make a decision? We are lucky, we have two Premier League refs within 10 miles who are always happy to come in and help. The problem with part time refs is they don't get there until they finish work and then make there inspection. They don't care whether the game is played or not, they still get paid. Far better to get a local ref in early to make the shout.

Yes. All the noises coming out of the club where that a pitch inspection by a local ref wasnt needed. But when Wayne went on the radio he said a local ref did come and say the pitch would be fine.
