O'Kane would be a great signing if he wasn't another bloody midfielder. It's getting slightly worrying the sheer amount of midfielders we seem to be targeting when it's a striker and a right back we so desperately need.

Gunter is quality if he's used right.

Reportedly a couple of departures today. Luke Ayling to Celtic, and Kieran Agard to MK Dons.

He's the definition of average Championship fullback. I'm surprised how much interest he has generated this Summer.

Given how we've started and our severe lack of defenders we need to keep him. But the club can't do anything as he has a buy out clause.

We've been linked with Ayling today. Need some RB cover with Berardi injured. Coyle should start there now though after he did well at QPR.

I don't think Chris Gunter is any better/worse than Cyrus Christie. The latter still having a fair few years on him too so I'm not fussed about us signing Gunter.

Aaron Gunnarson another linked, 2 million.

Aye, after last summer I'm happy it's not us getting turned down by players late in the window! At least ours were Andre Gray, Dwight Gayle, Jesse Lingard & co mind.

Two in two days for Brum reportedly, James Wilson turned them down yesterday as well.

Dundee have agreed a £500,000 deal with Birmingham City for the sale of Greg Stewart. But contrary to reports, the Dark Blues forward has not turned down a move to St Andrews.

Stewart and his representatives are still deep in negotiations with the Blues and the Tele has learned that an agreement is close. The move could even happen before the close of play this evening.

It may, of course, drag on until tomorrow but Stewart will almost certainly be gone before the Dark Blues clash with Rangers this weekend. City, who are understood to have stretched their budget to land Stewart following on from the £2 million signing of Che Adams, are said to be the only club to have tabled a firm offer for the wantaway frontman.

We shall see then, that's contrary to what O'Rouke's reported on his transfer account and they've been bang on the money for us this summer.

Nothing wrong with that. Don't think he is anywhere near as bad defensively as some make out. Yes he gets caught out on the odd occasion but what attacking full back doesn't.

I like him and if we didn't sign Mathews I would of been more than happy with him as our right back. Easily better than Little. God help us if Mathews is injured.

Got a good player there Leeds fans.

Not sure why you'd want Ayling... he's poor defensively at this level, will be back up to Matthews this season providing he stays fit.
Well he's signing but probs a squad player unless he can play centre half.

Leeds are getting themselves a solid performer and a top bloke. Not our first choice right back so no big problem for us but he's better than Little who I'd rather we shipped out.

Unless you're planning on playing a back three, then he won't be playing at centre half.

He's very suspect defensively, but alright going forwards. Was good for us in L1.

Greg Cunningham.
If you look it up, I actually was annoyed we sold Cunningham, and said that he was excellent last time we were in this division. Not even comparable.

Seems there may be truth in this. Annoyed about that in all honesty, Cunningham was absolutely outstanding in the Championship until he got injured against P'boro, he's a very, very good player, and was only kept out of the side by the brilliance of Bryan.

Back to square one now then, one signing in, one player out. Fucking worrying.
Saved you the effort, TomPNE94...

Well when Berardi is fit, him and Coyle should be above Ayling at RB so just some decent cover hopefully.

Strong rumours now of us signing Emyr Huws. Another bang average midfielder to add to our 5 other bang average midfielders. But it's ok because he's Welsh which means he's a quality player in the eyes of some of our fans...

As for Gunnarson, with the way fees are at the moment £2 million would just about buy his beard.

The Wednesday
Talisca has apparently said he will only join Wolves on a 1 year contract, bear in mind were spending 25 million euros on him

Yeah.. because we'll agree to that ... :ffs:

Hope we move on and spend that sort of money more wisely. He only wants to sign for us as a stepping stone for his work permit to Liverpool.

21.5m apparently fucking ridiculous

We had a bid accepted for Donald Love on Monday apparently but Sunderland then came in after and got him.

We're reportedly getting £6.2m from the Bolasie deal. Net spend £0 then.
