Mahrez would be bankrupt...

And so he should be! Players are bought for millions and they sign a contract to play for the club. If they breach it, they should repay the money the club paid to get him there

They do sacrifice a fair amount of money. Part of their renumeration is a “loyalty bonus”, which they sacrifice if they put in a transfer request - fairly standard in football contracts

Didn’t know that! Glad to hear there are some people in football with common sense!

It’s not a huge amount to be fair. Probably going to be about 10% if their overall contract?

Remember some legal proceedings a few years ago when some Chelsea player moved but they tried to not pay him that bonus, tried to prove that he’d forced the move, something like that.

Apparently we’re about to nick Antoine Robinson from under Bolton’s nose. They seem pissed off so he must be okay.

Kean Bryan has joined Sheff Utd on a permanent deal - seems like a good signing

Can safely say I'd never heard of him until the other day. Anyone know anything on him?

Got between £600k and £1m from the Mawson sale. Happy with that.

Raised about £10m so far this summer but only lost Jozefzoon and Egan from the starting team. Pretty good business.

We’ve signed a giant CB from Motherwell for a high 6 figure fee rising to a million with add ons. Their fans are raving about him, but they raved about Louis Moult and he’s been crap in this league so you never know. It indicates that Burn may be out for a decent chunk of time which would be a huge blow.

Bit of an assumption when he's started three games after arriving in January injured. Still bagged twice mind.

Ronaldo Vieira has jumped the sinking ship and gone to Sampdoria. Interesting move.

Split the fans down the middle. He has shown signs of real talent and clearly has the ability on his day, but that's been seldom shown over the last 18 months. Persistent tendinitis hasn't helped his development either.

For you personally or you're chairman, never understand football fans being pleased with money coming in like it's their own.

More money for them to continue investing in their recruitment which will bring more success on the football pitch mate. That's their model.

Success? What just being in the championship?

As JJH said, our budgets are tiny and in this FFP world any money coming in means our budget can be bigger.

We’ve clearly overachieved these past couple of years, and need a little bit more in the squad to seriously challenge for promotion.

I’ve also almost seen my team go out of business twice, so a healthy balance sheet is a priority in my book.

What success have you guys had of late?

If you don’t have the budget to compete at the top of the league, you try to generate that budget.

We can’t sell more seats, can’t get bigger sponsorship, easiest way is to generate transfer funds.

Since we got to this league, we’ve sold £80m+ of players, who cost a combined total of £8m.

Love that other teams continue to underestimate us, and don’t follow our model. Just gives us an edge, long may it continue!

For Brentford with their current infrastructure, pushing the Premier League is about as good as it's gonna get for them.

Reckon we'll get him? I've always thought he's half decent but Tom always says he's a bomb scare

Of late? We've never had any since the early 1900s
