Bolton 2-0 Fleetwood.
Can't see anything but a routine home win for you lads. The riot act will have been read by Brown on Saturday so expect some response, just enough to keep the score respectable....
Us v Orient - two sides who have started poorly and will be looking for a win to calm a possibly increasingly moaning fanbase - I'm sure Orient's fans are paragons of patience and tolerance, but ours, not so much.
But then circumstances like these often lead to nervousness and reluctance to attack and leave yourself exposed...so this could end up the mother of all dull 0-0s, given the apparent toothlessness of both sides in attack so far this campaign.
They are pretty good defensively but didn't break us down.Has anyone seen Blackpool this season? Not sure what to expect from them other than they seem to be the most stable of the relegated clubs.
Much improved from Vale in the last two games but we have the second longest streak without an away win in the division I think. Won’t be able to go this one so it’s an iFollow job and prioritising going Charlton instead.
Yeah Evans normally has our number so I’m expecting it to be really tough. But we’re playing very well at the moment and should be a cracking atmosphere - gutted to miss it.The chavs at home for us and I’m fully expecting evans to be at his annoying best, no doubt Stevenage will be falling all over place and wasting time from minute 1, hoping we have that extra bit of quality to see us get the 3pts.
Providing there’s no knocks I’ll expect an unchanged lineup from the first 2 lge games.
KTF
Hamilton played as a winger, Beeley was taken off early as he didn't do much on Saturday.Blackpool have CJ Hamilton and Jake beesley as attacker's 2 very good players for this level.
I’ve said this for the last two years since we got promoted. Apart from our blip between oct-April where we couldn’t buy a win and a injury list as long as your arm, the abbey is a really tough place to come and get a result. Our tough start to the season continues with an away trip to Charlton. If we can pick up at least a point there, its a pretty good start remaining undefeated to Pompey, Barnsley & Charlton, two of which were away.
Then its supposed to be onto the easier game at Cambridge away, who just so happen to be in the top 2
I honestly don't know what to expect from our trip from Reading.
Like us, they've neither won nor scored yet in the league this season, but it sounds like they've at least played some football.
It's my son's 4th away game though and we've drawn all 3 of the previous ones, so I'll go 1-1.
They looked really poor fitness wise. Second half a few of them looked knackered. If you can keep them doing that possession for possession sake nonsense for half an hour or so, they'll tire themselves out.Can only go off what I saw on Saturday but they are the exact sort of team that would irritate me immensely if I was a fan of them. Have lots of possession but mostly for the sake of it rather than in dangerous areas. By all accounts our game followed a similar pattern as their one with Peterborough where they had lots of the ball first half then their performance dipped a lot second half. Keep it tight at the start and I can see you getting something there.
Wigan at home.
Tough game, they've had a great start and our ex player Charlie Wyke looks as if he's on top form.
Be interesting to see if Moxon plays, fans will draw their own conclusions if he doesn't.
I'd be happy with a point.
Even when they were illustrious they got done at Vale Park in a famous giant killing…Always makes me chuckle when I read opposition forums. Yes, Blackpool have a more illustrious history and a lot of which was more than 70 years ago and yes, they've had a recent stint in the Premier League, but in the past 30 or 40 years they haven't had many seasons with an average attendance over 7000. They're not what I would class as a 'big' club. Yet some of their fans are saying things like 'We should easily beat teams like Port Vale '. Nobody has got any given right to beat anyone else. We're all at this level for a reason.
Should be backed by a sell out away end of nearly 2k, which is great for a night match in the middle of August.
All about perception though. Myself, I see Blackpool as a bigger club than Port Vale, and actually see Port Vale more akin to a club the size of say Cambridge. But thats me growing up with football, will differ from the next person. I do think Port Vale fans see themselves higher/bigger than any other League 1 fan would.Always makes me chuckle when I read opposition forums.
