I don't believe I've ever come across a football fan with a kind word to say about Col U and the WCHS. In person or on the www.

It’s not the best stadium, out of town and devoid of atmosphere as when I went the home fans were kept down one end of the ground and the blocks near the away end were empty.

Ground itself isn’t bad, carbon copy of Shrewsbury, old ground was a dump but fairly close to town and the pubs and had an atmosphere to it.

Yep, Layer Road may have been a dump but it wasn't the mortuary that the new ground is. Totally devoid of atmosphere even when they're 2 or 3 goals up. It's also far too big for a club their size.

Will be an interesting one tomorrow. Can’t really call it. How’s that for great analysis?
I think you'll beat us. Our fans will go into meltdown, and then we'll go on and finish the season strongly. Not a good feeling about tomorrow with so many ex-Swindon in your ranks and your style of play likely to cause us problems.

We seem to be hoping other teams keep dropping points so that we can limp into the playoffs. We had a mini-bounce against Oldham and Walsall, but we weren't great against Crewe and only played Bradford off the park because they had a player sent off.

Our last two games against Morecambe and Scunny have arguably been our worst two of the season.

Oh, and we haven't beat Carlisle at Brunton Park since 1933 when they became the only Football League team we ever beat until 1999.

I'll snap your hand off for a draw.

Colchester away on a cold Tuesday night, what’s not to love?

It would be typical Vale to give an out of form team a helping hand. I'm sensing a really good positive feeling about the place, similar to when we got promoted last time. If we could put a run together I feel like we're in a positive place.

Forest Green are a decent footballing side and that suits us. I'd take a draw right now.

Fancy us to beat a Crawley side that can't buy a win on the road. Despite their good form and their free scoring of late, I think they'll be pretty defensive tomorrow and try to frustrate us which will play into our hands, particularly in the second half. Game won't be off either as it's given a dry day above zero degrees tomorrow.

A win here sets us up very nicely for Plymouth on Saturday which is a bonus game.

Can’t see that. We usually do well against them away. Hoofball? Fuck right off!

Oldham at home for us.

Despite their recent decent-ish form, 1 defeat in 7, but 4 of the other 6 have been draws, I still expect us to carry on from Saturday and get a win.
Weather wise, its fine.. Just bloody cold.

If Cobblers & Crawley wanna do us a favour, that would be greatly appreciated too.

Massive game for us in my opinion. We got royally pumped on Saturday and with Crewe up next at Home Park, this week could have a massive say in proceedings come May.

Gonna be another game of two poor teams tonight I imagine. We played ok on Saturday but not great. Will probably end in a draw or a one score game

Personally can’t wait for the Mansfield game tonight. The free-flowing entertainment on offer from two such talented and committed sides should be off the charts.

Who knows with Wellens. Tbh, we need Broadbent in at CB anyway and if Yates is out we need an extra body in midfield if the Carlisle game is anything to go by. Could be a blessing in disguise.

Someone on our forum has done some number crunching. Since dropping into L2 we’ve played 21 midweek games.

We’ve only won 5, losing 13.

Yikes!

The wind is horrendous here. It’s going to be an awful match at Brunton Park. Just hope we can get something out of it.

Badly need a win tonight. We've wasted too many opportunites to beat sides that are there for the taking recently. Stockton can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo.

Our ticket office/hotline is open 9-3 four days a week, including Tuesday’s which are non-match nights. On match nights it’s open from 9-12. Don’t ask me why.

Strange that you'd do it that way as would expect it to be open later on match days!

Assume its to do with not wanting to print them!

Because us winning wouldn't be a problem for you?

To be fair, Plymouth are going to be the likeliest threat to the current top 3, but we're still well in it as it stands.

After today there could be only 5 points separating the top 6 sides, if we can beat Swindon, Argyle don't lose, Crewe fail to win and Colchester win. That would leave things looking wide open for the run-in.

Yeah. It’s a terrible record. League or Cup, we’re useless in midweek.

We had a horrific run on Sundays at one point, until 2015-16 we'd gone something like 18 years with a single win (Grimsby on TV IIRC in 1999) excluding Xmas.

That single win in 2002... the last Potteries Derby!

Then we won twice in a month!

Four home defeats in a row, I'm really worried what the reaction will be this evening if we make it five...Port Vale aren't the sort of team you want to play when you need a win!

The crazy thing is that we are still only a couple of wins away from being in the mix for the play-offs, the problem is that it doesn't feel like that.

Based on our record down the years of helping teams on a bad run end there run we might be the sort of team you want!
