NI call up plenty of wank players.

McCourt will be the best signing of the season until mid-September tbf.

Aren't you getting a bit giddy about a guy who has only completed 90 minutes of football in England once in his entire career? Especially considering twenty minutes ago you didn't know anything about him...

Haha always a smart ass. Let's pick this discussion back up 2-3 months into the season. I've RESEARCHED, heard and seen enough to see he is an excellent addition to our squad for this level.

I think the below will be the most important signings for their respective teams;
1. Danny Green
2. Luke Berry
3. Bobby Olejnik
4. Gary Roberts
5. Adebayo Akinfenwa

I didn't know that Akinfenwa had changed clubs this summer.

I didn't know this thread was exclusive to new signings.

He re-signed this summer, and I think he'll be vital for afcw.

McCourt will be the best signing of the season until mid-September tbf.

We had a player on trial last summer who had caps for Norn Iron... Jonny Gorman. We didn't offer him a contract though, he ended up at Barrow where he was mostly used as a sub.

I never think this matters as it can all change once play starts.

If you'd told me Jamie Cureton would be probably L2 player of year last season you'd laughed, but somehow Dagenham got the best out of him.

Plus last summer we had the supposed signings and neither Dicker or Paynter did owt.

jamie cureton did better for exeter than he did for daggers. he's consistently performed when played in the right way. no surprises there tbh.

Same old story for League 2 if they are fit and playing to their strengths any mentioned could be great signings. If they throw a strop anything could happen.

Barry Corr promoted last season and a big signing for Cambridge but every time I've seen him at our place he has been truly awful. Lots of teams have made great additions and there will be some surprises, no question the league will be much stronger this season.

Not as important as Lyle Taylor. Early days, but he's potentially our best signing by far.

It's actually laughable how biased fans are to their own team and players.

Anyway my top 5:
Olejnik - Exeter
Holmes - Exeter
Oyeleke - Exeter
Brown - Exeter
Bingham - Hartlepool

Who?

Two of our debutants scored yesterday and Magnay put in an 8/10 performance.

Wither the others?? :cool1:

On yesterday's performance I'd say Troy Brown has been a great signing. He won everything in the air and is strong and fairly quick too.

Also considering he's only about 40% fit Will Hoskins showed an excellent striker's instinct to score our winner yesterday. If he can gain full fitness for a prolonged period he will be a top striker at this level.

Stead was really, really good. Should prove to be a brilliant signing for us. None of the foreigners were noticeably terrible either! :D

He was really good to be fair, talentwise I'd guess Amevor is top of the foreigner pile given his age and attributes. He was also playing out of position at left-back, no idea why he was following up a shot when we were 1-0 up away from home but I'm glad he was. For a gigantic athletic bloke I'm not sure he's physical enough (minus his little wrestling match) to be a centre-back yet/ever, but he could be a hell of a full-back.
