Fact is they have both spent an absolute fortune, City have had to add more as the squad Pep inherited had more players needing shipping out Jose the huge transfer fees as he didnt inherit multiple world class players like Pep. Both of them need to shut up along with Conte too.

Perhaps but it would be a very Wenger move to stay on the fence and buy no one because a player is too expensive (be it wages or transfer fee). I think Wenger needs to spend that kind of money to shut a few gobs.
If this goes through, where does Giroud's future lie? He's reportedly not open to the possibility of being part of the Aubame deal as he wants to stay in London so Chelsea have been a speculated suitor but I reckon he'd fit right in at Dortmund. They haven't had a proper #9 since Lewandowski (Aubame is a winger, not a striker) and I reckon he'll make the attack more balanced. Plenty of players can create stuff for Giroud (Kagawa, Yarmolenko (who will come good with time I promise you)) and he's still one of the best headers of the ball around. Just needs the right service.

Sturridge on loan to West Brom just shows how far the player has fallen. This move is reminiscent of Walcott playing for a Big Sam side. Both players had so much promise but never fulfilled it. Big shame.
