Read the piece for christ sake, it quoted the Scottish Sun.

As for those four, Pack and Smith were two of our best players last year, made the step up really well, Brownhill is coming here as a stepping stone to PL clubs if you ask Barnsley fans, and O'Neil turned out 33 times in the Premier League last season.

The Billy Big Bollocks mentality is back in full swing now they've signed someone on loan from a club in this division and a player from the appalling poor Scottish League. Bless him.

Any Barnsley fan who claimed Brownhill has PL potential needs their head checking. Fantastic for us last season and should be decent for Bristol City at this level but I highly doubt he'll ever make it beyond the second tier.

Brilliant

We signed 3 players yesterday to add to Thomas Lam (centre half) and Apostolos Vellios (striker)

1. Stephen Henderson- keeper from Charlton. Will provide good backup to DDV and let a couple of kids out on loans

2. Damian Perquis- centre half from the MLS and Polish international. We have so many centre halves I'm not sure why we have signed him, he looks a bit average. Think Mancienne may go to Fulham for a few million.

3. Hildeberto Periera- season long loan from Benfica. This kid looks quality TBH. Pace and power, from what I've seen seems to be a similiar player to Antonio who we missed last year.

Think we need a left back, holding midfielder and a left winger and we should be set. Expect a couple to leave too, probably Paterson and Veldwijk, maybe Mancienne and even Lansbury at a push. Pray no one goes in for Assombalonga.

I wouldn't say so, but Tarkowski is better than any other centre half they have at the club. It's reportedly been rejected.

Sorry, but I have to disagree....Ben Mee is the best central defender at Burnley now and deservedly won the PLAYERS' "Player of the Year" award last season ahead of FANS' "Player of the Year" Joey Barton & top scorer Andre Gray.

After Burnley lost 3-0 at Hull on Boxing Day to fall nine points off the automatic promotion pace at the halfway stage, Dyche had to act and pulled off a "masterstroke" by dropping old warhorse Mike Duff (38) and moving Mee from left-back to central defence to partner Keane.

Stephen Ward came in at left-back and Burnley immediately went on an unbeaten 23-match run (W16 D7 L0) with the defence only conceding 12 goals in 23 outings.

Mee was the catalyst and, at 26, is approaching his peak.

Yes, I may have read it wrong...but last season Mee finished up a better centre-half than Keane, Tarkowski, Keogh or Shackell.

Mee quite often gets overlooked as he is only 5ft 11in....short for a centre-half but he rarely gets beaten in the air.

Mee not in the same class obviously, but Cannavaro was a brilliant "short in stature" central defender.

I want to make clear to SERNWA and anyone else that my Brownhill post was not a dig at JJH. I'm sure his claim isn't unfounded, but as I say any Barnsley fan who claimed that is full of crap and most definitely in the minority.

Course it's unfounded. The kid talks bollocks daily.

All you did was prove my point, cheers dingle.

Now then old man pipe down!!

You can't rock up once a month with a shit post against forum's top boy and get away with it.
Come on man, some of us try to stick up for you, and you do genuinely have some very good points, and it's interesting to get some inside scoop on Rotherham, but claiming you are the forum's "top boy" just shows you are only here just to wind everyone up.

As above, they're not unfounded at all. If you're interested to go further read the Barnsley forum on him when he was there.

I'm not claiming he will, I'll make my own judgment on him next season, but he was wanted by Barnsley and PNE and we beat them to his signature so he must have something about him.

Are these the same Barnsley twitter lot that you have been deriding for some weeks?

£7m+ turned down for Hendrick. The world's gone absolutely mental.

Now, I entertain anyone to try and sign Hughes; If Hendrick is worth more than £7m in Mel's eyes then I can't even imagine what he would want for Hughes.

We're pricing ourselves out of the market with regards to player sales. I don't even think Hendrick will start half our games next season. If you take into account injuries last season, he was the most unused central midfielder out of the six!!

I don't know much about the bloke at Burnley. However, Shackell and Keogh have been excellent together. I wouldn't really entertain trying to split up the partnership and I doubt we will.

I think our back four could possibly stay the same, with perhaps Forsyth coming back in for Olsson.

Monk now says we're very close with a few. Which will no doubt be followed by the sale of Taylor, to mirror the events of a couple of weeks ago.

Fulham and Newcastle linked with Daryl Murphy, can't see it happening to be honest.
