Just seen the club actually tweeted there is a big "announcement" tomorrow at 1 so maybe it won't be about a signing but we are in talks with this anonymous 'proven scorer'.

I heard that it's Lee Hughes.

Ross Hannah?

Another possibility and one I would be happy to see here.

Anthony Malbon's name always crops up as he played under Burr at Kiddy but he's been out of this level for a while now so he would be more of a risk imo.

It's true, I wondered into Chester's boardroom and they told me. :woo:

For Malbon, it would depend entirely on his physical condition. He has to work hard to keep himself fit. One summer he didn't really keep himself in shape and it took him a couple of months into the season to recover his form. However, if he is in shape, he will score goals and always works hard for the team. It was only two years ago that he was one of the best strikers at this level. He joined Kidsgrove Athletic about halfway through last season and finished their top goalscorer.

We're announcing a new signing tomorrow at 1pm.

Local journalist has said we're in talks with a proven scorer who is also experienced but not at back end of their career so hopefully that means not another Iwelumo.

Richard Brodie.

Kingsley James has turned our contract offer down so will be signing for someone in the next couple of days I'd imagine.

A rumour going round for the past week or so that it could be us. Apparently Mills is to deny it in tomorrow's paper though.

He has recently bought a place in Yorkshire and said location is something he has to consider so I'd be disappointed if he did end up at Wrexham. Got a feeling he'll go to Halifax.

Yep I don't think he will sign for us but it seemed a strange one to make up. Whoever it is has to pay a fee too?

I didn't realise there would be a fee until reading Burr's comments on it. Can't imagine it will be much though.

There were lots of rumours regarding a compensation swap deal for Pearson and James but now Pearson's gone to Accy I'm not really sure.

Would really like it if he came to us, go a long way to rebuilding our entire midfield that have been released/ moved on.

With regards to the fee, can't imagine it being more than a few thousand

I reckon he'll go to Lincoln or Grimsby.

Rumours going about that Bradley Wood has had offers from Lincoln, Halifax and Chester. Although Halifax have not offered anywhere near what Chester and Lincoln have. Lincoln will be more ideal for location (live in Grimsby) but he has always stated he wants to return to us. He will give his all and is one of the most hardworking players in the conference but not good enough for a side who has aspirations of challenging for the top spot. Good luck to the lad though and I really hope he does succeed as he is one of the best pros down here.

According to our boards again, Wood signed for us last week before he went on holiday to Portugal, it's been a rumour that he would be signing for us ages ago and allegedly it will be announced tomorrow. We shall soon see if all those people are right!

Is he a right-back? If so, I'm surprised we are in for him as we already have a very good one in Ryan Higgins.

Yes. We tried playing him centre mid a few times but that just dramatically failed.

I'd also be very surprised as we already have two right backs signed up!

Just been told by one of our directors that it's probably Halifax.
