Last train back to London cancelled on Monday night

Last minute booking into the Ibis, 6.50 train home and straight to work.

All for a 2-0 defeat that’s being shown on the tele, the things we do.
That is ridiculous dedication! Fair play!

Expecting a tough game up at Fleetwood, they’ve made some good signings and the form has picked up a bit, we’re short numbers wise but hoping we’ll battle away for a point.

Tasty game today. Expecting to see two good sides. Wednesday have only lost one game at home.

Not as bad as it sounds to be fair, I’ll be working from home anyway and managed to get the room for £22 but just something could have done without.

Ridiculous they can just cancel a train like that with just 72 hours notice.

Crowd expected around the 20k today. 5plus from Sunderland.......Stragglers and Premier supporters who would fancy a decent neutral match cannot get tickets because we now employ a membership scheme.
Absolute madness would have sold another 5k today

I am old enough to remember the days of getting in your car at 2pm and turning up at a random ground at 255, paying cash and watching a game.
What a fucking stupid decision by Bolton to turn away revenue. I’m sure those few thousands will instead throw a few quid into their local non league team instead.

Cracking start and just shows what can happen if you put the opposition under pressure, 1 up but could have been 3 if not for a couple of good saves

We're doing fairly well and have had two really good chances but as usual our finishing is shite.

Wigan not at it so far but have to think they'll kick into gear and we'll regret missing our chances.

It’s been end to end a good advert for football especially given the wind, Plymouth having more of the ball but both sides having good chances

Without doubt the best 45 we have put together this season. Playing them off the park. So nice after playing kids and back ups for nearly 2 months to have a big squad to pick from, change of shape making a massive difference too.

We’re successfully making Oxford look like Man City, currently 4-0 down just after the break

Can’t believe this performance. These January signings are making a huge difference. Wow. That 4th goal was something else

We aren’t making enough of the wind this half, still end to end and not deserving losing at present

Difficult afternoon. Calamatous early goal to concede after 3 minutes.
Since then, both sides have worked the ball well in patches but we haven't penetrated the final third.

It's appeared a pretty even game overall but importantly Wednesday have been the only side to really work anything inside the opposition penalty area and they could be 2 or 3 up.

15 minutes to try and make something happen.

Sunderland are back.

Special mention to Gillingham also, how shit do you have to be defensively to concede 4 penalties.

Fucking hell. I have no idea, but could that be close to some kind of record?

Disappointing today. Wednesday's home form was always going to be hard to overcome. As I said above, in terms of defensively and midfield it's been a very even game. Critically though, Weds have been effective in the final third and we have not penetrated whatsoever. I imagine Wednesday fans will have felt a little uncomfortable in the last ten minutes but only because they could have been 2 or 3 up (Walton again proving he's a top, top keeper). Ultimately though as an Ipswich fan I never felt the equaliser was coming.

Positives? 5 of our next 6 games are against sides I'm confident we will beat under McKenna and I expect us to be in the mix.

Today though, well played Wednesday.

We really should have won that in the end, great performance and made Wigan look ordinary.

Williams unlucky with his red card I thought - both yellows were borderline. Ref was generally shite as per.

Blimey. That was one of the strangest games of football I’ve ever seen.

It was sort of like watching an international minnow comprised of part-timers playing with only 9 men against a good League One side. Quite staggeringly had we not substituted our goal threat and playmaker on 50-odd minutes that score would have been 10.

From a Gills perspective it was scarily bad. In reality we never really needed to get out of first gear and yet the mistakes, lack of ground covered, the technical ineptitude and all rounded lack of confidence particularly first half allowed players to receive the ball unchallenged in spaces where you very rarely see players receive the ball and with so much time. It was alarming and I’m sure Gills fans will be furious having just watched that.

When we made substitutions Gills came back in the game and imposed themselves far better. Crikey do they need some structure and multiple signings though to get them even close to competing. Granted we were likely favourites with the bookies, however I don’t think anyone expected that.

4 penalties?!

Either the ref was very fussy or Gillingham very ill disciplined!

A shocking game in truth. High winds and a Sunday league pitch at Fleetwood.

A point was a fair result. Not much else to say about that awful game.

Dion & Dapo are going to scare the sh*t out of defences... they can both run in behind & are technically good enough to drop deep off the defense to carry the ball to make things happen. Great signs for our new signings & our new shape I think we'll have a real go next season

Having possession means nowt if you can’t do anything with it. Well done Bolton, therally deserved and very impressive. LJ will not get us promoted and his streakiness is a massive issue. Every sunderland fan knows when we don’t play 3 CB’s we struggle and fair play to Bolton for exposing it. Donny at home next week and only a massive win will repair todays damage. I just feel we won’t have enough for top two and we never win play offs but i suppose there is plenty games left. Enjoy your evening everyone. Fair to say i’ll be giving quest a miss haha. Bolton play like that and they could have a late push for top 6.

Happy with a draw there. We went ahead and obviously it’s always a bit annoying when you then don’t win but we’d have taken that before the game. Played ok second half, possibly could have won it but definitely could have lost it too.

Keeps that gap to the drop at nine points and still top half!

Think we’ve left it too late this season. Would be an even better comeback than last season if we did. 2 months of covid and injuries (having to play kids and second string) hit us hard but these 6/7 new signings this month have improved us dramatically. 2/3 additions in the summer and I think we have a great chance next season.

Talking of 3cbs… we changed 3 games ago to that and have won every game since without conceding. It’s definitely made us more solid.

Just think your back 4 couldn't deal with any pace in behind, they looked uncomfortable every time a ball went in behind them. We also seemed to win every 50-50 & pressed you into mistakes constantly high up the pitch. Santos & Johnston managed to deal with your biggest danger pretty comfortably too luckily for us. Think we were proper unlucky not to get anything from your place earlier on in the season, luckily for us everything seemed to go in today Good luck for the rest of the season though, great club!

Long balled, corner kicked and long throwed to death by Burton today in gale force winds.

We created some ok chances when we got down the sides of the back 3 but it was a very scrappy game. Turnover after turnover in midfield, a whistle happy ref, a swirling wind and any genuine quality was few and far between. Not sure Burton created anything outside of set pieces whereas I don't think we delivered one good set piece, we were trying to short all afternoon and getting it wrong.

The team was more in keeping of a Maamria side than a JFH one.
