Two big games for the race for the autos

Wigan travel to Burton-by-the-sea with a chance to put 9pts between them and 3rd if they win and Rotherham lose at Pompey.

What a horror of a game that was. Absolutely pissing down all the way through on a small ground and a mudbath of a pitch. If ever there was a "take a point and get the fuck out of there" kind of game, it was that!

And you actually gained a point on Rotherham.

Good night for MK Dons.

Apart from the rain (insert excessive use of sprinklers before game) you have described perfectly our match with them on Saturday.

PS I did enjoy my pint of Pedigree.

Did they play again with seven defenders and three midfielders?

We had one of those up there too. Nicked it in the 94th minute. Pivotal moment for us, that. Anyway, onto events at Fratton Park… Another pivotal moment in our season?

Think they did actually, certainly had Mancienne and Borthwick-Jackson in midfield. Unleashed Moult and Niasse off the bench midway through the second half. They should have won it as well, incredible goal line clearance from Watts right at the end to save a point.

You know you've got a battle on when playing a JFH side, I've always rated him as a manager.

Funny he seems to be so defensive minded considering what a powerful striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was!

Someone said a few weeks ago that we would have a big say in the top six line up. Think Burton will too. We played them Saturday to our first scoreless draw of the season, Wigan tonight and I think Wycombe and MK are visiting their bumpy pitch as well?

Edited to to note it is Rotherham not MK.

The Millers looked very short on confidence tonight. It was a fairly comfortable win for us and we haven't been very good recently.

Sort of… Rotherham could say the same thing as they still have that game in hand and 6 goals on us. I don’t want to make too bold a prediction until this time next week really, Wednesday at home and Oxford away are two massive results and I wouldn’t want to be reliant on beating Plymouth away for automatic promotion.

True, wasn't thinking of goal difference, just points. Bugger!
