Lost to an absolutely dire Crewe. Sums us up really. Probably an ideal time to play them going on that but still couldn’t sum up a single piece of quality in the final third. Missed an absolute sitter at 0-0 that would have likely reversed the result. With FGR guaranteed 3 points Saturday you’d have to say things are looking very bleak for Colchester.

All rational thinking in the bin now. Maynard’s got to go, a clown of unfathomable proportion
I don't see there being any other outcome. Not that I think we're winning many games with anyone in charge if that team is who we've got available.

Perfectly set up for us to get beat by Salford.

Boos ringing around the Racecourse. Not for me. A point is never to be sniffed at against this Simon Weaver super team.

On the other hand, absolutely no excuses for Nigel Clough and his Mansfield side tonight.

Win or lose this is an enjoyable game of football.

Casey
You deserved the win. We can't last 90 mins. A long season at a higher standard has found us out, we are a small team, not much depth in the squad and we just run out of puff after about 70 mins. More noticeable since Christmas.
Maynard is on borrowed time but I can't help feeling he's unlucky.

You've improved from the Autumn Lolas looked a good player I thought.

Made very hard work of rock bottom Sutton. But it was a night where the result was more important after back to back defeats. Not great to lose Baker-Richardson through injury after about 20 seconds which was a sign of how scrappy the game would be. The ref didn't help either, letting Sutton get away with alot of over physicality.

All in all though a massive win that sets us up for a big game at MK on Saturday, which is probably a game that suits us better being away from home vs a team that will trybto play football aswell. Unlike Saturday all the results went in our favour this week, Mansfield, Wrexham, MK and Barrow all dropping points.

Heard Clough's band of thugs tried to kick an Adkin's team off the football pitch - was never going to happen.

Absolutely shocking game vs a Sutton that had no interest in winning the game and instead took advantage of a naive referee to attempt to put half of our team in hospital. Battered them second half aside from one great chance they had, but it gave me flashbacks to the Harrogate game until eventually we broke through and scored a lovely goal for a 1-0 win. For once our substitutions were game changers rather than game ruiners and with the other results near the top of the table, those three points could be massive.

Relegate Sutton now, they've got no interest in playing football.

Also, we still love you Dave Artell!

That feels like a massive win, that’s 2 goals conceded in 5 now and even one of them shouldn’t have happened.

Not out of the woods yet with FGR winning, but we’re heading in the right direction, credit to Artell for that.

We're atrocious at home and have been for years. Valley Parade is everyone's cup final (even on a cow field) and we just never raise our game to that level.

As for tonight, typical bottom of the league performance from FGR. Score early, everyone behind the ball and then seal it on the counter. We had no answer to their stubbornness albeit Smith missed from two yards out.

At least that'll put the ridiculous playoff conversation to bed.
Wait til next Tuesday, 3 pts coming your way. Not looking forward to going one bit.

Us fans must have done something really beyond awful in a previous life to deserve supporting this club.

They underestimated us - even if you're Nigel Clough's League 2 answer to the Busby babes, you don't let Apter cut in all game, or he'll stick one in the corner before long. Felt we were the better team in fairness.

It's all because you sold Lewis and didn't sell Young too.

Only watched the first half but I’m hearing a potential worst performance of the season contender.

In the first we started decent but Tranmere did start to exert control once they scored out of nowhere, then we equalised out of nowhere too!

Looks as if no one wants to go up from this league and fair enough because you'd all get slaughtered in L1 just like us.

All of us will do fine because we won't have Paul Simpson as manager.

Whatever makes you feel better about your own performance. We’re finishing rock bottom, you spent half the time first half smashing balls out of play after keeper passes it 2 yards for a defender to do it. There wasn’t a bad tackle in the game and you got away with a fair few tactical fouls with no yellow. Probably not one you’d rush to watch back but if you want a proper view suggest you do. We were trying to win and the stats bear that out, we just weren’t good enough to produce to put it in the net. I don’t understand how anyone can come away from that with that view unless on a wind up. If that is battered when just about the only save our keeper makes is from his own fumble from a simple cross in the first 5 minutes I’m truly baffled.

From a basic ability point of view it’s hard to find the words as to how bad that was, I lost count of the times we kicked the ball straight out of play. FGR were first to everything defensively, got their early goal while we were still asleep and we weren’t good enough to do anything about it. Embarrassing, pathetic, just so far from being good enough.

Dunno what to think about that in regards to whether its a deserved point, two lost or one gained. If we’d of beat FGR on Saturday, id of probably been happy with that result tonight.
We’ve got to take these chances, utter crap from the forwards tonight. Faal should bury one, if not both of those chances his finishing is terrible.
Give Flash credit for putting the keeper under pressure which ultimately led to our goal from the resulting set-piece. Other than that - he isnt the goalscorer we need.
DJT, in fairness, put himself a bit when he came on but hes never been, or never will be league standard.
DJ buries Faal’s chance and the one at the death from DJT - bost toe or not. But lets face it, he was never coming on, same with JJ.
Onto Saturday now and great… a team in the bottom two.

Harrogate gameplay worked perfectly for them , 11 men behind the ball, slow the game down and we couldn't break them down. Can see why they knick points on the road.
McClean having a 2 game ban now is a blow for us, been brilliant since he moved into midfield.
2 draws against Harrogate in games we really should of won could make a huge difference at the end of the season.

Got what we deserved, please just give a few young lads a game so I can actually have something to get behind for the rest of the season.
