He's the favourite current player of most fans (myself included) and he's coming into his prime. Annoying that he's even being rumoured to be linked away.

Can't really see us offering more and wouldn't want to really. I think 40 is a decent offer. Anything more would be madness from us, and Swansea are supposedly whacking a 50mill price tag on him to deter anyone, though if someone offers 50 they'll probably refuse that and move the price up again. I'd imagine he can be bought for 40 if one of the top clubs move for him as he'd likely be more inclined to move then and push for it himself. Everton are on the borderline I think. Wonder if they'll offer 40 soon...

Made improvements under Puel last season, but can still be upgraded. Can't play a killer pass, doesn't score and not good enough defensively for a starting eleven in the Premier League.

He's also one of those set-piece specialists that never scores and barely gets an assist from them.

Seems like this one is going to happen. Jose must really want him if he's willing to pay that much. I personally think he'll be a revelation as a player in his prime. Got everything you want in a winger; quick, good crosser with both feet, high work rate. And his goalscoring record is very good for a wide man too.

And boy do we need a winger now Valencia has fully transitioned into a RB. Micki, Mata, Lingard, Martial and Rashford can all do jobs out wide but they're all attacking midfielders or inside forwards. A more direct option is very much needed.

Not sure who he is, but hopefully he can be as successful as the last player we signed from Atletico Madrid.

Also said to be challenging Watford for Nathaniel Chalobah. Our window's hopefully kicking into life now and I'd be happy with him.

He's got a very good turn of pace and covers ground easily. Maybe not as important to him as his ability to beat a man and I agree pace isn't something we're lacking.

I can see us doing so in that case. I've wanted us to sign him for years so I'd be made up with this signing

I hope you get him, I've got my eye on him for my fantasy side this year and I'd rather he played for Everton than Swansea.

Another bonus if we did get him, he's been a good cheaper option the last couple of years

Dier would actually be a really sensible signing for United, if they could pay without going too far over the top. It's that sort of solid signing to the spine of the side that they've ignored too often in recent years, in favour of more glitzy signings.

While he's a fantastic player I'd have two qualms with it as an Evertonian. First, it's a lot of money for a 28 year old, but then again the way he plays he shouldn't decline in his early 30s. However, he's a 10 and you've surely not signed Klaassen to sit on the bench? Likewise, you're surely not signing Gylfi to play him on the wing. Klaassen I suppose can theoretically play as a nr 8, he's disciplined enough but he's not a creative player in the strictest sense of the word. Maybe you'll play Gylfi as an 8 but then you need a 6 who won't move across the halfway line. Anyway, the two signings seem to clash a bit.
