I would have ALF at Wolves to challenge Afobe and Dicko. Also apparently were not getting the two players we enquired for last week, Matt Phillips and Wilson Palacios. There is talk about us looking at someone called Joe Walsh from Crawley though!

Agreed. I'd have Le Fondre too. Can't believe any non-PL club could afford 'Crystal' Palacios, but then again it wouldn't surprise me if he turned up in WV1.

I wonder if we were the unnamed club that bid for Walsh a year ago? You realise he's occasionally Gareth Bale's team-mate? I'm pleased we're gong with that kind of player. Maybe a back-up/competition for Stears and Batth....

Wilson Palacios is to Kenny Jackett what Kelly Brook is to FHM readers everywhere. I've never known a more perfect match up.

Joe Skarz left by mutual consent. Disgrace.
We've only got one left back, I'd take him as a back up on a short term deal till the end of the year.

Sol Bamba has signed for Leeds supposedly today. No opinion as I've heard little about him. Probably another no-mark from the Italian league.

Yeah that was weird. One minute it was "bid accepted!!!!!1111!" and then it went "oh, hang on, sky were just messin with us"

Who knows, Sky love all the drama don't they, I'm sure they don't have a direct line to the boardrooms of Birmingham and Bournemouth so they probably don't actually know any more than you or me.
The January transfer window is usually really quiet so any inkling of news they have to make a big deal of it.

Jos Hooiveld has no further role to play here and is free to find a new club. Although he is on loan and we haven't cancelled the loan for some reason.

Derby have been linked with Atsu this month. He won't get game time at Everton, he's not looked that good when played, in fairness he's never had a run in the team either. A move elsewhere is probably better for all parties

Paul Coutts and Keiron Freeman have gone to Sheffield United today. Freeman was released from his contract, so we don't have to giv eForest 40%, and the combined undisclosed fee was paid for Coutts.

Disappointed Coutts has left, but he wasn't going to get regular first team football here.

WBA want Sako, I know he'll inevitably leave but surely he's better than going 10 mins down the road to that shithole. There is a lot of talk on us cashing in on him in January rather than him going for nothing in the summer, but thats pointless IMO. If we have any chance of being promoted this year we will need our best players to stick around. We could sell him for a little over 1m now, or we could keep him till the summer and maybe get promoted which is supposedly worth around 100m to a club, I'd rather take the risk. Maybe he would even stay if we went up!

ALF chosen Bolton over us due to being closer to his family, fair play.

Rumours we're signing James Hanson, worked well with Nakhi before so could be a go'er. Massive Town fan aswell.

Good couple of days transfers for Reading.

Jure Travner in from FK Baku - 6 month contract. Will only ever be cover, but nice to actually have a recognised LB.
Nathaniel Chalobah on loan from Chelsea until the end of the season, good versatile player who has done well at some other Championship clubs.
Royston Drenthe out to Kayseri Erciyesspor so finally his big wages are off our wage bill. Might allow us to do a bit more this January. Still desperate for a striker.

Wolves apparently set to announce a signing on Monday, loan signing, and people seem to be leaning towards Jesse Lingard.

Is he back fit yet? I know he picked up a really nasty looking injury on the opening day of the season for United.

Did a decent enough job for us last season, without setting the league alight (like his crazy Brum debut suggested he might).

Was in the squad for the Yeovil game and apparently been back and looking good for the u21's, this is all based on others info, wasn't in the squad the other evening with the rumours being he had actually been at Wolves finalising this move (should it be true).

Would be a good signing, like the philosophy KJ has of bring through academy players or buying/loaning young players who have a point to prove. Looking back I'd much rather sign players like Benik Afobe over ageing strikers like Danny Graham or useless strikers like Yannick Sagbo.

Strangely Sagbo has started or played in a few games since returning to Hull, although don't know if that is due to injury or suspension, still he looked a no hoper for us.

A Slovenian from an Azeri club is not a "recognised" left back. He's just a left-back.

It's recognised that he can play left back - More than any of our current lot.

Ex-Watford and St Mirren so some on here might know of him.

Our ex defender/captain Jason Pearce off to Wigan from Leeds according to press down here.

Bit of a depressing move perhaps? From a big club currently on hard times, to a smaller club also currently on hard times!

Adam Le Fondre going to Bolton is a good move for all concerned. Shame we didn't make a move to have him back, desperately need a striker.

We've signed Jos Hooiveld. I know he was at Southampton but I haven't a clue if he's any good.
Can't see him making much difference to our flaccid team.

Wouldn't have made a difference, completely wrong type of striker to what we need.

I'd rather play Simon Cox than have ALF again. Much better all round striker.

Still think we'll get Glenn Murray, Palace still on the search for a striker after bringing in one already which has already forced him out of the team.

Sky Sports reckon we've enquired about taking Matt Phillips and/or Junior Hoilett on loan

He was good for us at this level but he has been shite at Norwich apparently.

I believe he means as he is an actual left back though, not just a defender or left sided player thrown in there.
