Fantastic news if it means they don't get Pogba, this coming season is the season where they really need to shake things up and rejuvenate the squad with younger players and remove some of the ridiculous earners they have like Toure. I'm not surprised they've struggled to shift him.

You'd need to shift Yaya's wages to do that (get Pogba) I think, especially with the home grown situation City are facing at the moment. They've got quite a lot of work to do in the coming window and I think keeping Toure is a bad move they've probably been forced into rather than one they've made out of choice.

If he can get back to his best, which at 32 years old is unlikely he's one of the best box to box midfielders in the world. Can't help but feel he's one of the players who should be moved on this summer though.

City need to clear some of the decks to be honest, if they are to challenge Chelsea next season. If he is really wanting to stay then fair enough, he may be worth it. Him and Pogba could be some combination, but you do question whether they would need both.

Pogba is clearly off to Real, did you not see the look on his face in the semi final line up at the Bernabeu?

City's team is only going to get worse. Average age of 30. They promised the Champions League and the daft sods haven't even reached a quarter final yet. They're less of an attraction now than when they first got CL football. Not a chance Pogba would jump on board a declining team like that. They're going to have to be smarter in the transfer window.

Keep all pills and rope out of poor Silksy's eyeline over the next couple of years. The breakdown he has could be hilarious but actually quite worrying if he doesn't look after himself.

Good News for United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea as he was terrible last season. He's still a decent player when he can be bothered but that seems to be rare. Perhaps City remembered his Birthday this year.

Anyway good news the more overpaid disinterested only in it for the money players City keep the better.

Terrible decision from City here, letting Milner go and keeping Toure.

I'm hoping against all hope (never going to happen I know), that we can convince him that a move back to the bright side of Birmingham would be a good idea.

I don't think it's a case of 'letting Milner go.'

He's out of contract and has been offered a new one but thinks he would get more game time elsewhere. No one can force him to sign a new deal, although I do hope he does.

He's signing for Liverpool this week by all accounts. Shame.

Excellent player in a few positions and one of the few City players that looks like he gives a shit when the going gets tough. One less homegrown player for the quota as well.

They wanted to keep him. 165k a week they offered. Not quite sure what the guy wants to be honest, he always seems to play when I see City and seems to have had his most infleuntial season from my admittedly distant view. One reason put forward has been Milner has been found to have a heightened sense of smell, which means the constant body odour problems that infest at the Etihad stadium will affect him more than most.

I have read that he wanted more guarantees of a centre midfield spot and I guess the timing of this news coming out at the same time as the Yaya news adds credence to that. I like your sense of smell theory, but that begs the question why move to Anfield?

When Toure is bothered to play he is amazing, a strong forward minded player that you don't want lurking around anywhere near the box but clearly struggles to keep motivated. Milner should have been more prioritised to out of the two I feel, more so with the homegrown shizzle.

£165k pw?! Milners great but he's not worth that.

165k, but does it include a cake bonus?

Seemed poor and disinterested this season, you'd think City could get a bit of dosh from selling him and could use those wages on player(s) who actually care.

I'm sorry, but if he's turned down £165k, I highly doubt it was for the money then, he's clearly wanting a club where he'll get more gametime in his preferred position. I highly doubt Liverpool will be paying him that!

£150k according to Paul Joyce, who's quite reliable apparently.

Well Steven Gerrard leaving opens up a CM slot at Liverpool. Also our sponsors Nivea have supplied the boys with an abundance of antiperspirants and deodorants. Changing rooms smelling FRESHHHHHH.
