Looks like Mane is set for Liverpool. £30m.

Disappointing that we're losing him, he should be a good signing for Liverpool. Inconsistent - Yes but still rather have him playing for us than against us because he's fantastic on his day. I expect him to only get better.

There's only one thing Liverpool fans should be worried about with reference to Sadio Mane...

...Louis Van Gaal rated him highly and wanted to buy him.

Think that is a extortionate price and with that kind of money Southampton should be able to replace him. Good signing for Liverpool though definitely gives them another solid attacking option.

It's an extortionate price if Klopp isn't able to make him more consistent....

Really good player, good age, £30m a fairly standard price from now on for a proven PL player I'd have thought.

That Martial fella didn't do too bad in his first season though did he ? :D

Anyways good news for United since Sky Sources have said Mkhi Deal is complete for about 26-30 million. Fantastic signing imo.

Now, that is an STATEMENT OF INTENT. If Arsenal can't compete against a club that can't offer CL football + lure someone who is apparently an arsenal fan then it is funny when people bring up Aubameyang as someone who arsenal should target to show statement of intent.

Simple. Arsenal can't attract the likes of Aubameyang.

"that's neither true nor actually all that relevant."

Arsenal can't even attract Mkhitaryan over United. Who is a self confessed Arsenal fan, and would cost less than 30 million.

Wow getting SNUBBED by Vardy. And Arsenal fans think they are an European powerhouse smh.

To be honest, I think the majority of wide players are like this, and prefer playing centrally. Managers tend to use their pace/dribbling skills in wide areas then the middle of the pitch, which I don't always agree with.

Everton have been linked with Wesley Sneijder this week for around €7.5m. For that price I'd take a chance on him, we need a number 10 and is hope he still has a couple of years left in him. Ideally I'd like a younger player but he's a good option

At that price he's a bloody steal !.

The only thing that makes me optimistic about Mane is that the Saints fans are a bit disappointed to see him go.

But I don't know, maybe Klopp can find a bit of consistency in him. 0 goals 1 assist in something like five months will be incredibly frustrating.

Edit: Oh cool we got a new Leicester City fan.

Leicester are in for Brady. He won't be cheap given their negation tactics and his profile being raised post Euros. Good player though.

Is it possible for Liverpool to buy a Southampton player without overpaying? Just fuck off.

Why don't Liverpool sign Southampton's scouts?

There were reports last season that their board decided against signing Mane for £11m before he came here.

Oops.

Fee is £34m rising to £36m according to Solent.

I hate that we sell everything that moves, but can't complain too much with the club progressing each year.

Hopefully next year is more of the same, although I'm not feeling too optimistic.

I'm going to be polite and assume you meant we have a new member that's a Leicester City Fan, as opposed to a new fan. I was born and still live in Leicester and have supported them for 40+ years. Unlike yourself I'm not ashamed of placing on record where I live or who I support, I deeply suspect you might be a plastic Liverpool fan that lives down south somewhere :)

I agree a good player if we could get him for under 10m, but I read on here that Wesley Sneijder is available for €7.5m well worth a punt if true and his wage demands aren't stupid.

Stockport County.
Always liked Mane to be fair. He looks like a Klopp player to boot. He's not really a "winger" as some are saying. Usualy plays quite narrow, more of a second striker, quick feet, likes to make runs in behind. I think he's a positive addition to Liverpool although as said, he can be quite inconsistent. Seems to play better against the better sides.

Errr what? Clearly responding to posts. Obsessed would be looking through one persons specific posts and quoting them.

Spurs nicked the best ones last year.

Mane is direct and could fit in very well. If it is the marquee signing for the summer though then it's a little underwhelming however.

Didn't want us to sign Mane when it was reported van Gaal was keen on him but I can see the appeal. He is capable of bossing games and as others have said he generally always steps up against the 'bigger' sides but for me he's far too inconsistent and a lot of the games I've watched him in I've barely noticed his playing. Still young enough to improve and tbf Klopp has a decent history of improving players.

Sky Sports reporting we've agreed a fee of £26.3m for Mkhitaryan and that he and Ibrahimovic should be finalized this week. Probably on Friday when the transfer window officially opens.

£26m (presumably there are performance-related add-ons) could turn out to be a steal if Mkhitaryan continues to perform like he did last season. Very happy with this signing.

Ibrahimovic
Martial Rooney Mkhitaryan
That looks like a pretty formidable front four heading into the season - I would prefer a proper number ten to Rooney ( Mata? :( ) but like a list of managers before him, Jose will feel compelled to crowbar him in there somewhere.

Yeah I'm hoping with his time under Klopp and as he matures consistency will follow. Talented player but far from the finished article. Mind you that's the way Klopp likes young players, rough diamonds he can help turn into stars. We'll see.

Mkhitaryan is a good signing for Man Utd.

Has anyone else not realised how ridiculous that Mane costs more than Mikhitaryan? I rate Mane: But 34 million? And he's not as good as Mikh anyway.

Give Southampton £10 million to replace Mane and they will. That's not me basically saying "Mane is rubbish" I'm saying that Southampton are great at finding players on the cheap that become good players (Mane, Clyne, Tadic, etc etc).

I suppose one way you could look at it is that Mane has played in the Premier League and proven he can do it, whereas Micky....macca....mich.....the other one - hasn't.

Isn't Mkh goinginto his final year of his contract and doesn't want the offer from Dortmund - therefore lower price.

Aren't United linked with James Rodriguez for the number ten position?

Surely Rooney will slot into the same role he played for United towards the end of the season and has been playing for England in the last couple of weeks.

I always thought Mourinho would fancy Rooney for that number ten position, he likes his hard working number tens. Rodriguez is being rumoured but I'm not sure how much of it I believe.

Upto to £36m is crazy money for Mane. He better find consistency, quickly.
