How's he looked for you lot? I'd imagine he could more than do a job in this division, but it's been a while since I last saw him play.
Agreed -- I'm sure he could do a job in the NL.

Don't agree at all re: Palmer and McFadzean. I'd be bowled over if Palmer is good enough for L1 in 1.5 years (at the earliest). L2 is his ceiling for me. McFadzean you've been told how shite he is by pretty much everyone.

Tozer can definitely do a job at L1 though, I don't know much about at all about Davies and O'Connor but they sound like exciting signings.
Tranmere paid less for Lee O'Connor, a Republic of Ireland under 21 international from Celtic who can play in defence or midfield and is 20 years old. We paid less for Kane Hemmings from Burton Albion. We paid less for Josh Hawkes from Sunderland. We also signed Josh McPake on loan from Rangers and Lewis Warrington on loan from Everton to go with Paul Glatzel on loan from Liverpool and Ross Doohan on loan from Celtic. League 2 is not a great league but its not what you think.

Obviously you know that but some on here do not.

Agree with this, one of my top 3 wishes to see as a Pools fan was signing a midfielder from Burton Albion and we have just achieved that massive feet. Proper club status retained forever I believe in accordance to the doctrine.
Don,t know about you, But how are Wrexport going to hang on to thier squad when
They piss the Fannyarama in 5 years time.

corrected it for you - they have to do the full 48 years (like we did) before they're allowed back in.... anyone who is away over 10 years has to wait 48 years....

Sometimes it does feel like we will be down here for 48 years.

Pointing out that you have been outside the EFL for a long time and its not what you might be expecting when you do return.
True, we are out of touch with the standard of the league. But, to be fair, i am happier we will stand a good chance in league 2 should we go up now then if we were still in Trust ownership.

When a club is in non league its impossible to watch League 2 games, so Rob is right- whoever gets promoted will be venturing into the unknown.

Either the people making decisions at our club don't know the National League or they don't know the Football league. Which is it because both things are levelled at us?

Also let's face us, we aren't getting promoted this season

Wigan did a few bits of good business for around 150k on deadline day too I noticed. I guess the problem Wrexham face is that everyone knows they're minted so clubs hike their prices up and players demand massive wages to drop levels, it's nigh on impossible for them to get a bargain now.

Its likely you would never have got back with a board that had no ambition other than existing.

Sutton United have surprised everybody, including their own supporters, but they will find next season harder no matter what division they end up in.

Some on the board probably prioritised existing over success but we literally had no money. Our budget when you were down here was half yours- people take the piss that we were a perennial mid table team but we had a mid table budget.

We never paid much money for players. Most were free transfers or Bosman signings. I have never understood why no club has gone for Gary Brabin. He knows how to build a squad just not how to get them playing as a team. Keep him for a year and then get somebody in who can make it all work. 9 of the 2018 promotion play off team were his signings and 6 played in the 2019 promotion play off final.

Its not transfer fees its wages I'm talking about.

Brabin largely has a record of failing with large budgets at this level (Tranmere and Luton). There is a reason you lot got rid of him.

Having no personality didnt help him. Mickey Mellon turned them into a team.

You're right about his recruitment though, he was the same at Luton- always signed good players but couldn't get a tune out of them. We had the same with Kevin Wilkin.

We had a choice between Gary Brabin and Gary Mills. We chose wisely in the long run.
