It’s crazy how just one loss feels so significant. What a mental league this is.

Can’t wait to lose to Wealdstone next week.

You should be ok, they always play well against the big boys but just roll over against fellow tinpotters.
Table's looking pretty embarrassing for the brotherhood right now then I'm guessing ;)

Kings Lynn weren't had against us last week. Certainly not as bad as the table shows.

Their new manager came across really well afterwards I thought, even if he was dressed like a presenter on Bargain Hunt.

Bet Jeff King feels like a right plonker right now. Why oh why would you say a comment like that. Always comes back to bite you in the arse.

Widdrington spent a short while with us as assistant to Luggy (Paul Sturrock). Will be an interesting game. Will they try and hold out for a point, or be more adventurous and how attacking will we be at home , hosting a fellow relegation candidate?

All will be revealed in Friday's episode......

Oh don’t you just love a Tuesday night Devonshiring. Not ideal for us from a relegation perspective but all of that goes out the window on nights like tonight - it really is Halifax’s to lose now.
Devonshiring only ever happens on Tuesday nights. If this was Saturday afternoon they'd have lost 4-0.

Stockport County.
We never got going, had our focal point off injured after 35 minutes and strolled to an uneventful win.

Ifs and buts but let's face it if we had Challinor since day one we're romping it.

Going to be a right battle as it stands. Get strapped in boys. We're all in it. Big few months coming up. No Quigley for us will be an issue.

Long ball vs long ball down at Maidenhead. As I said the other day, Rowe's direct style has worked a treat but they probably needed to mix it up tonight.

Not only does Chesterfield losing really not help us, guess who Rowe will take it out on at the weekend? I just hope we keep the score down

Give over, they're not even as good as Grimsby, they were very one dimensional against us and a couple of their players weren't of the quality you might expect. As tonight confirmed, they're not as good as everybody else seems to want to believe they are. :ds:

Rowe pretty much spot on in his post match interview. Really poor performance from us last night despite the 25 mins fight back at the start of the second half.

Perspective is that it is only our second defeat of the season and we have aldershot at home on Saturday to hopefully put it right.

My main concern is the amount of late goals we concede. We’ve dropped points to Torquay, Bromley, Maidenhead, Wrexham and Alty all by conceding late goals. We need to sort that out if we want the second half of the season to go right.

Replacing Danny Rowe and Jack Clarke is the number one aim for the next week or so IMO, without them we lack a bit of creativity in midfield and will struggle to unlock better sides.

You know what, I've slept on it now. And in the cold light of day, reflecting on the result.... It's an absolute fucking shocker

I would expect an incoming very soon too. It's clear we really miss a spark of imagination and guile that Clarke brings, we're crying out for it. That loss last night though is surely a bit of complacency, defence and midfield not doing the basics right and challenging for 2nd balls with desire and fight, I feel they probably needed that bit of a wake up call. Shit timing to get a result like that though as teams are bunching up behind us in flying form, and I think if we let the likes of County/Stockport get past us, the way this league is this year, it'll be really hard to get back front

Maidenhead now with wins over Chesterfield, Wrexham, Halifax and Bromley to go with their defeats to Weymouth and King’s Lynn. Special club.

Thats a mad record isn't it? to be fair we should have beaten them but they hit us with 2 quick goals as like last night and then we got a man sent off on the half hour mark. They then got a breakaway winner after we'd pulled it back to 2-2.

They should have more than enough to be beating the clubs around them. Devonshire is too concerned with issuing Devonshirings.

Maidenhead still got it then! Hartlepool's home record from December onwards last season...W13 D1 L1. I don't even need to tell you who that one defeat was against. Comfortable too, a 4-2 Devonshoeing.
