We haven't signed anyone but we've literally kept our starting 11 from last year which is a significant improvement on where we were this time last year. With a fit Stubbsy and now a solid Chieck, to think we will even be in the bottom half is incomprehensible. But you're from Plymouth, so intelligence isn't your forte. We will be minimum top half, at the absolute very minimum. I'd put our chances of play offs around 85% and 14% of automatics with about a 1% chance we finish anywhere in the bottom half.
Your life is either that boring that you are on a constant wind up online (which would be understandable, living in Exeter), or you’ve been out of L1 for so long that you simply haven’t got a clue. I still haven’t decided which!

We came above Vale and they beat numerous L1 opposition last season. I know many of your players well and I'm 100000% confident our starting 11 absolutely destroys them. No ifs, no buts. Let us not forget you've done 'not-too-bad' and you went up with a team that wouldn't have even got to L1 if the season wasn't curtailed from Covid. Winning on PPG after 3 home games, more away games left than anyone else and much harder oppo. The absolute horseshit that this league is so supreme in the top half is laughable and deluded. FGR will be the only team to struggle next term, and that's because they have lost most of their L2 winning team.

Numpties similiar to yourself called me on a wind up for 6 months last season when I said we'd win the league when we were outside the play offs by a few points, they started to eat their words when we were top on the last day of the season. Thankfully goal difference stopped 99% of posters in the L2 forum having egg on their face. And it'll be a repeat this season.

We haven't made signings, although 4 or 5 will be coming in this week and next, and we have kept the same starting 11 as last year - so we don't need the mass panic signings other clubs have been showing.

If you think the starting 11 we had last season would struggle this year in L1 seriously makes me think you're brain dead.

Let us not forget you just signed Morgan Whittaker from Swansea, who ex-Grecian Matt Gill, Swansea assistant manager, close friend of Sir Matt Taylor tried to get us to take on but we turned him down because he wouldn't make our starting 11 and they wanted him to have game time.

Yet you think taking on people we've turned down will make us relegated and you finish above us.

The brain cells between your ears match the amount of points and goals you'll get and score against us this season (The answer is nil)

Wycombe are predicted to win the league by some super computer. You haven't even got them in the top 6.
and it's a fair shout not to have us in the top 6 I'd say, at least based on the strength of our signings.

We've lost a couple of key players who we haven't yet replaced - I do expect us to replace them, but without those signings in the door, I wouldn't tip us for a playoff spot, let along winning the league.

The newly promoted posters have really livened up this forum. The Phoney War has been very entertaining and I now can't wait for the real battles to commence! :box:

Think it's only the gas that havent got any beef with the other west country sides in L1, or each other!
Meh, mainly on this forum because most of the posters are 50 year old plus and their opinions are largely at odds with the vast majority of the fan base, but they fit squarely in line with the morons on Exeweb.

I doubt Bolton vs Exeter and Bolton vs Wednesday will pass without a few cross words on here either.

As for Exeter, I can't remember who it was but I faintly remember someone from the 70s/80s era Anfield boot room saying it's always time to strengthen, particularly so when you are strong. But the window doesn't shut for ages yet.

Obviously it doesn't shut for ages which is why we will be getting 4 or 5 quality additions to add to squad depth and to compete for places, rather than just random squad fillers in mass numbers. Should always strengthen, and we will strengthen - but our team at the moment is already good enough to compete at the high-end of the division (bar perhaps a keeper, but like I've said previously, Lee is more than good enough to do a job for us already).

It’s lucky us Vale fans on here are such good standup fellows with no beef with anyone. At least that will be until one of your teams benefits from a dodgy refereeing decision against us then you are fucking getting it.

You were very good last season no arguments there, but L2 was shocking. We only started playing from January and still got autos.
You can get away with a lot in L2, different ball game in L1 although I still think all promoted sides will stay up

I bet you boys are still smarting from our 0-0 draw in the last game before lockdown when you were adamant you should have had a penalty, despite our player clearly getting the ball

I’d actually forgotten about that until you mentioned it but now you’ve brought that up Strouds one man beef with you is nothing compared to this now…

I seem to remember the season before as well there being some goal we scored against you that was chalked offside which prompted Vale to stick a 10 paragraph official club statement up on the website complaining about our treatment by refs.

The one he gave and then was over ruled by his linesman was correct to be fair, the one on Conlon was a stone waller... its ok though it only cost us a play off spot!... although probably for the best as the 20/21 side in League One with Theo Robinson leading the line would have been messy!

We dont have any real beef with anyone in this league, Crewe relegated and Walsall losing their cup finals now we are up, we softened up with Shrewsbury since the Adams days and whilst we are scum of the earth in parts of deepest Wiltshire we will have to make do with Swarlton Athletic for the likes of Garner and Egbo to come for our blood.

Burton is probably our closest aside in terms of location and we've never had any hostility towards them.

Bristol Rovers and Us seem to have a mutual respect because of DC and being similar clubs in a small city with a bigger rival and we haven't played many sides at this level for a while, Sheff Wednesday 2010 when Fraser pretty much ended Jeffers EFL career, Ipswich and Derby decades ago, Portsmouth I think the last time was 2000 when the useless Finn Ville Viljanen scored a wonder goal.

Should be fun...

Both of those with Walsall and Swindon are very much Twitter based ones where frankly I wish all sides would move on. As it happens it’s always been cordial between us and them two clubs on this forum or at least it has been to me anyway even after the playoff game. Do feel for any Charlton fans who might be wondering why the very hostile reaction they will get when they come to VP next season though.

It’s interesting you seem to bang on about keeping the squad together. If you know so much about our players, then you’d know that we have kept every player in our squad and only added to it. That squad managed to accumulate 80 points last season.

I’m not saying we will achieve 80 points again, that will take some doing. But we will finish above you and I look forward to smashing you lot on the 29th October at Home Park. :fing:

The other Exeter fans on here are decent, but your level of delusion is hilarious.

Brilliant, balanced post.

Unusually I fancy our chances so
Top 6
Exeter (obviously)
Sheff Wed
Ipswich
Bolton
Peterborough
Oxford or Plymouth

Really can't make my mind up on Derby

No idea on Bottom 4.

It is always good to get the thoughtful insight of other team’s supporters on one’s own team. I would be very interested in your considered and detailed opinion of our players, which ones and what you think of them. Ta, very muchly.

In L1, the main team of dislike for many gasheads is still Wycombe and their H&S team...
I don’t think I’ll ever get over that. Fucking disgrace really

For us older boys ( not including "the Shit " ) It was always Argyle from the late 60's through the 70's and so on. On and off the pitch.
