We’ve signed Julian Jeanvier from Reims for €1.6m, CB who got promoted with them from L2 last year.

Seems like our interest in Engels ended, which is a shame. Agreed a fee but then Olympiakos changed their minds.

Bamford apparently having a medial at Leeds today with a reported £7m move on the cards. It's certainly the position we need to be stronger, whether or not he's up to the job remains to be seen, he's certainly capable.

Still hoping we swoop in. Know for a fact we've matched the bid, also know for a fact that his old man hates us from his first stint...

George Evans £350k rising to £1m apparently.

No idea whether he’s any good or not. Mixed views from Reading fans between promising and deadwood. Lampard obviously saw something in him when he was at City, which means little now in fairness. We have Ledley, Huddlestone, Thorne and now Evans all vying for one position.

Vydra turned down Leeds’ 40k-a-week offer. I doubt he sees his future at Derby, but I can see why, despite the significant pay rise, he’s decided to stay. I feel like we’ve planned for life without him, and he isn’t even fit, so it’ll be difficult for him to get upto speed and in the team. If we sign Waghorn, as Sky are indicating will now go ahead, he’s going to have even more competition for a position that he isn’t proven in. I have no qualms about him staying, especially if the money is shit, but he’s not an important player for us anymore. Odd situation to be in.

Even if he was 100% fit now, I’d guarantee he wouldn’t be in the matchday squad for the Reading game.

If Vydra does stay you have 2 strikers along with Marriot who scored around 50 goals between them last season. Then you have Jerome and Nugent as cover, not a bad strikeforce...

Need this Waghorn saga to end, we have 6 fucking days to replace him. Either Derby need to improve their bid (he isn't going anywhere for an initial £5m rising to £8m with clauses which has already been rejected) or we need to offer him a new contract for me.

You'd like to think this photo taken yesterday during the friendly against the Hammers suggests a deal is not yet done. In reality though it's going to come down to somebody matching our valuation... Hurst; “That’s part of it, naturally a major part of it is the fee, which I’ve spoken about. Not quite at the level I believe he’s worth.”

Defensively we are still ridiculously short, though hopefully the signing of Donancien from Acrrington and hopefully, more importantly, Tilt from Blackpool in the coming days.

As expected once the fat c**t got his hands on some cash, Bruce wants Powell for 5 million. If that happens you can write our obituary for this league yet again.

Mark, there are a few rumours at our end about Ruddy heading our way. Have you heard anything?

Nothing specifically to Bristol City but he would be available. Can see one of either John Ruddy or Will Norris being loaned out especially as both want to be playing regular football. We have another goalkeeper, ironically named Jack Ruddy who would probably be 3rd choice to whoever stays.

Boro now favourites to take Waghorn! I’d understand it more if he went there, considering he’s from up that way.

He’d be wasted at Derby

I can't say I'm disappointed, I think: Vydra, Marriott, Waghorn, Nugent, Jerome, Martin, Blackman & Bennett would have been one (or five) too many for one position in the team.

Admittedly Vydra was meant to be going, but it seems like we've shifted our focus elsewhere. Bryan is now the flavour of the week, but we have Lowe coming through who has been truly outstanding this pre-season & Forsyth in reserve.

I'd be happy to rid some of the deadwood.

Carson, Mitchell, Roos
Wisdom, Bogle
Keogh, Davies, Pearce
Lowe Forsyth
Huddlestone, Ledley, Evans
Mount, Bryson, Johnson, Hanson
Wilson, Jozefzoon, Lawrence, Bennett, Thomas
Vydra, Marriott, Nugent

I think that's the senior squad he's sort of settled on, whether we sign anyone else I don't know. Martin is apparently in a bad way with a serious injury, so he may still be fancied. The likes of Blackman, Butterfield, Thorne , Jerome...etc. They've barely been seen.

West Brom have bid £4m for Woods. My guess is they’d need to double it for us to even start talking

Waghorn training at Playford Road today, reportedly £7m rejected from Boro.

£8m and sell him today, gives us a realistic chance of replacing by the second week of the season.

As far as I am reliably informed, we rejected a higher bid than that in January this year, so would have thought you weren't too far off with your guess - maybe go down to £6m plus a shed load of add-ons.

I think it's case of them accepting the embargo and paying £17M, then paying the rest over a period of time or stumping up the entire amount (£42M) now. That would have essentially killed the club, I guess, but it's been going on so long that it's nice to see an end to it.
If QPR had been let off the majority of the fine, with all possible respect to them, it would have been a travesty.

Bit late to the party as I have been away.

It is 17 million split over 10 years, interest free. 3 million in legal fees to the EFL. The other 20 odd million is shareholders writing off loans. EFL have said that they have made it this as it is what they want; clubs with no debt. So now we have cleared the debts it means we are living within our means.

FFP has changed since we were guilty so I don't think these fines will be the same as what clubs would get these days.

I have seen elsewhere that even if it were 40 million fine outright, it is still worth it if you make it into the premiership as you make so much money there.

Looks like we've got Ben Woodburn on loan for the season, pretty decent bit of business I'd say. Pipping Aston villa to players is pretty funny too.

Villa pulled out because Liverpool put clauses in their loan deals whereby players have to play a certain amount of games or there are hefty fines to pay. Villa refused to make that agreement.

What fucking club would agree to this? Absolutely retarded. Sheffield United are baffling.

We haven't agreed to any of that according to wilder last night, I'd never have wilder down for agreeing to it either, it's not all gone through yet anyway so sure we will see if/when it does. Why do Ipswich fans dislike us, I find that more retarded/baffling to be honest.
