I was surprised by how easily we controlled the midfield, it's been a weakness of ours for years. Saying that though I think most players would be a bit put off if they had Gunnarson and Bamba chasing them everywhere wanting blood.
Every team we've played those two against have dominated our midfield. Even Luton. Fair enough that was Gardner and Tshibola, but the point stands. Without Jedinak (who does about 2/3 players' jobs), our midfield is so weak it's unbelievable.

Interesting 24 hours for us.

Firstly linked with Liverpool's Tiago Ilori on loan. Now reports from Liverpool that it will be a permanent transfer, with a fee of up to £3.75m.

Ali Al-Habsi signs a new two year contract extension.

Garath McCleary linked to Valencia..

Bailey Wright to Bristol City is done according to some of the more reliable people on PNE online.

My first choice pairing would be Clarke and Baptiste at present, with Vermijl at right back, plus we've signed Andy Boyle so I don't think he will be a loss personally. Would rather get some cash in the bank now rather than lose him for free in the summer.

Last season it would have been a problem but he's not a guaranteed starter now and his replacement is already at the club.

Good luck to him, 200+ games in a white shirt, helping us back to the Championship in the process.

Already Dom Ball has been loaned to Peterborough.

Dael Fry and Forster-Caskey's loans terminated.

Halfords going Cardiff.
Izzy Browns loans going to be terminated and go straight to Huddersfield.
Scott Allan loan is to be terminated.
Ward's going to be sold to the highest bidder.
Camp's out for the season and out of contract at the end of season.
Others will be gone too.

Odemwinge is going to stay until the end of the season.

Exciting. Not.

One of your fans on twitter said you owe us a defender after giving you the best left back (bit of an over exaggeration) in the league for nothing

Think we'll switch to a back three and he's played in that for PNE so hopefully he'd be comfortable in it.

Didn't you sign another Irish lad to go with Boyle as well?

I haven't seen a better left back than Cunningham in the league this season.

Yeah, Daryl Horgan who is supposedly better than McGeady according to some Irish fans, if he's anywhere near as good i'll be delighted.

Charlie Taylor has been quality for Leeds.

Ah not bad then, cheap gamble I suppose.

Was away for our game against Leeds, got caught up the pitch a fair few times when I saw them on TV a while back though.

Taylor's class. Some engine on him. Would be thrilled if we somehow get him tied down but can't see it happening even with the takeover.

Rovrum fans, what's Izzy Brown like?

Best player we had but that isn't saying much.

Plays best as a number 10, technically he'll be the best player you have, very skilfull and quick but he's lightweight and his dec ision making isn't the best but if he had that sorted he wouldn't be in this division.

If you don't play him as regularly as we have been, seems a pointless move by Chelsea.

He's quality. Few other LB's such as Amavi, Olsson etc who are arguably better than Cunningham but he's still a cracking defender and we shouldn't have let him go in hindsight.

I stand corrected on the takeover, it must be going through as the club definitely couldn't have kept Al-Habsi on the books, nor buy someone over £1m, with the current owners.

Sounds similar to Palmer who we've got from Chelsea. Can see Jack Payne going out on loan now, Sheff Utd sniffing.

Not Wright, the signing is British. Rumour has it that Wright's off to Boro, makes more sense.
I swear AS tweeted saying as such, has he deleted it?

He dismissed the Wright speculation but it's no longer on his twitter, he's such an idiot.

David Davis linked from Brum. We do need a couple more centre mids in the squad. Been playing defenders there the last couple of games.
What he lacks in technical ability, he makes up for with tenacity and bite. I would rather we kept him but I don't think he's gonna suit Zola's style.

Apparently Sako's not interested. Linked now with Jackson Irvine from Burton.

They'd probably argue Mooy is technically better, one of the best players I've seen in the league so far this season.

A few murmurs about Jordan Willis joining us and Taylor Moore going on loan the other way. Don't really see the point in it if it's true, another young centre back that probably won't get game time.

We've made a bid for James Tarkowski, but looks like we'll be rejected.

Also we're battling Leeds to sign Patrick Bamford... although I presume Leeds is a much more attractive option for him.

..Oh and that Camara bloke from Derby. Few media outlets say we want him because he can't get any gametime with Derby. I remember when we gave them Mo Camara (via Celtic)... what a guy he was.

Ollie Watkins still being linked to Brentford, but all internet talk I think.

His form lately has been superb so he could get snapped up if he keeps it up and if Hogan goes there could be something in it.

I'd expect us to hold out for around the £1M mark with add ons.

More likely to play at your gaff though. Any striker coming here (and we do need one so I'd very much take Bamford) is likely to play second fiddle so long as Wood's fit.

Razza Camara is still pretty raw for 27 years old but we haven't seen that much of him so it'll be interesting to see how he gets on if he goes out on loan. Strikes me as a player who's at either end of the spectrum, dog shit or brilliant.

Mo Camara was decent! Weirdly I think he's still at the club as a scout.. Probably explains all the bad transfer dealings we've had.
