Depay is depressing. I do think he'll be better in another system though, he needs space to run into and a chance to utilise his pace, pretty much impossible with LVG's insipid incredibly slow build up. If Mourinho comes in, I think he'll bounce back in a counter-attacking system, he has a lot of talent.

he has raw talent but he's stupid as fuck, constantly making the wrong decisions. him or thauvin imo. at least depay played some football this season.

it's funny salty mentions firmino, given his biggest critics were impatient liverpool fans with delusions of grandeur.

But but Depay was supposed to be the next Ronaldo, and win the league title for United this season...

They were understandably concerned it was another £30 mill down the chanty. He is really finding his feet now though, and I hope he can push on next season.

I know right. There's no 'h' in Firmino.

I'd say Benteke or Depay for the money spent. Overall I'd go for Depay, at least Benteke started off well and has scored a few match winning goals.

Sounds like the winger that Liverpool had a few years back. The name escapes me now, but I am sure he was dutch, fast but dumb when it came to football.

Fair to say Depay hasn't impressed. But Depay isn't helped by the fact that every time he gets the ball, he's out on the flank 40 yards from the goal touchline and there's two banks of four in front of him to try and beat. There's probably one centre forward in front of him. He has to try beating multiple defenders himself, then pick out a ball to said lone forward who is also surrounded by multiple defenders. 9 times out of 10 he's going to struggle there, and any winger would. If United were less turgid and slow, the opposition wouldn't be so banked and organised.

Only 1 of Bentekes goals was a consolation, so the other 6 all helped with results. Depay has also scored 1 consolation goal, leaving him with 4 that helped results. Given that Benteke is a striker, I'm not sure the diffrence is big enough in his favour. And he did cost a bit more.

Let's not forget Benteke's first goal was a hideous miscarriage of justice that should be struck from the record! ;) So bad it brought about a letter to all 20 PL clubs confirming what the offside rule actually is!

Otamendi at £33 million looks hilarious as well considering Spurs managed to get Alderweireld at more than £20 million less.

How has Pedro only got 2 votes. He'd struggle to look good in the Villa team

Having seen tonights game, it is a good job that Shrewsbury left their riverside location, otherwise the ball boy in the dinghy would have been overworked.

I am of course referring to Depay's 'shooting'

While it's not relevant, it's probably because he's the most proven player on the list (bar Falcao of course, but he's a different player now). People still expect him to come good eventually I think, which affects their judgment quite naturally. Also, he's underperforming in an underperforming team. Could very well come good still.

What's funny is that Firmino is second on the list, and he's one of our key players now. It says quite a bit about the lack of star quality in our team, but to call him the second biggest flop this season is way off.

One of my most memorable and enjoyable bits of this season was watching Adam Smith dominate Pedro all game at Stamford Bridge.

Wonderful, surreal stuff watching our own unfashionable English full back who nobody up here ever heard off, not just defending against but attacking and leaving for dead a World Cup winning Spaniard who cost £20m.

Agreed. And to think he sometimes partners £42 MILLION Mangala.

Easy to forget how most of us rated both Otamendi and Mangala before they went there. They're oddballs, Mangala was obviously overpriced but no one predicted that they would both fail as hard as they did. Otamendi, iirc, was on most United fans' wish list causing a bit of an outrage when he signed for the neighbors.

Talk about a bullet dodged.

Quite fortunate that we're so small that no one notices our shite signings. Yet when we make good ones, Ayew, Michu etc everyone raves about us and call us the example for other clubs.

Sorry Toddles, I know you won't want to see this stat :

'Roberto Firmino (11) has scored or assisted more Premier League goals in 2016 than any other player (7 goals, 4 assists).'

I feel like Depay is better than all of the Man United players, but he doesn't fit into a LVG team.
