Widen the scope to include non-animated films, they've done some pretty good films like Pirates of the Caribbean, The Muppets and the Mighty Ducks. Lets have it as a pure and simply Disney list. 50 might also be a good number, 100 seems too much.

I'd say keep live action in as well, personally. But the question for me is where we draw the line with companies they own... I'd say that the likes of Star Wars and Marvel movies should be out, but what about Pixar?

Regardless, whatever happens, this is a great idea for a top 50/100 list.

The problem removing animation is you do remove afew films which may get into lists.

At the risk of spoiling this list before it's even started, there are a number of issues I would like to clear up. Disney films released by their 2 studios directly are obviously fine. But then there are a mass of sub companies who have released some decent films over the decades, but did so under Disney's direction, funding and control. Do they count? There have been companies that signed fixed term film and year contracts with Disney to release films.

Does Touchstone count as Disney? Because it was created specifically by Disney and has ran under their banner ever since they were founded in the 80s. And to be fair, they have some quality films like 'Good Morning, Vietnam', 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit', 'Dead Poets Society', 'The Prestige' and 'Lincoln'. Are they ok?

What about some of the now defunct or sold companies that released some good films under the Disney banner, probably using some of their creative talents and definitely using Disney funds. Spyglass(the Sixth Sense), Dimension(The Crow), Miramax, Hollywood Pictures etc. Do they count?

As for Pixar, no way should it count! How much influence does Disney have over those films? It certainly had none prior to the takeover in 2006. So how can you include Pixar and have people thinking Toy Story 1 and 2 deserve in a Disney films list?

To me, if Pixar counts then why can't Lucasfilms or Marvel? Whilst I know it would impact on the list quite a bit, to save confusion I think it should be strictly Walt Disney Pictures and Walt Disney Animation Studios films only. So no sub companies, no companies bought in take overs etc. Leaves no room for misinterpretations and very suspect choices.

John Lasseter oversees both so I would say Disney doesn't so much have an influence over Pixar but is near enough one of the same.

Surely no problem with including sub companies providing the movie nominations were produced post-Disney takeover? And yeah live action is pretty much a no brainer. Mary fucking Poppins, man.

Right, I've made my mind up. I'll be accepting the animated Disney stuff (Lion King, Aladdin etc), Live action (Mary Poppins, Cool Runnings etc.) and Pixar movies.

Start sending your lists in, I want twenty films per list (shut up Steven). Deadline is the finish of Rammy's TV show list, so Christmas this year.
