There's a couple of midweek mop up games, both with a couple of potential banana skins for two of the divisions front runners.

Chesterfield travel to Maidenhead in a bid to return to the top of the table and avoid a Devonshiring, whilst Stockport face the rotting corpse of a Hampshire-less Eastleigh.

On the face of it, two wins for the brothers, but we've all been here before...

Another £100k added to Kabongoals value please after Tuesday night. I’ve got a feeling this one will go how we don’t want it. Not reason behind it but I can see a 1-0 home win or a 0-0 draw.

I expect Rowe to ring the changes, possibly rest Weston and Asante who is being nursed back into it. Expect Miller to drop to the bench given his ankle knock.

Loach
King Williams Grimes Croll Whittle
Oyeleke Kellerman
Khan Mandeville
Tshimanga

That would be my team with Asante and Weston off the bench in the second half for Oyeleke and Kellerman reverting to a 5-3-2.

one thing Chesterfield are good at is smashing the small teams- it's the only type of game they have after all.

4 nil- Kabongoals and Assisante with the goals and assists.

Stockport are going to ride rough shod over Eastleigh too. This will mark the start of Halifax' inevitable slide.

Can see Eastleigh pulling a covid card out. Someone linked up their managers post match yesterday and he was saying they've got a few injuries plus one (yes one god forbid!) potential Covid case. If it wasn't the trophy he said they may have tried to get it off which considering they managed to name a 15 man squad all but confirms they would have been flouting the rules...

Injuries happen, this mixing them in with one or two covid cases is insane. Happening in the PL and FL so I can't actually blame the lax NL rules.

One to keep an eye on but don't be surprised to see the dreaded P-P.

Lovely, keep 'em coming guys, I'm already laughing my socks off, just at the prospect of laughing them off for real, later on. :fl: There'll be a prize for the most earnestly convincing prediction at the end of the season. Get your entries in. :ds:

This has got to be the game that we finally get one over Maidenhead. They’ve been our absolute bogey team ever since we got here, I’m not even sure we’ve ever actually beaten them!

I agree with SuperHans regarding a change of formation, but I 100% think that Weston will play. Everyone knows Maidenhead away is a battle and a scrap for every ball for the full 90, Curtis Weston is our most adept in regards to that style.

I also think we’ll line up in a 3-4-2-1, but my team would be:

Loach
Williams - Grimes - Croll
King - Weston - Oyeleke - Whittle
Kellerman - Mandeville
Tshimanga

Subs:
Maguire
Miller
Khan
Payne
Asante

0-2, one of those where we just get the job done and get out of there. Goals from Tshimanga (obviously) and a Grimes header!

Have we ever beaten Maidenhead in our games down here?
I went and we got hammered once, pretty sure they hammered us at home once but I wasn’t there.
Seem to be a bit of a bogey side

Back in our days of the EFL we had the same problem going to Bristol. Took years to break the spell

I'd very surprised to see a Devonshiring on Tuesday night. This squad is not NL standard.

Remember finally beating City at Ashton Gate on that Friday night game on Sky...I had just sat down in front of the TV with a Chinese and when Hudson scored after a couple of minutes most of it ended up on the living room floor...a tragedy on an otherwise fine evening

Can we beat maidenhead? Bogey side for us, no wins in 5 attempts, 4 losses.

For me, it depends what line up we play. I think we need 2 strikers on the pitch against teams like this away from home.
Surely if Asante and Tshimanga start again we at least score a goal

You would hope so. Its whether asante starts or not, having just returned from injury. In fairness I can only think of one game we've failed to score in all season. Dover away...

Maidenhead have conceded an average of over 2 goals a game at home this season, we’ve scored on average 1.9 goals per game away from home this season. It should be an away win but surely at some stage we are gonna get another dover / Woking result.

Absolutely no way this won’t be a brotherhood double. Anything other than six points for Stockport and Chesterfield would be a complete miracle. Devonshire has lost his magic touch, and Eastleigh go from tigers at.. whatever their ground is called, to quivering pussycats as soon as they turn off the M3.

Probably be 10 changes for us tonight (possibly 9). Really should beat this lot given the way we're playing but I've a slight worry as our strength is now in the midfield 3 and from what I've been told Eastleigh tend to bypass that part of the pitch altogether.
