We're looking to get four players in before the transfer window closes, as announced today, to ease our injury crisis. That said, I'm unsure if this would be based on Gray going and replacing him/using the Gray transfer monies.

Was reported on local radio after our game tonight that Andre Gray is holding out for a move to us and that Bristol City will look elsewhere. Nice to see the lad is showing us this level of loyalty before he's even signed!

Now we just need Papa Allam to okay the move.

Oh, looks like we've signed Shaun Maloney from Chicago Fire an' all. Decent player, but he's getting on a bit now. We'll see how that pans out!

I don't think its a case of being loyal to you, just no other club your size has shown a real interest, doesn't view us as the right career move so to say.

Yeah, the loyalty thing was tongue-in-cheek. Thought that would be picked up - soz!

Thing is now regarding Brizzle, if you go for another striker every club in the country knows you've got stupid amounts of money to blow on a particular forward, so it will be an Andy Carroll/Liverpool situation on any player you do end up getting.

We already have 4 strikers, all of which have scored this season now with Agard, think we'd rather go with the guys we have then pay over for someone who wasn't a highlighted target.

£2.5m bid for Dale Stephens following three rejected bids for Jacob Butterfield.

I think we're getting desperate.

I like Stephens, apart from the fact he's always injured, but that seems steep given his current standing. I think it's just a rush to get someone half decent in before the window shuts.
Does smack of desperation like you say. Not least because he's formed a key part of our central midfield and it'd be completely counter-productive us selling this late into the window, but also because he's nothing more than a fairly decent Championship midfielder, and is unlikely to ever amount to anything more - if £2.5m is now the going rate for one of those then the transfer market truly is f*cked.

If it was Kayal we were talking about then it'd make more sense, as he should be playing in a top flight somewhere in all honesty.

That's a fair comment, but I think you also have to look at the amount of chances we have created but not taken. Better finishing and we would have more than 1 point on the board. (And yes I know, better defending and we would have more than 1 point on the board too!)

I heard Gray wanted plenty of clauses like relegation release clause, price release for a bigger club coming in for him as get outs from us as he didn't see us as a big enough club in itself.
When you say you heard it, you mean you read it 3 posts above yours...

Bruce has come out and said they have given up on Gray, with him rejecting Bristol City I hope that puts the issue to bed, looks like he'll hopefully be staying.

Probably kills our deal for Haller, though not neccessarily. I'd imagine we'd still be looking for a playmaker/winger on a permanent deal, then maybe loan deals for a DM and CB. Maybe another young striker on loan.

Stockhausen is an idiot.

He's the one who reported that Gray had turned us down, despite nowhere else saying it, and he's today came out and said that we're still in for him.

What a fool.

A few of the ITKers at our club also say he's turned you down, most of the signs point that way. Doesn't mean you can't still be in for him, try to offer him better contracts etc.

We are in for 5.

Kyle Ebecilio has just signed from Twente on a season long loan with view to a permanent. Ex-Arsenal, box to box midfielder.

Waiting on an answer from Joey Barton.

Watford to let us know on Vydra and Forestieri in the next few days.

And a keeper. Got knows who.

Confirmed by Dijkuizen in a press conference, looks like he'll be staying.

Happy that we've kept hold of him, but £9m would have been nice too! We still need a few additions, though loans would work fine.

If he has a better year this year than last his value will only increase. I imagine he'll sign a new contract with us with a release clause put in.

Doubt his value will increase past £9m, that would be even more ridiculous. Think he'll need a 25+ goal season to manage that.

Personally if I was a Brentford fan i'd be gutted. The amount of improvement to your squad you could make with £9m

He scored 18 last year, has 2 in 2 so far, also has experience of the Championship this season (only got 1 goal in his first 9 games last year IIRC). If he stays injury free I have no reason to think he wouldn't get around 25 goals.

£9m would have made a massive difference to us. Given its unlikely we'll go up this year due to our terrible luck with injuries, a lot of me would have wanted to take the £9m, but am largely happy either way.

What are the odds of a Bristol City £9 million bid for Garner? :£:box:
