Ivan Lucic now officially signed from Bayern Munich , we're looking to loan him out straight away.

Sheff Wed supposedly want over £1.5m for Marnick Vermijl

I like him and he's a decent right back in this league but fuck right off.

We were only willing to spend about £200k on a striker, never mind a defender.

I don't have a problem with you wanting him out and I am not an idiot, of course I know that Wolves and Millwall have very different expectations. What YOU have failed to understand is that I have never had a problem with criticism of Jackett. He has his limitations and I believe I made those known on the old forum when you appointed him. The problem I have with YOUR criticism of Jackett is the tone and language you use, which is often disrespectful, sometimes contemptuous but invariably ungrateful.

... what tone and language... care to quote a few examples?

We paid about £350k for Vermijl and he had a decent season at this level last season, in today's inflated market it sounds about right.

As for Mendes I'm not entirely sure he pushed players onto us last summer, the likes of Joao and Matias were top performers in Portugal and of course with Carlos being Portuguese he will have known them. Think both will be big players this season

Even in today's inflated market his value hasn't increased by more than 4 times what you paid for him, he was second choice for the majority of the second half of the season. Think we might have to look at a young lad on loan from a prem team because we wont be paying more than 300k for anyone i would imagine.

1.5million for vermijl :2thumb:

I'll drive him

You won't be getting even close to a third of that off us so I wouldn't start the engine just yet.

He's a decent player, not sure Wednesday fans have seen the best of him, grew a lot over the course of the season with us.

How come?! That's extraordinarily low these days.

That's our budget, we didn't seem keen on stumping up the cash for the likes of Bradshaw and opted to bring back Eoin Doyle for a knock down price (supposedly £200k). I'd imagine we only spent about £300k-£400k on Ben Pringle at the most too, with a nominal fee paid for Callum Robinson. Money will be available if we're desperate but I think we're just spending within our means this summer.

In terms of transfer fees, I reckon we spent about £1.5m (max) altogether on May, Pearson & Grimshaw last season. Although bosmans and loans aren't exactly 'free'.

Obviously this is just me reading between the lines but I think Hemmings wants the club to be self-sufficient and not relying on him forking out transfer fees.

Pritchard for £9m is still £3.5m less than what Burnley have just bid for Jeff Hendrick.

Source? If what you are saying is true .....£12.5 million is nearly DOUBLE what Burnley bid a few days ago (£6.5m).

Maybe Rammy can confirm your info?

Admittedly on the whole the Portuguese contingent brought in by mendes on reflection were no better than average. Many were used but none shine, we struggled until forrestieri and bannan came in to make us tick

Am I correct in thinking not a SINGLE one of Mendes' players made the Owls' starting XI in the play-off final? I think Lopes started in the second leg at Brighton but that was about it.

Matias was injured for the majority of the season but you can see the quality in him, Joao is very raw but has shown in patches he's an asset, and Lopez was quality it's just a shame for him how good Barry Bannan and Kieron Lee are, would take him back but think Celta Vigo want too much.

Matthews announced on a season long loan tomorrow. Could even become permanent before the end of this transfer window.

Alex Fernandez, great guy, but couldn't get into our team at all last season. 10 games all season without any injuries of note, almost all as a substitute.

Looked slightly tougher and more ready for English football by the end of the year, but still couldn't get a look in.

Jokanovic has openly said he isn't happy with the number in the squad and both of these seem to be squad players. We still need a McCormack replacement and another defender.

I'd love to see what a £25m player looks like in this division. Jorge Mendes is quite the entertainer.

i would say Sasso, Lachman, Sougou maybe even Melo were Mendes players, none of which were any good.

Lopez has gone to Valloidid or whatever they're called
