As mentioned on an earlier page, there's some increased speculation that Scott Brown is likely to join us. We've effectively got four Conference North central midfielders, so any quality at all is welcome. Can't say I've seen him (or noticed him) before.
I really rate Scott Brown and will be sad to see him go. Got injured early season and hasn't managed to get back in the team unfortunately, will be a good signing for you if you get him.

According to a local Pompey paper, we are after Nigel Atangana. Ripped us to shreds when he played for Havant. Have hears he's off to Orient though!

We're apparently announcing a new signing tomorrow - I'm starting to think it will be Mackreth.

Well unless someone from your club is staying up late tonight ironing official badges onto a blue and white tent, then you'll know who it isn't.

We're being heavily linked with Ross Lafayette from Eastleigh. Hmmm...

Wouldn't be the worst signing we've made, especially as Pavey's loan expires soon and we're so lightweight up top.
Barry has also come out and said there could be 1 or 2 leaving the club.. Potentially Barnes-Homer and Brodie?

Probably the kind of striker you need. Big, physical target man who gets a few goals. Has a habit of not jumping when the ball is played up to him in the air, so that the defender behind him either has to hold off making a challenge or go over him in an attempt to get to the ball. Consequently almost every ball played up to him results in a free kick either way.

When we first signed Scott Brown at the start of last season he seemed to be a great signing and something we'd been missing in centre-midfield. He was decent on the ball, got stuck in and was also good at breaking up opponents moves, and in his first few games he was superb. However, he got injured and then struggled to get back in the first XI and when he did he just wasn't the same player.

This season he's only been a bit-part player and only played a handful of games but there's no doubt that if he can reproduce the form when we first signed him, he'll be a great acquisition for any team at this level. He's had a few personal problems though and has recently been convicted of drink-driving for a second time.

Not a bad player. I was not shocked it didn't work out for him at Luton but he's big and awkward to deal with and a handful in this league.

Ross Lafayette - big?, strong?, awkward?,. hard to handle?
Are you talking about the same bloke?
He is none of the above.
Decent enough if a defender comes nowhere near him, but too lightweight for this league, imho.
We are close to making a new signing, so perhaps that's why we are letting him go (if we are..)

He was a handful for Welling in their first season. As for big he's over 6 foot. Maybe not strong admittedly.

He's a decent player for a mid table Conference team.

When he was with us he looked a bit off the pace at first, but once we bombed off Jamie Milligan and started playing him more regularly he got fitter and sharper - it was his former in the second half of that season that won him our player of the season award and got him his move to Grimsby. Sounds like he just needs a run of games somewhere again to get him back up to speed, if a club sticks by him he'll be a decent signing.

Darren Jones released. Would be a good signing for someone, easily conference standard

Looks like we've signed Mark Beck on loan from Yeovil till the end of the season. Not confirmed yet.

Big ginger thing.

Looked useless every time we've played them in pre-season. If Edmondson was still in charge he'd probably be on his way to Barrow instead.

EDIT: By "them" I meant Carlisle...

Really annoying when you see players with great ability and potential just flop...

Given that he was a regular for Watford when they were in the premiership and Championship surely he was already on the way down when he played for FGR?
