Strangely optimistic for this midweek trip. I would take a point now and have a feeling we may get one. 1 - 1 for me. We need to win one draw one and lose one to maintain our meadiocracy.
Fancy us to carry on with our recently improved form and come away with at least a point, possibly all 3.
The January signings all seem to be settling in really well.
I'm not going to this game. Staying close to home. Gonna watch the U21/development squad start their defence of the London Senior Cup they won last season.
Just seen the highlights. Silly of Phillips to react but looks very much to me like Beavon didn't like the first challenge and gave him a crafty elbow to the head while they were on the ground.
Phillips, I was close to the action and there were several clashes prior to the sending off, nearly all off the ball, Beavon is no saint but he was blocked, tripped and constantly having his shirt pulled by Phillips and I wasn't surprised when he got red carded as he was beginning to lose it. Overall the Dons were well worth a point. Caught us at the right time as we lost 2 parts of the spine of the team in Blyth and Lenihan and had 2 debutants in Calero and Naylor and we never really got going as it all failed to gel.
Blyth's torn hamstring has probably ended his season but Lenihan should be back against Oxford at the weekend.
Hoping you Dons cause some of our rivals plenty of grief for the rest of the season, I really can't ever remember apart from a 6-2 thrashing 3 years ago of us ever doing well against you or the original dons way back in the Southern league.
