West Brom have had £13m rejected for Dack and gone back in with £15m. Please please please let it happen
Surely those figures can't be right?

Surprised if they're paying that much for an AMC that they haven't bid on Sawyers - especially as they were interested earlier in the summer. Would have thought we'd sell for £7-8m.

That's what I've just seen a West Brom fan post but not sure where he's got it from, can only see the £7m they had rejected yesterday. Surely they wouldn't jump up so much in 24 hours

Wasn't it £5m they rejected, and it was thought West Brom would be coming back with £7m?

For a guy without pace, £15m seems wishful thinking!

Michael Hector in on loan, Batth to Boro apparently.

Didn't pull up many trees last season at Hull so not overly enamored

Well that's two areas of the squad we definitely needed extra depth, Hector comes with a good pedigree so I'm hoping his stint at Hull was more down to the environment than the quality of him, if he brings a bit of leadership to the team then great. Onomah is highly rated but I seem to remember Villa fans slating him a fair bit last season, wont pretend I know what type of midfielder he is though, more attack minded or box to box? If a miracle happens and we can get Lee and Hooper back fit soon we may be able to challenge the top 10...

Chiedoze Ogbene has gone on loan to Exeter. Shame as he could be a decent option and we are very light up front, but have no doubt he’ll come back a better player than when he left

Signed Forest Green striker, Christian Doidge. Exact figure hasn’t been released but it’s at least £1 million according to Forest Green. Risk, but hopefully pays off.

Had to wait 30 years to break our most recent transfer record. Only had to hold on a week to break it again — Ryan Leonard joins for what I suspect is anywhere between £1.2-1.5m

Oh, and nearly all sources now saying the Saville fee is at least £8m. Sweet.

He'll go for £15m at some point, I'm certain of that. Frank Lampard didn't have pace either, and he still scored 20 a season.

Dack is no Lampard. Would bet good money be never moves for double-digit millions.

So Pennington is confirmed in, but Swindon has signed Wolfie on loan so we are still left with 3 CB's at the club, 1 of which who is banned for 3 games.

Ben Morris has also gone to Forest Green, which I can accept now Walters is here. We have sufficient bodies up top, we just need them to start scoring.

No, but a very similar style of player. Does more of the dirty work than Lampard used to. Maddison went for 20 million, there's no reason why Dack can't go for at least half that.

Let's see how Dack does in this division before mentioning him in silly 8 figure moves. A player who scored a few goals in a promoted L1 side ain't worth 10m+.

Magpie Bee, we’ve taken your young winger Chiedozie Ogbene on loan. Any info on him?

Byram is done for by the looks of it so we’ve signed a right back called Saidy Janko

Nope, me neither

Raw, pacey, direct, great attitude and has an eye for goal. Is seriously rapid. Needs to develop his football mind in my opinion, as his decision making and composure aren't great. Let's put it this way, if we were a L2 side and got him on loan I'd be very pleased.

Always has a smile on his face and should be a lot of fun to watch.

Really quick, likes to run at defenders, not the best on the ball, but hopefully he’ll learn that with you guys.

Think he’ll be good for you guys. He clearly hasn’t played much professional football, but also clearly has a lot of potential.

Think we’re hoping you’ll give him the same grounding that you gave Watkins.

Like that we seem to be working more together as clubs.

To be fair, he was having it off in that Gills side too.

Having seen him a few times in L1, he’s mustard.

Janko's class, wasn't he at St Ettiene? He looked quality at Barnsley, look back through my posts I badly wanted him last summer. Us Wednesday and reading were linked with him.

Well West Brom clearly did to offer that value, and Blackburn definitely do seeing as the bid was rejected. He's scored 50 odd goals from midfield in 4 years so he's hardly a one-season wonder, and hardly 'a few goals'.

Pisano announced in the next few days on a free. LJ confirmed this morning that we had offers in for a few other free agents, would be good if Scowen and Janko signed now given our opening day fixture.

Also, Cunningham linked with Boro. Potentially a sell on coming our way to make up for the lack of fee we got for him at the time...
I was more impressed with Janko than Kent at AG, gutted we didn't sign him as he'd have been playing every week with Pisano out injured.

Remember speaking to Craig about Kent before, great player to watch but produces very little in terms of end product.
M Dogg as said. Wasn't far off with Kent either, Gers fans see what we saw even in that shite league.

Cheers. Sounds promising.

We need pace so pleased to hear he’s very quick and as you say we will give him plenty of chances so should benefit both clubs.

Our assistant manager worked with him at Limerick so he knows all about him and that should see Ogbene given a fair chance to impress and hopefully we can extend the loan in January.

The only bid actually reported was £5m, which is much more his level

Dack will go for huge money eventually, top player. As will Powell providing he signs a new contract. If he doesn’t then some lucky bugger will be getting the bargain of the season in January.

Both Dack and Powell haven’t done anything in this league yet. Freeman destroyed the league when we were down there last, hes nothing more than an average championship player now.

The gulf between league 1 and the championship is huge.
