Bradford seemingly worried about goals but with the defence we will have out Saturday, which is more depleted than the one that produced Friday's horror show, I think they will be fine.

Bradford City 3 - 1 Barrow

Our problem isn't creating chances, its finishing them off so I don't think the quality of your defence will make much of a difference.

Can see another sucker punch 1-1 atm.

Need to back up yesterday’s great result here. We have definitely been more effective away than at VP so far but don’t think there are massive adjustments needed to get us winning those games also. Harrogate have obviously started well though so won’t be easy.

Something in our favour again there is no midweek game and given DC likes to amend the gameplan for different teams means we can just focus on preparing for this. Generally that’s when our best efforts have been under DC.

We've got a game on Tuesday in the Papa Johns Trophy at home to the Southampton U23s first. Jackett has hinted that he will be taking this seriously, but that Saturday will be the priority.

I would expect 2/3 of our youngsters to make their debuts for this with around 7/8 first team players. If Jackett is sensible he will rest Darren Pratley, Harry Smith, Lawrence Vigouroux, Omar Beckles and Tom James.

Our league record in 2021..

Home: W14 D1 L1
Away: W4 D6 L6

We go to Sutton and Oldham this week and I suppose, on paper at least, we won't get a much better opportunity to improve that away record. We really should be looking to win at least one of the matches.

We've got a pretty lousy record against Sutton and we've never won at their place. At least it'll be grassy underfoot this time. No ready made excuses.

We've got a poor record at Boundary Park too, though that has improved slightly over more recent years. I've personally seen us win there four times. Hoping for a fifth in what is sure to be an interesting atmosphere. It's likely that there will be Oldham fans in the away end. No problem as far as I'm concerned. I wish them nothing but the best.

Any Bristol Rovers fans (or anyone whos been there this season) able to confirm if they sell their programmes at the ground on matchday please? Or if you have to order them online? Many Thanks!

I think four points from the next two is what we should be aiming for, I'd settle for a point at Sutton but we have to be looking at getting all three against Oldham, lost every home game so far and scored only once.

Well our next two games are Sutton and Hartlepool so a twenty two man brawl on Tuesday will be just fine :)
Clearly Sutton will be more difficult than Scunny but if have another injury free week and can play like we are capable of it should be three points.

Harrogate will be tough, they really impressed at Vale Park last season in a 0-0 but they did have the promotion bounce at the time and we beat them well at their place.

We need to start winning at home though to back up these good away results, win here and it’s a decent start to the season.

Will say 2-1 home win in hope more than expectation, Canavan out so as per Saturday we’ll almost certainly concede and need two at least to get the points, Cook (who’ll seemingly score 95% of our goals this season) due a goal. Realistically in our current form I think Barrow will come away with something.

Already feels like a must-win game. Crazy, eh.

As mentioned, we might be struggling to score at the minute, but we’re creating plenty of chances. Still maintain the thought that we will hammer someone, soon. Given Barrow’s defensive problems, I’m hoping it’ll be this weekend.

Just think we should fucking go for it. Revert to 433 and see what happens.

GK: Richard O’Donnell

RB: Oscar Threkeld
CB: Paudie O’Connor
CB: Fiacre Kelleher
LB: Liam Ridehalgh

CM: Callum Cooke
CM: Yann Songo’o
CM: Elliott Watt

ST: Caolan Lavery
ST: Andy Cook
ST: Theo Robinson

Drop Gilliead and Vernam - especially the former, he’s contributed to nothing all season. When Eisa’s back fit, Gilli will be back warming the bench as per his first spell.

Nothing other than a convincing win is acceptable.

Tonight is a chance for Sutton to build on the momentum from Saturdays first ever FL victory. Of the 4 previous games between Sutton and Hartlepool at GGL, 3 have been draws. The exception being the last encounter back in Mayon the day Sutton secured the National League title.

I would imagine our lineup being pretty similar to Saturdays starting XI, with Kizzi replacing Barden. From a Sutton perspective it would be great to see Richie Bennett add to his tally against a club he played for last season.

Mansfield away on Saturday. Last time I went there we were on the cusp of promotion. Put in an awful performance and lost 3-0. Not fun. From what I’ve seen so far this season I think we’ll pull in more points away. Not a given we’ll get something on Saturday but I’m fairly confident given our form at the moment. O’keefe (on loan from Stags) will be a big miss (as I’m sure he is for Mansfield!!) but the rest of our squad seemingly fit and available. It’d be nice to keep our run going to cement ourselves in the top 7 (or even top 3) as the 10 game mark approaches.

Cobblers away. We seem to do better away from home as we struggle to break teams down at home. Would take a draw. Got my ticket for this one so my second game of the season.

Quinn picked up a six game ban, Perch doesn’t look like he’s coming back anytime soon either.

I’ll take a point Saturday, when you’ve lost 4 on bounce it’s just about stopping the rot.

I thought that. No arrogance on my part (I rarely gamble) but does seem an attractive bet.

Wait until you see our defence, you’ll be happy you invested.

Dale Vince currently on SSN giving his nonsensical veganism speech. I do wish people challenged his morals. He goes on about the extinction of animals when 40oz of fruit kills 1000s of insects, whereas 40oz of meat kills one cow.

Disagree with man all you like but these cribbed from the internet zingers are pathetic. You think no insects die in livestock farming? Suppose it goes with the rest of your know-nothing sub-Jordan Peterson sad boy act.

How many cows are there on Earth and how many insects are there?

Against my better judgement I'll try and engage you rationally. How much energy do you think was spent in making that one cow? Cows need a shit-ton of land and a shit-ton of food. Either nutrient-ruch grasses or soy products, both are fertiliser and water intensive crops. The cow happily converts this into shit-tons of actual shit, which gives off methane, CO2 and other greenhouse gases, contributing significantly to global warming (I'm taking a massive leap here and assuming you actually believe global warming is a thing). Not to mention cows are more sentient than insects, although this is a more complex and murky point.
Either way, I think it's abundantly clear that a) you don't think before you speak, b) you seem incapable or perhaps unwilling to engage your critical facilities, and c) you are a tory wanker.

Not seen you pipe up much on here since you were giving it the big one before getting demolished by the Orient by the way, I sincerely hope Exeter lose every game 5-0 just so I don't have to read your poorly thought out, internet assembled 'thoughts'.

Brovers up for the Orient, our most played team ever but not one we've come across much in recent years.
Never liked Barton and despite a couple of recent narrow wins for rovers I'm confident we can get at least a point. We're starting to look a little better, but not convinced we're solid top 3 candidates yet, would take a point followed up by a win at home to the stags.

Heard from our end that your tickets were capped at 946 behind the goal due to the trouble at Stevenage. Usually you’d have got 1,400

Well, that’s probably only going to cause more trouble. Before you stopped selling tickets for home fans online I think we’ve already bought some. Plus, I presume, tickets will be on sale on matchday.

Yep I was at Stevenage, some right bellends showing off in front of our new owner. I assume it was more hassle than it was worth to open up the side stand for the sake of about £8k income minus stewarding/policing costs.

If vince were so concerned about the impact on the planet he'd move FG down to the southern league again thus reducing travel and the impact on the planet (joking obv)
