I said it before our hapless display at Salford yesterday and I'll say it again now, Bradford will pagger us on Tuesday, we have nothing upfront, not a single threat, we were rotten yesterday.

Had a ticket but passed it on to someone else, can't justify chucking a day's wage to watch us away from home at the minute, hoping for the best but expecting defeat.

Tuesday looks like a very interesting evening with 1st versus 7th, 2nd against 4th and 5th playing 6th...only Port Vale in 3rd with a potential banana skin instead of a top of the table clash to look forward to.

Mansfield clearly in some rotten form right now but that team still has some quality players. We look really good at the moment when we turn it on but it’s L2 so well aware we could just as easily fall flat on our faces.

I’m going on a limb that Proctor won’t play this game as he’s carrying a niggle and not worth risking it. Increasingly hard not to get Politic in from the start.

I miss the (very recent) days when you could make a late decision to attend an away game. I won't know if I'm able to make Bradford until after I finish work tomorrow. Consequently, I can't go. It's as ridiculous as it is maddening. I've been to 100s of games over the years and I've paid on the gate in a very large majority of them.

It's almost a comfort that we're offering so little value away from home right now. Almost.

Expecting nothing else but a defeat, though a goal would be nice.

Know what you mean, think the no sales on the day caught a few people out for our home game against Swindon last weekend...which is a pity. The other thing is that it costs more at a lot of grounds if you pay on the day instead of in advance...I phoned Orient on Thursday to try and pre-pay for my ticket and collect on the evening of the game as it is cheaper, by three quid, but they wouldn't let me. It would cost me more than three quid in fuel to get out to Nailsworth to buy an advance ticket from the club, to say nothing of the time and impact on the environment from my petrol fumes...oh well, will still be going to the game!

Shame we’re not playing Mansfield on a Saturday, we may have sold out.

Another tough game here, we were awful both times against these last season (all be it depleted in both ties).

We are 6 wins in 7, Mansfield on a long winless run means Mansfield win!

Interesting headache for DC this one, the changes worked a treat and getting harder to justify leaving Politic on the bench. Could see us go 4-3-3 if Procs is rested and have Worrall and Politic off James Wilson, Gibbo and Benning at full back (he was excellent yesterday) with Smudge and DJ at the back (or Cass).

It’s only the second game I think where we are playing a side in poor form and struggling at the time so it’s a game we need to be getting something from but the “typical” Vale thoughts always linger.

We’ll pagger you for what it’s worth, manage to spectacularly cock up each and every one of those efforts, almost certainly concede and at best hang on or at the very least gift you point.

We've scored 2 goals in 6 away games and they were both in the same game, I wouldn't worry too much about the conceding part, feel free to toe one in your own net for us, it'd be appreciated!

We've won 2 games in our last 31, I somehow think we might lose this one.

Scunthorpe are awful, already beat them without breaking sweat in the Carabao this season as well. You would expect us to have a point to prove after a disappointing performance yesterday, some injured players returning and a few players who know they need to step things up a bit. All signs point to a big win on Tuesday.

I'll go for a draw.

Will be missing from Harrogate on Tuesday, would be fair to say I’m not a fan of this hobby football club. Even so would of still enjoyed a day out there as the town has some great ale houses!

A draw suggests we will either keep a clean sheet or score at least a goal, neither of which are ever going to happen.

I’ve only just noticed that FGR have played seven teams in top half of table but of them only Exeter away.

Conversely FGR have played five away games and beaten five teams in bottom half of table.

But it looks like upcoming games will even that out with FGR playing away games to top table teams:

L Orient, Bradford, Hartlepool & Harrogate.

I’ll be more than surprised if FGR remain top of table by Xmas, but I’m enjoying the journey. :2thumb:

Big test for our newly assembled squad, the toughest yet. We've been good overall at withstanding pressure from our opponents and dealing with sticky moments in games this season particularly at home, 5 clean sheets from 6 home games tells its own story.

Doubt we'll continue with that Tuesday, our last 2 home games we've lost that goalscoring touch we had as well. Too many of our forward players rushing things IMO, need to try and relax and play with better cohesion. Mansfield we created enough chances to win the match, but Saturday we was toothless but that was partly down to our opponents. Playing with Harry Smith, its all too easy to take the easy option and just go long to him all the time - which does lead to us losing the ball, I doubt FGR constantly go long and try and hit Jamile Matt, they always try and stick to their passing game.

Also Jackett doesn't seem to have too much faith in our squad players, Harry Smith could well do with a rest at some point for a week, but no other striker we have can really play up front on their own. Ruel Sotiriou had a start on Saturday and didn't take it so I'd expect Aaron Drinan to get his place back.

Need Callum Reilly to get fit and into our midfield as the ball player option quickly to give us something different.

We've drawn alot of games recently, a draw here IMO wouldn't be a bad result. I have to say for the first time this season, I feel this is a game we won't win because FGR are probably the best passing side in this league from what I have seen and know how to win games, we're not quite at their level and Jacketts teams are more efficient than easy on the eye.

As soon as port vale score (we might hold out for 15 minutes or so) it’s game over.

You know when you get that 1st goal against andorra, it’ll be like that.

If you’re looking to score either just punt a long ball down the middle and the defence will be thoroughly baffled, or if you fancy just have a corner, we will play that stupid tactic of having everyone back, but the caveat for you is that no-one will challenge and you’ll get a free header that way.

Don’t worry about the midfield as it does a disappearing act nearly as good as maddie mccann.

don’t worry about the forwards as they’ve not scored in 3 games and wouldn’t know what a goal was if it smacked them in the face.

Not going, no watching, no listening, not keeping upto date with the goal updates when port vale score.

wouldn't say they rely on fouls, they're pretty big and physical and they battered us with crosses into the box.

they didn't defend particularly well and we carved them open a few times.

it's a tricky game for anyone i think.

Our achilles heel is our defending balls into the box in my opinion. I'm not too confident against these.

Neither were we!

I'd describe them as prime Westley Stevenage but less shithousey, similar to Harrogate last season but know that wont help as you were a league above!

They've had a good defensive record but we took them apart when we got the ball down and played it on the deck through it, but they do really aerially bombard.

A late defensive change didn’t help against Vale. In the 2 games since the defence has looked a little more solid.

Depends if we win or not. If we win (for the most part) opposition fans will say we’re a overly physical team. This complaint doesn’t come up if we lose.

We’re a classic lower league side. Try to get the ball into the opposition area a quickly and effectively as possible.

There was a pair of horrific defences on display that day and to put the tin hat on it beaten by the jammiest winning goal I'll ever see.

As our manager said, we play that game another 10 times and we win 9 of them. It was just one of those days, aided by a terrible refereeing performance.

We had a few things go against us but just didn't deal with balls into the box. When we actually got it down, we looked miles ahead ability wise.

What Sutton have is spirit and a never say die attitude. They also have a number of big lads and get it into the box at every opportunity. They'll pick up a number of points, particularly at home, but they'll struggle on bigger pitches against the better ability teams.

If you can get better at defending balls into the box then you have got a chance.

We had the same from your lot last season and then you pummeled us 4-0! We did have a lot of people out that day but you were on a bad run.

I should be much more confident for this, as we're seemingly a different beast this year. But Mansfield always seem to put on a performance against us and the typical Vale thing to do would be to get easily beat.

What concerns me is that Clough probably needs a result to save his job, so I'm expecting them to be bang up for it.
