I agree that Deslandes is a real prospect too. Before some witless cnut asks how many times I have seen him play at Caen (as a reaction, of course, not a provocation), I haven't.

Surely you don't mean anybody on this forum

I can see Dicko going. Personally, I don't think he is PL quality. He was subbed off a few times in the latter part of the season and looked very, very unhappy about it. I think the club may want to move him on to earn some money off him, and then look for talent elsewhere.

I agree that Deslandes is a real prospect too. Before some witless cnut asks how many times I have seen him play at Caen (as a reaction, of course, not a provocation), I haven't. I don't need to because the last few seasons suggest that Wolves 'youth' scouting and academy are delivering the goods. The signing and development of the likes of Iorfa, Hause, Batth, Price, Ebanks-Landell, Ismail, Eusebio... even the departed Davis and Forde suggest that **our** people know what they are doing. Not every one of those will be a success, nor can we take a lot of credit for much of the development of some of them, but yes......a younger player coming into the club these days is a "real prospect", I agree.

Perhaps if managers of some other clubs spent less time conspiring to evade tax, being frequently sent from the dugout for abusing players and officials, or sitting out stadium bans, and a little more time trawling through different leagues for players, the fans of those clubs might be able to rely on them for spotting "real prospects".
Of course, if you employ such a bombastic, porcine, publicity-seeking rent-a-git as your manager then expect your close season signings to be little more than picking scraps of paper out of a revolving drum with shit players' names written on them.
We picked up a centre half from Auxerre a couple of years ago called Raphael Calvet. He was meant to be a real prospect (used to be very handy for Premier League sides on FM), had even played for the French Under 21s I think, but hasn't made any first team appearances in 2 years, even when we were down to the bare bones at the back.

Still thought of highly at the club (one reason Mawson is leaving) but can't see him making an impact any time soon.

Not saying your guy won't do very well, but just saying I had very high hopes for Calvet and he is yet to deliver.

Not sure what the connection is with Deslandes is here. You signed a foreign player and he hasn't lived up to expectations. We've done that too but recently, our younger signings have been good. The odd "failure" (or didn't meet expectations).....Leon Clarke, Yannick Sagbo on loan.....yes, but on the whole we seem to be picking talent.

Brilliant.

It is now acceptable to say how good a player is without ever seeing them and any concrete testimony from a fan of that players team.

Stop kidding yourself, you're not Crewe and you bought your way out of League One.

Oh and btw Evans has never been sent to the stands as Rotherham manager

We've actually signed a lot of French-African guys in recent years:

Sylvain Deslandes
Bakary Sako
Nouha Dicko
Razek Boukari
Steven Mouyokolo
Tongo Doumbia

Makes a difference from the Glen Hoddle / early MM years of scouting methods regarding only signing 30+ year old ex Sunderland defenders.

It's called trust in your scouts and management, and my post gave a number of examples of why Wolves fans have good reason to trust them of late. You still stand by the scatter-gun, bulk-buying approach of your corpulent criminally-convicted buffoon, bleating your charmless, vacuous shite at the rest of us.

That was about as comical as Simon Grayson's hairline.
I don't get why people get so defensive about their manager. Who gives a shit? I think Grayson is a boring c*** but I think he's an excellent manager. Why can't you accept that no matter how good a manager you may think Evans is, he's an absolute thundercunt?

Makes a whole lot of sense that.

That a random, not heard anything at this end.
Just gone from our forum, a poster that's been right before. We'll see, would fit in with the footballing style you have. Not good for us, unless all invested in other areas of the squad with a likewise replacement (not likely).

Is Freeman available for Transfer then?

No disrespect but there is more chance of Steve Evans winning the London marathon than Rotherham have of signing Luke Freeman!
As for the Millers fan on FB saying he's been seen at their place, he must have got back from Dubai bloody quickly then as this was taken TODAY!

Everton in for both Sako and Dicko. For an extra £250k they can have the chant that goes with the two of them.
This is probably the best way to get the best out of the two of them. I've said before that losing them both is probably inevitable, but also probably the best for both us and the two of them.
Personally, I don't think Dicko or Sako are PL quality and I can see a Jarvis/Kightly situation where they go to PL clubs for great wages and spend years warming the bench.
My prediction - therefore guaranteed to be wrong :) - is that they will make a handful of PL appearances, a few league Cup matches, then the next you'll see of them is in a few years time on loan at Huddersfield and Charlton then Plymouth then they will join York, Cheltenham and finally onto Evian Thonon Gaillard FC.
