Wouldn't want him back now, too much has gone on and I don't think that he is any better than De Vries.

Well that's why he's best when he's allowed a free role really. He has a serious engine on him so chasing people down, making challenges etc. He can be wild but he's a strong runner and can drive forward well. By the sounds of it Adeyemi can do that too which is important as most of our midfielders aren't the sort of players to run 40 yards forward. It sounds simple but it's a very useful trait to have.

I've never been a fan to be honest. I don't see where he quite fits. I know he has legs but you need far more than that. I do think he'll get a decent move, but it won't be until a few days before the season starts - if he stays in this country.

Last year was all Warburton. You've got a new, unproven manager and lost Pritchard. You can't rely on Gray again this year to keep you up there. Really think you will finish about 10 places lower to be honest.

Warbs did a fantastic job last year, but to say all of the achievements last year were all him does a massive disservice to the rest of the staff, and the players. I think we have massively strengthened so far this summer, even accounting for the loss of Pritchard. While I agree there are question marks over the manager, everything else looks to have improved to me.

On the playing side, we have made some great additions in defence, which was our achilles heel last year, and other than Pritch have managed to keep hold of the same team as last year. Pritchard only became a key player in the second half of the season, and was largely absent for the first 6 months. By the time he started to become a key player in games, we were already in a high position in the league. Gray only scored 2 goals in his first 12 or so games, and grew into the side as the season went on. I am sure he will be just as good, or even better, with a year's experience in the Championship behind him. If we bring in another striker to share the load, then we will also have massively improved in that area as well. One of the main failings of Warburton was that he repeatedly refused to make any signings last January, wanting to keep a very small squad, and that was one of the main reasons we ran out of steam towards the end. That has already been addressed this window.

Bear in mind also that with the exception of one or two players, it was their first season in the Championship. With such a young team, all of them will be much better for the experiences they had last year.

On the non-playing side, we have a much deeper coaching staff now, with specialists in every area. One key area is set-pieces, wehre we had one of, if not the, worst records in the division last season. We have signed up the AC Milan set piece coach, Giovanni Vio, who is widely regarded as one of the best around, a massive coup for us!


Apologies for the long post - but there is so much more to Brentford than a lot of people realise. Warbs did a fantastic job, I was gutted to see him go and would welcome him back at a moment's notice. But the owner here has built a very strong club in every way, and I really do believe that we will be right up there again this season. The only piece of the puzzle really missing is competition for Andre, and I'm sure that will be addressed before the 8th of August.

I really liked watching Brentford last year. That 2-2 at yours was one of the best performances I'd seen, bar probably Bournemouth, last season.

Agree with all of that except for the last bit. Warbs didn't want to be here for this season so I'm glad he isn't here. I only want people at Brentford that want to be here and buy into what we are doing.

I too don't think Brentford will finish as high next season as they did in 14/15.

Shouldn't take it too negatively, aside from maybe the top 3 and bottom 3 most seasons the teams in the middle are much of a muchness. Minimal changes can cause massive swings up or down the table.

We were (sort of) fighting relegation with Wigan and Brighton this season. A year before we were the three teams fighting for the final two playoff positions. A lot can change in twelve months.

Thanks - Warbs definitely had a lot to do with our style of play so who knows how we'll do next season. All the signs I think point to another good season. Understand if people think otherwise though!

How dod Leon Clarke score every three minutes for Coventry and yet almost never knowingly even get a shot off in L1 after he joined Wolves?

Is it me or does the phrase "fourth bid" suggest that Reading's negotiators are a bit clueless? (At least as clueless as ours!) Think this through. Even after the second bid, surely there must have been a message from St Andrews which pointed towards how much would prise Donaldson away?

Four rejected bids has me thinking of some fat bloke in a Jag hurling wads of £5 notes at a front door in Small Heath, yelling "Go on ya bastards! Name yer price!" Or however that comes out in Thai.
